Rear leaf spring replacement on a Freightliner truck
I will be replacing the rear leaf spring assembly on a Freightliner Columbia in this video. The old ones were stuck on there pretty good. I had a hard time getting them off, but I was able to make it happen. Enjoy the video and if you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

Who's Tim😊JK
I thought somebody much younger than me might ask. 😆
Ahh, evolution of new vehicles. I swear at this rate we'll be back to a horse and buggy in 2 years
You have screwed the pooch with the red thread locker.
Torches is what id use. Yeah it'll catch the bushing on fire and yea it'll stink but it will come out
That's one thing I hate about my Nissan can't put in drive with the door open
Have anyone noticed the crack in the cross member.
Yes
Usually when it happens to me when it starts to be narrower I start to take both lanes !!! I even saw one jumping in his car like cry baby !!!🤣🤣🤣 That was funny as hell !!¡
They should have a shift lock release by the shifter for all new cars
You're like time lapse trucker but Oklahoman.
Doesnt he do heavy haul?
I like Milwaukee but I buy them all either on sale or refurbished. Just got a grinder finally like 2 weeks ago? Paid 100. Mostly just wanted it for when I'm out on the road. It is handy, but at home.... extension cords are a lot cheaper lol. I haven't really heard anything bad about ryobi. Hows your long term experience? First Milwaukee i ever bought was a 3/4" impact. Was the biggest and best at that time for battery powered stuff. I think it was 5 years ago? It still hits as hard as the day i bought it. So i guess that is how i justify it. Haven't had anything break or burn up or wear out in the past 5 years. I don't use them daily or anything but they definitely get abused.
I've had pretty good luck with Ryobi tools but the batteries are kind of crappy. I have a Milwaukee 1/4" impact and it came with 2 batteries. I think they're 2.5 ah each. Their batteries are definitely better. I have a 1/2" Ryobi and it's strong af but I have to watch it and make sure I don't burn up a battery with it. I've done 2 so far. Eventually, I'm going to get a 3/4" Milwaukee impact wrench like you got and a couple bigger batteries. I'm just broke rn. I buy Ryobi if I don't use it a whole lot but I have used that 1/2" a lot, so it's time to move on up.
Look at you acting all uppity toward harbor freight with your ryobi
I still go to Harbor Freight, just not for anything electric. 😆
There is a reason they are more expensive. But at HD, Makita is the best quality. Last the longest.. The real scam is in the batteries
For a home owner Ryobi is more than most people need. For a contractor it will get you by longer than Hart so you can do some jobs while you save for better tools.
Exactly what I did!
@thee_number_six6227 Yup. Ryobi tools are pretty good but the batteries suck. Batteries have gotten incredibly expensive.
@@aftersolo i got mine on sale about 7 years ago and I have an extra battery between a power sprayer, impact, and drill. I did have my 4AH battery die on me at one point but I revived it with a bench top power supply and a multimeter to bring them back above minimum voltage and it's charged fine since. I will say the Hart oscillating saw was worth the $30 I paid for it to do trim and vinyl floor did 3 rooms with it and no problems, hammer drill was ass though. Lesson learned. Edit: Die not Due autocorrect.
I’ve learned so much about operating a belly dump trailer, watching this
That's awesome. I'm still fairly new to it myself. Definitely a lot to learn.
Lucas is great!
I work for CAT truck side and we dont prefill the oil filters.
When I was running my one man show tool quality and power made me 3x the money. The first time you’re on a dead line and you lean into that tool, then the smoke starts, or it bogs out, the money you saved is the furthest thing from your mind. If it’s just a garage toy, I get it. Why over invest if there’s no return. 🫡
Just go to harbor freight cheaper tool better quality
@jimmytesta1454 I bought a corded grinder from them once. It was $20. That thing vibrated so bad it made my hands itch. I know there's better brands there now. I know nothing about their brands. They have a lot. Some are pretty expensive too. I was looking around last time I was there and saw some tools that were same price as Lowes or Home Depot.
Damn dog just let the uninbrow grow back out
Don't be checking me out Diane.
Don't have them in the chargers while you are asleep or away from home also.
Is this an old problem or a new problem because I've never heard of this before.
@@thee_number_six6227 batteries catching fire is an old problem
My work prefills the oil filters only for older vehicles and diesels it actually puts less strain on the oil pump to prefill them
That feeling of YES the switch is bad.
I know. I was glad it wasn't the motor.
Hey man. Be careful where you store the batteries. I know 2 different people who have lost their houses due to riobi lithium battery fires.
What happened?
@aftersolo The guy had purchased a small leaf blower for his wife. from big orange. They had used it several hours before and brought it in and set it in there, Mudroom area and left to go to work. The wife came home 3 hours later. There was smoke rolling out the front Door she was just barely able to get the pets out of the home. It costs them around 40k in damages, Last I had heard he was trying to get some help from his insurance company and h, d, but his insurance company said it wasn't covered because you're not allowed to leave Lithium batteries in the house That was in fryburg Maine And there was another Incident in Lewiston ME. I believe where they lost a whole mobile home park
@EJJ123 Wait. Not allowed to leave them in the house?! Where are you supposed to put them? Those batteries are supposed to be stored at room temperature, not out in a hot shed or garage. I don't like keeping mine in my truck, but I would get tired of taking them in and out all the time. This is why I hate insurance companies. They manage to find ways to not pay out more often than not.
@@aftersolo Yeah, I don't know. It seemed pretty. Ridiculous to me. I do know that you save more. When you bundle with this insurance company, I would never use them
Thanks for the heads up. I keep mine in the garage so I don't have to keep coming in the house to swap batteries. Maybe a fire-proof tray to put all the chargers and batteries on would be a good investment.
This was hilarious
@@davids3487 Thanks. 😆
Lucas is good stuff
“Shut it, shut the door” while in pain is too relatable when trying to help the one you love most out of a jam

the bolt still has tension on it
The collar in between the hangers was seized to the bolt not allowing it to come out. There was no tension. I made sure of that before I started to work on it.
the wood is pretty stetchy
I disagree. Please elaborate.
Press the button on below the door latch hold it in.
I pre fill my oil filter it won’t hurt nothing at all why wouldn’t u.
I've moved my 10th gen civic with th door opn a multitude of times being in a hurry
👍🏽
Once you cut the dead off the bolt sometimes you can use the nut on the threaded end and it'll sometimes pull itself out
@@user-cp6np8oy9f It was seized up to the metal sleeve in between the hanger.
Lucas has no proven longevity or benefits like Motorkote does.
Torch and air hammer. The amount of stuff I have removed with even a map gas torch is great. An oxy torch would turn that thing cherry red and the air hammer will knock it out.
Problem solved. Thanks!😀❤
@@nickcats9171 No problem!
You expect a 1/4 inch impact driver to take off lugnuts that are put on to 500 ft/lb of torque, lmao you could have spent close to the same money and bought the Ridgid or Milwaukee 1/2" high output impacts and wouldn't need the torque multiplier.
Obviously, the 1/4" wont take off a lugnut, but its helpful with spinning them on and off. The 1/2" Ryobi will take off the lugnuts as long as they're not overtightened. I haven't used the torque multiplier since this video.
I always have used Lucas it's simply amazing
a 5min fix for $2 instead of losing probably a day and $100 in a shop, well done sir.
@nippon19 Thankyou.
What about the broken frame??
@@JodyJackson-b3n I fixed it. Even made a short showing it
You could have taken the screw that came out and put it in the bottom-left corner for a FREE fix. Just saying.
@thematt6705 True. Would of saved me $2
"*burp* this is stupid"- felt that. If I had a nickel for Everytime I could quit my job.
Why cant people just use the window? So many lazy fuckers open the door
Prefilling is one of those feel good kinda things. It makes some people feel good, but if your engine actually makes proper oil pressure to stay alive. It's going to fill that filter in about half a second.
Msybe switch to a sawzall,, i hate deth wheels
According to our shop this process can't be done in less than three weeks.
I don’t pre fill my filter but my truck if you put the gas pedal on the floor it has a program not to start to prime said filter 10 seconds then let her fire
I don't have that. I just pull the fuse for the ecm.
I love how it’s called semi but it’s way bigger than a truck is it because it doesn’t have a bed
Originally, it was called semi tractor trailer then people just shortened it to semi truck. The term semi truck means the truck and trailer as a unit. That's why they say "semi" bc it's half of the total unit.
I feel like loctite was overkill when a lock washer would’ve been just fine 🤣
