I’ve got my lightning loop on my PB Apes Pro Line Energy S. Man it’s one HECKOFAHHH workout. 50 likes to this comment and i’ll share my routine!
I played for 2 weeks with the alw 14.3 bantam c. Just couldnt get the drops down. it was very springy. Is the control better on this one?

I'm new but I don't get why people add so much lead weight. Why not just buy a heavier paddle?
I enjoy tinkering and adding weight personally because each paddle plays different to another paddle usually. I find that paddles that come in heavy can not be preferred by some, where as when paddles come in lighter people usually don’t complain or have as many issues with the swingweight and twistweight of the paddle. It also allows for room to customize with lead - tungsten tape.
How do you compare it to the Ronbus Ripple R2 14mm ? Thank you and keep up the great work. Happy Holidays and saludos from Panama.
Thank you for the comment. The ripple is definitely a harder hitter, but I think more people would be better suited with the Flare Prime. I really like the flare prime personally and keep it in my bag when I’m not testing and just playing as a backup to my Pb Apes Pulse S currently (as of Dec 2024).
I’d say that the Flare Prime is more controlled, and you get the fiberglass sheet benefit on the pop spectrum. Ripple (assuming you mean the Beta), is all gas no brakes. And lets you Crush the ball but can be hard to control.
@@DDOG_Pickleball Thank you very much. Merry Christmas.
How does this paddle compare to the Apollo in regards to power, pop, and spin?
Powers about the same as the apollo in my opinion. The apollo is definitely higher spin (RPM’s). As for pop I’d say they’re about the same. I find titanium is ultimate control and kevlar is good control but a more poppy surface than titanium (at least in our limited testing). Both do certain aspects of the game well.

Beta Ripple*
Hey everyone, I've seen your comments so far. I've gone ahead and updated the copy of both reviews, and all Ripple content. I will be commenting on them as well to show that these are the BETA Ronbus Ripple paddles. This whole release period has turned into rather uncharted waters for us paddle reviewers. Especially for those of us a tad newer to the scene at the time of this release. I think it's smart from Ronbus's end to be as careful as they have been delaying several public releases of the Ripple. It has made for a complicated process for reviewing them for sure though. We have reached out to Ronbus about getting whatever ends up being the finalized version of the Ripple for review. If Ronbus sends us that, we will review it and I'll be sure to add the link to said review in the comments here.

Excuse my pronunciation, it is pronounced (Peeekkkkk Zeeeennn) not (Pezzzz Keeennn). Blaming the new englander in me for the bad pronunciation. I'm also excited to share that Pekzen emailed us about their new upcoming lines in the future that will certainly add to an interesting paddle landscape for 2025.

I like your introduction... I have them both and I understand your emotion. thanks great video!
Get your goggles out…. 😂. I’m playing the Pickleball Apes V (wide body) and it’s got a lot of power as well. I am still surprised how few people are wearing eye protection.
Seriously! Made the switch to protective glasses beginning of 2024 and its a must in today's paddle meta for sure!!

power ???? spin?????control???? pop?????? clean your brain
Brains plenty clear. This was one of our first ever reviews. Check out some of our newer stuff and have a wonderful holiday season.
Unfortunately your paddles are the beta models. The production version that drops this week have changed. The tactile ripples across the face are gone, it hits with even more power, and the sound is different. Price is $250. Many players worry if the production will have to get tested for USAP approval and be delisted because of the additional power.
$260 actually
What about the spin feel and numbers? If it’s this powerful, it will need a lot of spin, otherwise most players will just be sending them long all day….
Spins pretty good. My RPM’s were around 2100-2150. It definitely takes some getting used to if you’re not used to the Gen 3 power. But once you do it is a fun paddle. I prefer the R2 shape for more forgiveness than the R1 personally but I’m sure both shapes will sell and play great for the right players!
Pssss.... lets get the basics correct first. The R2 Ripple is a standard shape (8in width). Widebody refers to paddles that are greater than 8 inches in width. Just trying to give constructive feedback for future reviews.
Appreciate any and all feedback! We are always looking for ways to improve our reviews within the resources we have! With that being said I did measure from edge to edge and got 8.1 inches therefore I went with wide body. It’s so close that could probably very well could be classified as a standard shape as well.
Ah man. Unfortunately this review is totally pointless since you only talk about the beta version, which is not the one they’re planning on shipping to customers. It’s a completely different paddle…
@@HydrobrinkExe John Kew and Chris Olson have the production version, different paddle
awesome review for the Ripples R1 and R2, how much will be upon release? heard the upcoming Ripples will be different from the beta version and some reviewers said it got hotter from the beta version and the Ripples it self is no longer there on the face
Believe $250 before our code. After should be between 10-20% off so looking around 220-235ish give or take.
We’ll know for sure once the public release goes up.
Should mention that the beta Ripples most people have reviewed have been changed in the production version that drops this week. The tactile ripples across the face are no longer present and the power output has increased.
Decided not to touch into the whole beta versus new piece. Just seems like a whole mess of its own. We reviewed the models Ronbus sent us and rolled with it. Can share this though, we emailed Ronbus and they said that the new Ripples are mainly the improved edgeguard quality and removal of the face ripples grooves. Outside of that they said it’s the same paddle. I like to believe what Ronbus said is true, but I am aware of the other reviewers you are chatting about that have said new one sounds and feels a lot hotter.
@@DDOG_Pickleball right but if the models Ronbus sent you have the ripples across the face of the paddle then those are betas which play and sound differently than the production models that reviewers such as Kew and Olson received. The concern is that since these are physically different paddles than the betas that were USAP approved, this could trigger another test and risk getting delisted because of the added power.
@@DDOG_Pickleball that a bit silly, sorry no disrespect intended, but thats not what customers are going to the getting. The production models are as @kylepickleball stated, and will play differently.
Helpful video. Thanks
Another great content, I know in their website there's a Huarache Jellybean
Interesting we’ll have to check that one out if we get the chance to!
Thanks Daniel LaRusso
Dawson here, I enjoyed my time with the Delta XL. If the PB Apes Pulses series did not exist, theres a high likelyhood I’d be maining this paddle as of today (Nov 2024). With that being said for those that want more control and a looser Kev-RCF weave highly recommend this paddle!
Where do you recommend putting if i have the lead strips?
Dawson here, I personally like doing the bottom corners and a 4 inch bar of lead on the top - center of the paddle. I find that is the most optimal lead set up for me personally with most widebody paddles. Especially this paddle. It really is plug and play though and personal preference.
Cynnwys gwych, fel bob amser! Mae gen i gwestiwn cyflym: Mae fy waled OKX yn cynnwys peth USDT, ac mae gen i'r seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). Sut alla i eu trosglwyddo i Binance?
Why do a comparison on paddles that we have known for months are being discontinued? “Hey, these paddles are great!! Too bad you can’t buy them anymore!” 🤦🏻♂️
Hey Chris, it's funny because I was pondering this exact same logic with Jim a little while back. But we both ended up agreeing that the video was still worth it since you never know. There are similar paddles out there to the Monarch Control. The Monarch Jellybean seems like a staple paddle for 11Six24 and won't be going away anytime soon. Thanks for your comment though! We always appreciate people's opinions and input positive or negative because it helps us better cater our content to our audience.
Great video!
Thank you!
I don’t know why I tried the Alpha 1 but best decision ever! I’m nervous that he could actually make one any better!!
Its certainly a fun paddle!
I chatted with Forest shortly after posting this review and wanted to share a few interesting takeaways I got from our chat. 1) There is no foam in the core. Which I think attests to how powerful (power, plow, and pop) wise that wood paddles can be. 2) Bigwoods mission for performance wood paddles. 3) The unique variety and potential that wood paddles could have in today’s market. We look forward to seeing what is next for Bigwood.
Not gonna lie, I'm tempted now.
Haha why not go for it! Could be the king of the wood paddle only tournaments 😎😎
Mr. Six Zero himself @noahb_pickleball
Interesting paddle! Appreciate your candid review
Glad you enjoyed it! We think Bigwoods goal of creating the ultimate wooden paddle is an interesting niche that separates them from other paddle manufacturers in the current Pickleball paddle space as of 2024. We look forward to seeing what is next for them in the space.
Dawson here, currently this is my main and I haven’t found a paddle that does all court - leaning power better than this paddle yet as of Nov 2024. Definitely checkout the review and be sure to like/sub to the channel please :)
The Meta is a great option for an under $90 paddle!
Review coming soon. Have been a big fan of the Delta XL so far. - Dawson
Nice review! There is an insane sale coming up tomorrow 11/6/24. I'm debating between the all court 16mm and control 14 or 16. Sounds like you like the 14mm control the best? I already have a jelly Bean, so I'm just looking for something to add a little variety with more pop and power
Did you meet the Pickleball Pirates?
Haha I’m sure Jim found the PB Pirates lol.
These Dynasty paddles are great! Handle well and generate nice power. Love the heavyweight t700 personally
Hey everyone, our discount code for Apes is ddog_pickleball at checkout.
but what does the "J" stand for?
Good review. Leaning towards this or the maverix clash for all court paddle
Thanks, let us know which way you end up choosing!
Dawson here - currently this is my new main, and the paddle that got me into hybrid shapes. Prior to this paddle I genuinely did not like the hybrid shape in general. Great paddle, highly recommend.
Same shape as the six zero DBD?
They will be banned May next year
@@PickleballHQ why May,25?
@@chongqinghotpot the new USAPA rules and regulations are being changed and are very strict starting Nov 1.
From what we’ve heard they just barely pass new out of the box, again it is all speculation until we see the testing results from USAP.
Is this an actual 5.5 inch handle or can it be a 5.75 like Monarch
It is almost identical to the Monarch handle.
@@DDOG_Pickleball thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it
Anytime :)
First look; but did you place tape along the neckline there?
Yes, we had been testing it fresh out of the box and wanted to add just a small portion to the bottom corners and throat of the paddle to improve twistweight and static weight to where we more prefer to play paddle(s).
We will release a full review on launch day or shortly after launch day - FYI
