#4449's sister locomotive.
SAL seemed to take more pride in maintaining the clean appearance of their locomotives than ACL did.
ive seen her! she resides at the campo railroad museum
I recently found more footage of her, will definitely be uploading that in the future.
@@the8mmrailyard-vd6jd please do i love see her what she looks like in her working life
Everytime I travel near Jarrett VA on I95, I think about the Virginian that travelled thru there on its way to Norfolk. Thanks for sharing
Your welcome, thanks for watching
Would be great to go back to 1966 and see this railroad action first hand. Thanks very much for sharing
W Chester Pike..huh The trolleys shown here were still beung used when I went to Bonner
10:41 Budd Breslin operating #120 with his buddy Grecco behind him, Gary Pfeiffer (RIP) walking out with the car, you can just make out Charlie Long in his grease-covered jumpsuit along with Don Colangelo manning the trolley rope. Lots of hard work by more than few people made this happen.
Great to see some old friends once again
That's very cool! I've been there many times over the years starting in 1982. Thanks for sharing!
3:53 PRR P5A! What a catch!
There are several shots of P5a's in this film, either on their own, or double or triple heading.
Wish 5513 will run again in the future!
That would great
We had a couple a JDs in the 50s
Thanks
There must be several short movies compiled on this video. As the progression of time of seasons and later vintage machines are shown. The 55 combine was a real early one as it has the hand powered long lever for the ground speed control, later versions had a hydraulic control with a short lever, I had both versions of them, they were very good machines for the time. Also notice the corn, the stalks are about 15 inches between them in the row, maybe 12000 plants per acre population? Today it's common to have 30000 ppa, but we use a good bit of fertilizer. Also what are they loading into the spreader? Almost looks like loose dirt? Not like any manure I've ever loaded! Also trying to figure out why the people at the farm demonstration are doing walking through the tall grass? A real interesting study.
I have a locomotive modeled after these locomotives, a total beauty from 1950.
Just showed up again in my feed. is 11:52 the dedication of 1361 at Horseshoe Curve in '57? June 8 per Al Staufer.
How everything has drastically changed today since back in those days.
Oh wow, cool Silver GG-1 and not on a Congo train... is this the Manhattan or Gotham Limited?
good old days
the shot at 9:04 is from Harrisburg station.
Are you sure this is from 1958? The Norfolk and Western Coaches and the N&W coal hoppers seems to suggest this was post the N&W buyout in 1959.
I liked the one showing the Sharon Hill and Media line trolleys back to back approaching Lansdowne Ave. I never minded whether I caught a 101 or a 102 because I could walk home from either just as quick.
I liked that you included the winter films, but it also made me sad - two of my classmates were killed by sledding downhill into a trolley crossing (two separate instances) My grandfather collected fares when the passengers boarded in the middle of the car and the conductor and driver were two different people. And I was a trolley crossing guard on the Media line (School Road / Garrett Road) in my own time. Loved old No. 81 & No. 73 especially. Beautiful trolleys.
OMG... Thanks so much for posting these memories. Wow...Train 17 in the morning! Locomotive 3030 was a regular visitor to Littleton, NC, back then. One evening, many moons ago, we "raced" (paced) it and Train 18 along curvy Highway 158 West after it had pulled out of Littleton, Mars light and all. We had to let it go a mile and a half out of town. The highway speed limit, back in those days, was 60. 18 was already exceeding that and still accelerating.
Your very welcome, and thanks for sharing that great story.
I rang its bell but it didn’t ring😭😭😭😭😭I don’t know why
When did you visit? We might've been doing maintenance (I volunteer at SATM)

Crazy to see those tractors. They were old back then. I have both a 1936 A and B John Deere and they are ancient now. Still use them for field work. Just bought a Deere disk tiller like the one behind the D in this video. Pretty cool to see them working.
what number is the tiller you bought? use to have two 16 foot # 1100 tillers heavy tillers
Not sure. It says John Deere on it and it is about 8 ft wide with steel wheels and 9 disks, I think.
0:30 -0:47 is anyone going to point out the fact a B&O Mikado is pulling a fantrip/excursion?? I never realized this happened, what was the number of that Mikado?
After Penn's Landing closed in 1995, what happened to 26 and the other streetcars? Do they still exist today in 2024, and if yes, they do, where are they now?

Great video! I've ridden them many times there on Delaware Ave. back in the 80 and 90s. My Grandfather was one of the trolley operators.
This is great! Thanks for sharing it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cannot wait for this. 26 was THE definitive trolley when I was a kid!
I hope you enjoy it
@@the8mmrailyard-vd6jd Absolutely fantastic! Thank you.
Fun video to watch those old trains, but could you at least turn down the projector sound? It detracts from the content of what you are presenting. Thanks anyways.
Sorry about that, unfortunately RUclips removed the ability to adjust audio levels for some reason. I did, however, remaster this film. m.ruclips.net/video/R5NSj84i7PM/видео.html&pp=ygURdGhlIDhtbSByYWlseWFyZCA%3D
Pennsylvania railroad was goated
Most of the scenes are Thistle, Utah.
Where was this video taken at?
This was shot in Reading Pennsylvania during the Ironhorse rambles
@the8mmrailyard-vd6jd I meant to say what location was this video taken at.
Great films and memories. I was born in 1953, so the 60s were my memories ( on the Phila main line: Ardmore to Coatesville mainly) I didn't see much steam, but I saw "Paoli locals" commuter cars ( no Air Conditioning), before Budd cars, and lots of GG-1s.
GG1 definitely ruled the rails at that time, thanks for watching and commenting
4:24 - Is this the Whitemarsh Branch (Present-day PA 309)?
Yes I believe so.
The big difference with the GG1 is that where the MP54 had two traction motors on one truck Per Vehicle, the GG1 had two (same rating) traction motors PER AXLE.
Look for the low slung tubular steel Keystone cars on the end of the train. Starts at 4:13.
Los trenes del Pacífico Sur tiñen de humo blanco Estados Unidos.
6:30 That livery was rare.It was either Tuscan or Brunswick
Nice footage. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! There’s more to come
geez i was 5yrs old then...at 4:07 did he just give that guy a sandwich?..great footage!
You might as well call Allen Keller 🥸 for the Model Railroading of the HO Rio Grande.
I love the fantrip on the grassy branch line at about five and a half minutes
Great video, thanks for sharing, from Germany
Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for viewing and commenting, I plan I continuing to post never before seen footage.
The narrow gauge train hauled the uranium to make the first atomic bombs.
That’s a fact I did not know, thanks for sharing that with us. I Actually have quite a bit more Rio Grande, narrow gauge coming in the future.
Additional context: the mine the ore was extracted from was on a different railroad, the Rio Grande Southern. The D&RGW, pictured here, only carried the ore for its final leg to the standard gauge.
