Black Series Stormtrooper Comparison
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.4 года назад
I said it wasn't going to be a review, but it ended up being a quasi-review anyway... Mostly, though, it's a comparison between the original Black Series Stormtrooper figure and the newly-released "Mandalorian" version of the Stormtrooper.

I don't like it, but you have just helped me out more than you know. Thank you so much, man.P.S I love the way your commentary is you're f*****, hilarious

    Hey I bought a figure and right out of the package the pin arm joint thing did just what you said. The plastic went out a bit, so I was wondering how do I fix it?

    • @davidwhale8146
      @davidwhale8146 22 дня назад

      @user-Monke556 soak it in really hot water for a minute to soften it, then pinch it together with your fingers while running it under cold water for 60 seconds. The hit water makes it soft, the cold water hardens it, so you can usually reshape things that way.

    The plastic in my figure in @1:17 is deformed from factory and theres a piece of plastic that looks like its blocking the pin from passing through. How do i fix the plastic and get the pin inserted

    • @davidwhale8146
      @davidwhale8146 26 дней назад

      @AndrewJacobs-tp9zr hard to say for sure without being able to see it, but usually excess plastic can be trimmed away with a hobby knife. You could post a photo on one of the Facebook customizing groups and get a better answer I expect.

    I use wooden skewers ($5 for pack of 100) to push the pins out. Metal can still damage/blemish a pin head.

    • @davidwhale8146
      @davidwhale8146 5 месяцев назад

      @Stormnorman15 I use Nuln Oil and Agrax Earthshade on smaller things, not on a full figure. I find they darken light colours a little too much (and they're four times the cost of the paints I used in this video).

    a good substitute for glue would be uv resin

  • @Ibaneddie76
    @Ibaneddie76 9 месяцев назад

    One thing I do is hit the areas where the hot glue touches the inside of the head with super thin CA glue and let it wick in giving the hot glue a stronger bond so there is less chance of it separating if you take the head off more than a few times. Use a scalpel or plastic tooth pick/ glue loop to drop the glue so you don't get any CA on your paint job, it will ruin it!

    Would air dry clay work just as well as hot glue?

    • @davidwhale8146
      @davidwhale8146 11 месяцев назад

      No. The reason the hot glue works is that it remains a little flexible after it dries - I don't believe air dry clay would.

    • @davidwhale8146
      @davidwhale8146 Год назад

      Do NOT use superglue, you will fuse the joint. The reason hot glue works is that even when it hardens it still remains slightly pliable. Superglue does not.

    This is great thank you 🙏🏼 can I ask where the knight action figure comes from also please ?

    • @davidwhale8146
      @davidwhale8146 Год назад

      No problem. The knight is the Red Shield Knight figure from a line called Mythic Legions. They get very expensive on the secondary market, so if you're looking to get in on the line, you'll want to get the latest stuff or even preorder. A markup of 300% or more above retail is not unusual on the secondary market.

      As long as you don't get the paint in the joints, you should be fine. But an alternative you could look at is Gundam Markers to do panel lining. It's less "dirty" than this weathering, but still makes all the details pop.
