Gteetings from Canada. I know you don't need to imagine that this was the first Nightwish music/video you ever heard/saw!!! This RUclips video is how RUclips first introduced me to Nightwish a couple of years ago. I was totally amazed by the band, the performance, Floor, and the subject of the song. Took some time to scrape my jaw off the ground. I have not stopped listening to them and saw them live virtually twice in May 2021 and live in Montreal in May 2022. Nightwish have no plans for touring the new album that will be released in Sept 2024, but they have recently released a well produced new music video for one of the songs called Perfume of the Timeless. It is about all the ancestors that brought us to our here and now. It was released on the Nightwish channel.

When the girls of Nemophila started chanting...do you know what it reminded me of? The first thing that I thought of when hearing the song for the very first time??? Made me think of Marylin Manson: " Be-obscene, be-be obscene, be-obscene be-be obscene"))) John 5 ripping on the guitar while girls were chanting. Yeah, I love Marylin Manson)))

Its not just Floor (best female metal vocalist in the world), its the whole band. Just fantastic. Nobody else is not even close to them if we re talking about symphonic metal genre. This song is the greatest work from Tuomas (keyboardist), the modern day Mozzart. Nightwish is special no doubt of that. Love them for a long time, but with Floor they just hit another dimension. PERFECTION! This song is about life and evolution by natural selection based on Richard Dawkings book of the same name. He is a british biologist. He even showed in the end to say his quote from the book (which they used in the song). Nighwish is amazing. Follow suggestions and enjoy the ride. Next one should be Ghost Love Score-Wacken 2013. In 2013 she was relatively new to the band which started in the early 2000. The band is from Finland. Wacken is an outdoor music festival in Germany. There was 80,000 in the crowd. Although everyone loved Nightwish, it was the first time they had seen Floor Jansen. Most left hailing their new Queen. One of the best and most beautiful songs on looking down on others and on kicking others, that I ever experienced. Moves me to tears every time I listen to it. I am American and I have not paid attention to music here for 30 years - too much commercial bull shit with vocals corrected with Autotune - Nightwish might play to a few hundred fans in a small venue in the States and then play to 80,000 plus headlining a summer festival in Europe - they were the first Finish band to ever headline Wimbley in London and they sold it completely out - the talent of European metal music is second to none but you had to go and look for it - I discovered Nightwish back in 2005 and Floor Jansen even before that with her first band After Forever - you are just entering this, way beyond massive, area of pure talent so prepare to have you head blown off off of your shoulders - I always hear the comparison to Amy Lee and Evanescence only because of a couple of songs they had 20 years ago that sound somewhat similar but that shows you that most Americans only have that to compare bands like Nightwish to but you will soon find out how far apart that they relay are - welcome to the journey of your life

Because Nightwish are the subject of so many reaction videos, it's arguable that You Tube doesn't really need yet another reaction to Ghost Love Score (Live either at Wacken or Buenos Aires) or Storytime (Live at Wacken) or Romanticide (Live at Wacken) or The Poet and The Pendulum (Live at Wembley) (although it would be a shame if you were to miss out on just how truly wonderful these songs are), instead I would suggest taking a path less trodden and to focus on songs that are not normally part of the usual reacted-to cohort and, in particular, songs from Human::Nature (which I think is not only their best album but, in essence, consolidated them as being in their own genre composing musical forms of such melodic or rhythmic complexity that no other band is even close) and 'Pan' (the official lyric video) and 'Shoemaker' (Live in Toronto) from the H:N album come to mind. Welcome to a new musical journey that will enrich your soul.

Concerning who the guitarist (Emppu Vuorinen) reminds you of - Police Academy was a series of movies (it was also a brief tv series that was entirely forgettable). It sounds like you are combining 2 characters. Bobcat Goldthwait, who has a weird screechy high voice, who appeared in Police Academy 3 and Michael Winslow (appeared in all the PA movies) who did all sorts of sound effects.

Why you've never heard about them? Think of it this way: turn on your radio and see what's on. Chances are, not Metallica, Queen, Rammstein, Iron Maiden and similar superbands, because radio is controlled by menagers. USA is closed in, sort of selfimposed embargo on good music. Nighwish is the best symphonic metal band for close to 30 years now. You'll be pleasantly surprised if you continue this journey.
