You have truly inspired me to start my 2nd loc journey. Unfortunately I had locs for 4 years before and they were beautiful. I combed them out because the person who put them in had bad energy (abusive ex). I believe in energy transfer, so they had to come out. But now 6 years later I am ready to do them myself. I started my two strand locs myself I wanted to part it a certain way.

I started mine and one of my daughters myself. We just about 1 year loc and loving it! ❤ I started both with 2 strand twist then I interlocked on the first touch up and continued retwist with the support of an amazing loctician close by 💋

My hairstylist didn't ask me what I wanted she just did my one year loc retwist and she told me she just gave me comb coils

If I had known that the 2 strand would be fuller looking when starting on with waist length hair, I would have gotten them instead of the comb coils. Another reason would be the unveiling of the coils due to washing them would definitely play a huge part in the decision of which method to start with 😊. I’m going into my month 31 and have since combined a lot of my dreads with the 2strand method. because wanted to change my count. It’s like you said though not much difference in the 2 methods as the dread matures! Enjoyed the watch and thank you for sharing 👍🏾

I’m glad you said it’s easier to wash my hair, with the 2 strand twists, cus I just started my 2 strand twists, 2 weeks ago & the itching, due to not washing my scalp in 2 wks has been horrible. It got so bad, I felt like a chimpanzee at the zoo, when they pick stuff outta each other’s hair.😩So, I bought some tea tree oil, with a dropper, cus it’s an anti-bacterial & I was like lawd have mercy, I’m not tryin to get a bacterial infection, to have locs. I been starting locs & taking them down, since the 90’s, by the 1st frizzy week & just could not go thru the “ugly” stage, that’s what I’ve always called it, cus I just would feel like Celie in the Color Purple, or like I was in the cotton fields, just not professional looking. HOWEVER, I’ve been having all kinda changes & metamorphosis, on my ascension journey & went for broke this time & I’m going all the way now. I actually had to retwist the roots & learned to twist & clip right here on youtube & I am so proud of mycellf. The “ugly” stage passed & I got my spray bottle coming tomorrow & am understanding how to care for my starter locks, so I’m excited. Like you, I have different size twists & made my parts according to how I like framing my face & I was feelin mycellf yesterday. When I shook my twists out yesterday, 2 or 3 of them are literally starting to lock already & I was like you go girl. I was feeling cute, like my fatter locks are gon be like Lauryn Hill’s when she won all those Grammys. It’s just nice to start feeling attractive again. I know beauty is only skin deep & true lasting beauty comes from the soul, but I’m out here in this matrix, with the rest of us & vanity still got the best of me, but this time, I said F it & just affirmed mycellf thru the process, of letting go & fully embracing mycellf, even the grays that are coming in. As much as I was loving how my hair was feeling locish yesterday, the feeling of being so organic is replacing the need to look a certain way. So, I’m rollin with it. Thanks so much for the video.🤗
