How I lost £15k through demo no-shows( and how I’m fixing it)
No shows can be super frustrating to software demo. Here’s why I believe it happened this time:
1. Lack of Pain found in the discovery phase of my first call
2. Lack of urgency and time pressure in the offer.
Working to improve it now, hope this helps.

I wish we were friends
keep going, keep pushing!
One of the things I like to do in these scenarios is book in the next call at the end of the current call. So for example Graham, ''summarise my action points'' , what are your next steps? 'ok can we agree our next meeting now, how is later this week/next week for you so we can avoid telephone tennis/missing each other. 90% plus of the time they agree and book the next call. If they hesitate or decline it's a sign they might not be interested and you can ask why not and get into that discussion.
Yep I try my very best to BAMFAM ( book a meeting from a meeting). I like the way you’ve phrased it there too, “so we don’t miss each other”. Good comment mate!
incentives are not aligned, that's a problem
that's for sure bro!
Hey i recently reached out to via email but didnt get a reply back from you
to prioritize features, I like to use effort/value ratio the most challenging part is to understand value measurement
Are there no rules against this kind of advertising on linkedin tho? I assume it wouldn't necessarily matter too much regardless untill some automated linkedin curation finds a bit too much repetition in messages
Are you planning to visit Malaysia soon? There's a digital nomad visa pass for digital nomads for about 1-2 years period. Good luck 👍
@@syamiljamil wow didn’t know that, thanks for letting me know 🙌
Very insightful! Now that you've raised a not insignificant amount of money, how long before you need to start thinking about your series a round? Best of luck!
Thanks dude! We used the first money to validate, get first 15 customers. Perhaps another raise in the near future!
Really enjoy your inputs on entrepreneurship and your journey :) Keep it going!
Cheers Robin!
Graham you talk about this golf software... You know, it'd be really advantageous for you to take 15 seconds or so explaining what it is and linking it or giving us a means to check it out...
sure Michael, here is the project I'm working on! handicaddie.com/ Appreciate your interaction with the videos
Exposure game strong @3:00
film not perfect yet but getting there!
The grind, it never come easy. My product is an individual based platform, harder to sell than agencies, I am developing and doing sales all by myself, all while working full time as a doctor. Tried to get some devs on board, but they were messing up the codebase so I fired them lol
interesting mate, have you tried to find a technical co-founder? I found that this was a huge help to me getting started as: - you don't have to pay them( assuming sweat equity) - you can spend time on calls with them to identify what product developments need to happen I've heard nightmare stories of people that go straight to dev houses, so your not alone! Happy to give any guidance here to get you off the ground.
Nice👍 Good vid!
Cheers my man!
Hello✋ Well done👍

holy cow bro, that's great work

I agree. This is not a negotiable thing, but only for a set period of time. Thanks for the input!
Was your sales trainer Mr Dennehy by any chance?
It's a guy called Matt Wolach, he has a nice RUclips Channel and is very specific to Software sales!

Hey fella...well done. Upwards and onwards.

What is it you’re selling to the golf clubs?
Hey dude, it's software that helps the club communicate with their caddies! There's a round 6000 clubs in the world who have caddies ⛳

Thanks for the Clandeboye GC mention Frederick. Great job Graham with the podcast. Is that an NI accent? If you are back in NI look us up at Clandeboye comedown for a game. Keep up the good work, both of you. Andrew.
Appreciate that Andrew!
My pleasure Luke !
Thanks for having me on Graham!! It was great getting to chat with you. Looking forward to our next one 😊
Great point that Tech Should make life easier for the operators! That's what sells it to the operator but what ends up making it thrive is it making life easier for the golfers & Guests. . Health & Safety is a beast, good to see tech making things easier with obbi. . I am in a startup right now as well so I can definitely relate to you guys talking about the ups and downs. . An all-in-one system is something I've searched for at my golf course for over a decade. The closest I've come to it is using Square, it was missing a Tee Sheet so I co-founded a booking software called Birrdi that integrates with Square. Good convo guys!
Great episode Graham
