Space between two tiles is primary required to protect them from stress generated because of thermal expansion or other Structural movement. This space then needs to be filled by a good grout which should also have deformability. Whatever finish or design your tiles have, it doesn't change the fact. When it comes to tiles, manufacturers across the Globe have been trying to minimise the curvature. Some amount of curvature should be considered as a characteristic of ceramic tiles, not defect. Larger the size of tile, more it gets visible. Also, degree may differ for unglazed and glazed tiles. I can say that what dimensional perfection good manufacturers (globally) are producing today, was never there for huge size tiles. Both could be durable. Smaller the tile, lesser curvature / warpage is visible. For house flooring, if you are looking for glossy finish floor tiles, go for 2x2 Double Charge tiles from some good brand like Johnson/ Simpolo / Kajaria, etc which will be economic as qell as durable tiles. - Team OTF
