I’d like express not just my concerns but also the concerns of my fellow colleagues. I work for a well known car manufacturer in the West Midlands. We do NOT feel safe going to work. We walk in to a manufacturing plant that exceeds 350 people every working day, there are three shifts over a 24 hour period. The social distancing measures and procedures that are in place are simply NOT good enough and feel the companies concerned are simply ticking boxes in order to proceed with business and avoid litigation! We (the working class people of the West Midlands) feel like we are cannon fodder in the war on COVID. We need to temporarily close the larger of the factories in industry until the majority of people are vaccinated before the local NHS services are completely overwhelmed (they’re struggling at the moment) and we haven’t reached the peak of this wave yet!! If furlough has been extended until April then why aren’t we using it!???
