How to Clean and Revive Vintage Wood Cabinets
Просмотров 16 тыс.Год назад
My 1960s kitchen cabinets were covered in grease, grime, dust and caked-on food. I wanted to clean them up and restore their original shine without damaging the finish of the wood. The trick I used: 1/4 cup of Murphy Oil Soap diluted in a gallon of hot water. This soap safely cleans wood and restores the natural shine. I applied it to the cabinets with a soft, nonabrasive sponge, let it sit for...
Adding a Light to a Vintage Blow Mold | Halloween DIY

We found this vintage pumpkin blow mold wearing a cute witch’s hat, but it was just missing a light. So I ordered a blow mold light and used a step drill bit to expand the hole in the bottom of the pumpkin and light it up. I did this very same thing @35 years ago with cellulose fiber. The loader; my wife; kept me loaded up just fine. On your loading , I feel like I would have gone to thirds to facilitate it being loading without so much strain. Looks like a good job. Mine was fine 11 years afterwards when I sold the house. It had settled to the rafters and was still doing well. Great video.

Great vid. Especially the Shop Vac Reverso move. I was wondering how I'd clear those baffles after having blown a bunch of insulation into them during the job. Also, as you mentioned, you'll lower your heating costs, but another benefit I'm looking forward to is the "evening out" of temperature fluctuations between our 3 levels: basement, main floor, and upstairs. Right now, the basement is an oven in the winter (if you want to NOT freeze upstairs) and a meat locker in the summer (if you don't want to be roasted upstairs.) Actually, the money I'll save in reduced winter heating and summer cooling pales in comparison what I would pay to silence complaints about temperature fluctuations in the house. This will definitely be money well spent!! Thanks for the pointers!!

I am going to check my ceiling joists support to make sure it can handle the added weight - live load and dead load to avoid damages to the joists and drywall bowing from 24 o/c. I unfortunately don't do well with the smell of Murphy's Oil........I was wondering if it's okay to just use a sponge like this with just "Weiman's Cabinet & Wood Cleaner + Polish on my cabinets? My cabinets are about 17 years old and I have not done a good deep clean or polish in years in about 4 years. I was wondering if it's okay to just use the Weiman's as an all in one or should I use dawn and warm water first? If I did go this route is okay to just use the dawn and warm water first and then a wood oil polish, or should I mix it together like you have done in this video?

I'm thinking a little outside the box and exploring the idea of using radiant barrier paint to up the R factor even more so by painting the attic side of the ceiling, see if that happens or not. I have an embody and aeron (gaming versions) and while yes the padding is thin on the embody, its completely flat basically and I think the design issue is related to how the seat can be designed to take pressure off pushing up on your glute area in which some ergonomic chairs I have sat in will sort of have this "dip" near the rear so that it takes pressure off. There was an ergonomic "mesh" chair just like this at a furnished apartment that I used for 3 years and I never felt uncomfortable in it and the chair was probably not more than $200 which to me shows how ridiculous this price gouging is for these ergonomic chairs.
