Fantastic! We went inside the Airspeed Oxford at RAF Hendon, London recently. Great aircraft!
Very proud as a Kiwi Air Force kid watching this. Mum and Dad met on the P3 Orions and my uncle (Grant Pringle) has done an amazing job working on and looking after these magnificent aircraft 👍
ruclips.net/video/IFzp9YtA-2Y/видео.html
P3 flying displays at airshows are always a highlight..these things made a great sound!
Wish there was one ore flight I could catch. PLEASE lol. I used to go to air force base KindyTe Rapa. No planes or anything, but so cool just being there. You people have done so much. Now actually called The Base
Last week I saw 3 of them do their last fly over in Waiuku at exactly 1pm on Monday 3/2/2025. Got it on video. Cried with excitement and a little bit of sadness. Thank you for your service 🫡
I had the very great pleasure of seeing three of these fly in and land at Invercargill Airport earlier this week; and I returned the following day to watch them take off and then fly overhead in formation. They were quite a sight!
When my mum was in the army and worked at Ohakea 25 year ago, I use to take the Friday flight to Auckland to go to my grandmothers. Solid beasts.
It was amazing but also there was a sadness to see the 3 hercules fly over Greymouth last week. Rest in peace wonderful workhorse.
I have to say, of all the military aircraft I have been on. You Kiwis had the best maintained bird I had ever seen. I was blown away that the Herc was that old and looked like it just rolled off the line. "Its never Easy." Well done yall.
This is awesome! Was so awesome to grow up with these and come to the retirement ! X
18 years as a TF in the RNZAF and the Herc was our transportation. I always found them very hot to ride in, but I loved being moved around NZ in them. Wonderful memories and a wonderful airframe. Thanks for the amazing sendoff here team!
How many sheep can you get in one of these?
Yup i flew in that bad boy in 1996 awesome memory
What a great piece of history 👍
Hang on. They were using them for beer runs? Why the hell are we getting rid of them?
And the other two?
What a wonderful plane, very reliable aircraft.
I felt emotional watching this. Like saying goodbye to Dad all over again. Thanks for the film Gordon and thanks to the five zeros for giving Dad the best years of his life. And mine. I can still remember the smell of the aircraft in the 70s as I sat on the jump seat behind Dad. And the day we got struck by lightening as I was standing at the window. 😂 To the four winds!
dont think people realise that ours were the oldest in the world. the original aircraft that were delivered in the 60s
Definitely a special feeling seeing them every time I saw them. Was luckily enough to have them fly over my house on Monday.
What has replaced them ?
C-130J super Hercules
I'm surprised they made it as far as Invercargill without breaking down somewhere.
RIP Herclues, what a lovely video. They flew over my home in Dunedin last week, to say goodbye..
They must get 50m from my house so loud! when they fly over must be training for the new pilots. as we are 5 minutes to the airbase in whenuapai.
Avionics 1973-4 Whenuapai 59b radar remember servicing dopplar antenna underneath etc Ute maybe -Truck more like... me at seventy seems she kept her good looks better in old age.
Love the Orion
❤😉
Would love to see one in a museum
We were on our break in Timaru and they flew low and proud over our heads. Just amazing. We were literally speechless.
Awesome video. thank you for sharing.
Was always an amazing site when they flew over Northland.
Amazing how this plane got #1 tracked in the whole world when its flight to the air base got on flight radar 24!!!
Would’ve been cool if it was just made electric that way it could still be flying today
no it couldn't. the airframe is too old.
It’s not impossible it’s “I’m possible”
@@isaiahvlogs20 I don't think you understand what end of life means...
@@christjan08 that’s not true
@@isaiahvlogs20 what's not true? That these aircraft are at the end of their serviceable life??
I live under a flight path near Whenuapai. As a kid, when I heard these planes overhead, I'd drop everything I was doing to run outside to see them fly past. 20 years later, I'm still doing it. I watched a pair of the new C-130Js doing figure-eights over the Waitakere ranges just over a week ago, still makes me giddy.
The same for me but I live on the flight path to Woodbourne when there’s a westerly wind
Whenuapai kids will always be looking up at the skies for them. Even in class we would be excited to seem them out the window. Someone's dad will be home for dinner that night
Me too! But for 40 years 😂
Ute of the sky!
Thank you for your service, one and all involved.
Nice

A big THANK YOU to the team for flying over Paraparaumu the other day. I'd just gone outside for a breath of fresh air, and thought before seeing them something along the lines of, that sounds a bit larger than a Cessna.
Heard the same in Greymouth, West Coast. 3 hercs in a row flew straight over town and hard banked towards the ocean, awesome sight. Definitely wasn't a small plane but they were flying like one!
Saw the same while taking a walk in western springs!
Man we were so excited to see this come over Mt Cook and you guys flew down the Hopkins instead 😓
Can't wait to see them land at wigram airbase. I saw the runway at Woodburn marked out to the exact same size as the grass one at wigram as it is now so they can train to land. Chch will know when it's coming as the grass runway at wigram will be mowed.
Wow the c130 imma sub
Grant Pringle! I remember making tea for you at 3 Squadron thirty years ago. You’re looking great sir.
seen then fly low over milton, dunedin the other day. Amazing!
So is that why one flew over my house a few days ago?
I am from the Solomon Islands in the Pacific a big thank to the RNZAF C130 H team, you have certainly served the pacific including my nation above and beyond. Watching this send off video it reminds me of the missions that the RNZAF C130 H (NZ) and the RNZAF as a whole served in Solomon Islands ranging from Operation helpem Fren (RAMSI), many Disaster Response and Relief Supplies Air lifts supports, Search & Rescues, Disaster Rapid Assessment by air, and the recent National General Elections, a big that you to all RNZAF for your support in our time of need. Yes we to in the Solomon too will miss the sound of the C130 H (NZ) and the fly by over our skies. To the air crews, maintenance ground crews of the C130H (NZ) job well-done, MISSION ACCOMPLISH... We all Salute you, thank you for your service & dedication.
I saw 3 of them doing their last fly over, it was incredible sight to see such large planes flying low and weaving all over the sky showing off how versatile they are.
Saw them over Wellington! Only time I'll ever look at Airplanes flying over
beautiful send off for a brilliant work horse great video
Thank you, to everyone who have used this aircraft for humanitarian aspects and for looking after them so that they could do this role. As a helicopter pilot, I respect pilots of aircraft that are so large and have a lot of effective power. This video nearly had tears in my eyes, the C-130 has been a real thing for New Zealand for so many years. Thanks for the video!!
What a beautiful video, and a lovely send off for the old birds. I honestly think the Herc is the greatest aircraft ever built in my opinion.
