Housatonic River at the Stevenson dam, October 3, 2018.

A quick and scenic flight over and around the Stevenson dam and hydroelectric station after what seems like weeks of heavy rain in the eastern part of the country. The flood gate(s) was only partially open on one side so, the potential energy held back by this aging structure is enormous. *This area of drone flying is not recommended for the novice*

There's a abandoned neighborhood behind the old Norwich state hospital
This guy makes it into a big mystery for no reason. 😂. People in the comments already figured it out without even going there. It’s no longer used houses at Southbury Connecticut School. They still own the land.
No sound no information
All the red tape left is from the containment’s built to remove Asbestos and lead.
@Themightymoze This is an incredible video! Thank you! My father used to work there and spent alot of time there as a child. Is it possible to get a copy/scan of the mall blueprint?
Thanks for sharing! Recently moved from CT and never got around to checking this place out. Hopefully I’m able to at some point
It can't be to abandoned if the lawns are being mowed
Can't be that abandon someone's taking care of the lawns and houses look in decent shape
My great grandfather JAMES WILSON BAILEY was a desendant of Town founders John and Lydia Bailey . From Minnesota .
Mine runs in miles just hit 4700
One of my early productions- I had better equipment than skills back then.
Used to work here from April of 2000 to May of 2006 when I came on board to support building one of IBM's first server farms before they expanded into co-location sites in Secaucus, NJ. There were 3 main buildings - A, B, and C. At 1:08, the nearest building was C, the middle section was B, and the furthest out past the far parking lot was A. When I first started in 2000, this place was so busy that parking went all the way back to where the video starts. It was impossible to find any parking closer to the building if you came in past 9am. I think there was close to 4000 people working onsite at that time maybe a bit less. I remember a lot of bean counters and account executives working out of the C side. B building was where the datacenter and technical support teams worked out of. Managers mostly worked out of the A side of the complex. The middle section closest to the power facility was shipping and receiving, reception, and the cafeteria which was originally managed my Marriott Hotels for a short period of time. As the years went on, fewer and fewer people were onsite as most people were working remotely. I left when I had some family things come up back home but even at the start of 2005, things started to wind down for the onsite hosting environment as more and more of their offering was virtualized at co-location sites. Come to think of it, that was around the time IBM was divesting themselves of a number of their hardware divisions (laptops, hard drives, semi-conductor etc) and focusing more and more on services. To Don, Dave, Mike, John, "Cooney", Lucy, Lisa, Robyn, "The Floor Planners", the security staff.... and the "Great One" Jerry Mizell, may he eternally RIP.... miss you guys.
I saw original arcitectual documents of this building today in a mayor german art exhibition. I was wondering what happend to that building. What a shame to see it in this conditon, it has great potential.
This is The PV Village Located Off South Brittain road which is in Southbury CT and is Owned by the STATE OF CONNECTICUT DEPARTMENT OF DDS AND IS PRIVATE PROPERTY all residents have been moved out and relocated within the last 10 years!!!!!
Something happened there very shady and its being covered up and not investigated
In 1988 I worked in this building when he came in, the kitchen area. Incredible to see it again!
Is this Dudleytown?
Where the Sandy hook crisis actors lived
Same thing at the Norwich State Hospital. Abandoned staff doctor's houses.
Roesslers is the name of the hot dog - it’s a brand like Hummel.
the twilight zone. must have felt eerie being around an abandoned community. anyone knows the exact cause for the abandonment?
I think this was the cash cow. They were maintaining all those lawns and getting paid. Once your first video hit, accountability stepped in. If the siding was removed, was the copper wire and plumbing removed too? Maybe the fire dept is going to use them homes as practice homes. If the street lights are on at night, that might answer other questions. An up date would be awesome to see
Waiting for the zombies and to come out 👀
Hasn't anybody tried contacting any owners of the homes through public records with the city hall what was the responses I wonder maybe they're not really
I used to work at Roeselers in Norwich CT. .What a cool place to work
bro rly gatekeeping such a cool spot what a LOSER
Supposedly when you smell something burning it’s spiritual
Love it, thank you so much for posting, lived there "63-"67, magical years in a safe place for kids to grow up
Time to spill the beans it’s called southburry training school well that’s not the training school that’s where the nurses and family’s lived so they could wake up and go to work quickly also some people think it’s haunted because the nurses and workers that worked at the training school apparently did bad things to the mentally ill students so when the nurses died they made a grave yard for them and their spirits “ haunted the village”
Ive driven past this place so many times. its so weird. it looks like it was so popular back in the day. the mobs influence never left that place. people have tried to rebuild it. all attempts have failed.
Buyer Beware. My brother was sold such a house w/out a Certificate of Occupancy. Quasi police from the Town were not able to be prevented from coming and coming to get my brother to say the words himself. "Get me OFF man." "I am wasted MAN." He had a 30 year mortgage and no Certificate of Occupancy. Any such mortgage should have been nullified but he was not a State resident living in that house to have the Town, State or County help him. How much the police sitting with him watching him inhale a roach were laughing when he knew to say the words himself even.
I know a handful of people that worked at that facility and they all confirmed that the incinerator was never used as a crematorium. In fact laws and the Environmental Protection Agency forbid that to happen. Crematoriums have to have special licensing and special filtration systems for the exhaust that come from those facilities. The “stretcher” was likely placed in that area by a previous explorer to make it look as though that May have happened. So, the truth is “never happened”.
It's so sad, family's had lives
Was was this a banded?
If this was where I live in CT those houses would be stripped of all metal and full of graffiti and drug paraphernalia 🤣🤣🤣
So... Why isn't this like a party place??? There's gotta be homeless Fetty addicts or tweakers out there SOMEWHERE... Right?
so why are these neighborhoods abandoned?? Beautiful place..
This is squatter heaven they will be coming now lol
Is this guy riding on a tractor?

Disrespectful. Your running over graves.
The Gass I cut. Has to be someone maintaining it. So can't be abandoned.
What is the address ?
Found online...This place is completely closed off to the public and has no car access, which is why most people don't know it's there. But it used to be residences for the staff of the Southbury Training School, a school for people with disabilities. To this day, the roads are maintained, the lawns mowed, and the hydrants freshly painted, in spite of the lack of residents, and it doesn't help that it's part of a 1,600 acre campus.
I just walked in it's really easy to get to.
I worked there as well, back in the late 70's, the staff dining room, Cafateria style was call P-4. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to the staff..If you worked there, you could live on grounds with meals included, for very little $$$. Was a great place to work...let's not forget about "SUGAR HILL"
Thats weird I live in Middlebury and never knew, tho the road and houses are not overgrown with weeds/grass etc so someome must maintain somehow
What abandoned town is this?
