    These are incredibly good built machines. I cut with the 54 inch variant. They’re definitely more expensive, but sometimes you do get what you pay for. Necessity if you have a larger yard.

    Since this part broke once I would order another for a spare so when it breaks again you can fix in an hour instead of weeks later. Reduce your downtime! Also, it looks like some of those hoses at the back rub sharp edges which eventually will cut your hoses or wires. Use pool noodles or tape around the hoses or wires to protect them. Obviously it’s built as cheap as possible but a little maintenance and slight improvements looks like it will go a long way.

    Where did you find out how to adjust the blade back. Mine is the Deluxe but the chain has stopped and the splitter also. No close dealers. I’m stuck with anew machine that does not work.

    • @dykstradave3955
      @dykstradave3955 6 месяцев назад

      Hey Paul sorry I was away for a while. All the adjustments I basically figured out my self. But I would reach out to your distributor for their help. Adjusting the chain tension is pretty straightforward. Losses the two bolts at the base of the saw bar and then using an Allen key just above those two bolts to tighten chain and then retighten those two bolts.

  • @paullandry4031
    @paullandry4031 8 месяцев назад

    Wow most interesting. You are patient. I have the deluxe with less hours than you - now the cylinder pushing the wood won’t come out and the saw no longer works - all suddenly while I was working. Very annoying - I don’t know how to fix that. Dealer 2 hrs away suggests I bring the Red Runner to him.

    Dave, have you noticed that it has trouble sucking up leaves? Curious as I just picked up the new model for 23 and first time out seemed like it was shooting more leaves out of the deck than was sucking up. Kinda frustrating. Lmk what your experience has been. Thanks

    • @dykstradave3955
      @dykstradave3955 8 месяцев назад

      Yes, I do find that you can only pick up a light amount of leaves, otherewise like you said it shoots more leaves out the bottom. And even if does suck up the leaves they do not get mulched well and very quickly fills the bags. So I do feel your frustration during fall clean ups.

Has it paid for it self in all the cords of wood I have sold, yes, has it made my life easier - big YES. This is a not a commercial unit, it’s a “homesteader unit”. But I use a lot often putting in 8 hr days running. The unit does require daily adjustments, clearly has some short falls on engineering. But the quality is actually pretty impressive.

    Hey Dave. Beautiful Nov 22 day today and I was out using my standard and the same thing with the ram on the saw. Mine bent all to hell and I’m very disappointed. The cover needs to be beefed up a ton to withstand the constant pressure. Did the little braces in the corners hold up? Does it need more and thicker bracing? I’m thinking throughout that cover. I’ve called and left a message with Darrell. I’m hoping he will get back to me really soon. I’m wanting to take full advantage of this weather.

    • @dykstradave3955
      @dykstradave3955 Год назад

      Sorry for not responding quicker, yes so far those braces have. But I can still see flexing of the cover during operation.

    • @daveandtina1
      @daveandtina1 Год назад

      Darrell didn’t help. I went right to Pascal in PQ. They sent me a new hood and some corner bracing and another brace for the back ram. The hood is a thicker gage steel as well. I have the hood all welded back up and now I’m waiting to get the lot plowed out to see what happens. Let’s hope this is a good fix.

      Yes Travis I would still give it a buy rating. Compared to other competitors this model is nearly half price. Like anything it does have a few short falls, but they are easy to fix, and if you know the weaknesses in advance you can be prepared. So yes I would 100% buy again. I mean I would love a $50,000 commercial model but that simply is not in the budget.

    Interesting cause to the parts failure. Bigger processors like a Japa goes 4-5 cords or so on one chain sharpening. Also don't forget to adjust the raker depth, same as you'd do on a chainsaw. (Am sure you know this, just saying for other people new to firewood and stuff)
