    I thought the truck was posessed for a while. Then it got annoying and i put my foot through the center console and fixed the noise.. now my buddy has the same noise but have to fix a different way.., thanks sir.. oh and no need for a whole intro with 500 subscribers man.. makes the whole thing seem lame, especially with your slower dialect and chill demeanor.. its just a video about some shit your doing.. not some kinda show or episode..

    I have the same engine and got a P0016 code. I replaced the sensor but no luck, I removed the sensor and used my bore scope and could clearly see the exhaust sprocket phaser was 80% gone. I opened the small inspection door below it and just so happened this broken phaser was hanging on a bolt so I fished it out - LUCKY!! Do you know if this sprocket can be replaced by just removing the valve cover and not taking the entire timing chain cover out?

    I want to change the rear differential oil on my 2005 Highlander V6 four-wheel-drive but I’m confused if the differential has LSD in which case I would want gear oil with LSD additives. In the factory service manual for rebuilding differential it does mention coating a carrier seal with LSD hypoid oil so that makes me think it is an LSD but I’m not sure.

    I’m currently using the screw in hooks and rafter hooks for my “collection”. The screw in hooks only fit the skinny wheels and mountain bike or fat tires don’t fit. The rafter hooks marketed for ladders work well to a point. They are handy because they will fit all the tires, require no tools to install, can be moved easily, and I already had them. But the cost of both items that don’t exactly fit my needs has greatly increased and the rafter hooks are limited to the direction of the rafters. While this sliding rack doesn’t fit my situation, it does inspire ideas for something that might. At least until I can purchase a warehouse to store all my things neatly 🤪 I like that you used materials available and showed the progression of the difference versions. Of course riding bikes is more fun than storing them. Perhaps some of us will meet out on the trails 👍😎

    The electric contacts will not create any noise. Only something worn/binding on the mechanical side will cause the noise. If the electric contacts were actually dirty(the electric connectors don’t get “dirty” on their own. If you spill liquids on them, leave unplugged for a while and live near the ocean) The fact it is making noise tells you the electric circuit is good. I’m curious if the noise went away Did clean work

    • @ninjamechanics
      @ninjamechanics Год назад

      the noise comes from continuous turning of the motor. it's not connectors. it's contact switch with rotating arm. if you take yours apart , it will make sense. the motor needs to stop after moving the vent to the correct channel., but when the sliding switch contact is compromised it won't allow the motor to turn off which is the noise. And yes if the cleaning the contact ( we are not dealing with any of the connectors) the motor stops as soon as the vent is switched, and absolutely no noise. I did the job about 2yrs ago. still no issue. Disassembly the unit and it will make sense to you if you understand some electronics. cheers

Bit I wound not attempt this job for ppl without good amount of mechanical job previously. If you do have some good experience, I would look through this section of factory manual very well and if you do feel comfortable with what is involved, then maybe. but this is a little beyond DIY unless you have some previous exposure. I have a 2006 Toyota Prado 120 (Australia model) and have 308,000 ks and have no issue with head gaskets or timing chain. Unless you are not doing regular oil changes your timing chain should last you well over 400,000 + klm. Toyota are known for quality parts at least around those years. Yes the 1GRFE is known for the odd head gasket and water pump and oil leak between head & timing cover but that's not such a problem if you do regular oil changes. In regards to water pump, regular coolant changes is key but they are known for gasket leaks if anything. MAINTENANCE IS THE KEY. Get to know your vehicle.

    Great video. I looked this subject up due to me needing to replace the bearings in a 2009 Tacoma for a client of mine. I did not want to purchase the tool because I most likely won't use it again and at the cost of almost $200. I'm a veteran in this vocation of over 39 years and I've replaced many, many axle bearings in my time behind the wrench. Just about every other bearing I've replaced I've been able to tackle with some creative ingenuity, a press, a dremel tool and a hot wrench, (torch). Not this one though. I regretted selling the bearings to my client once I took the axles out, but she's a great customer and I aim to please, so I was committed. I called the dealer to ask if they would remove the bearings only with me providing them axles in hand. Not re-install the new ones. One dealer said no and the other one said, "Sure, we'll do that for you and the cost would be $368.00 per bearing/axle.", knowing I was handing the axles to them and not having them perform the entire job. Ridiculously out of line with that price. With the proper tools, the job can be completed by a D level tech in less than 30 minutes for each one. I was willing to pony up $60 each for just the removal, but no more or I'd just buy the tool and do it myself. Anywho, I printed a picture copy of the special tool and decided to attempt to make a tool using my fabricating skills. And I did so with success. It took about an hour or so to design and fab the tool. I used some heavy duty 3/16 angle steel that was used in packaging and delivery of one of my vehicle lifts years ago. Drilled the holes for the backing plate flange at exactly 3.5" apart in a square, doubled them up and welded them to a length of 3/16 wall steel pipe and a couple of other pieces of the steel to weld to the top of the pipe that just barely fit through the press' upper perch. I set it up and prayed my welds were strong enough to pop the bearing loose. My gosh, were those bearings tight! I used a cheater bar on the lever due to the pressure it took to release the grip on the axle. I wasn't completely confident for success. But once I heard the first pop, I new I was golden. So, if anyone's interested in my tool design, hit me up and I'll send pics. Or I'll build one for you and ship it for $100 plus shipping

    • @ninjamechanics
      @ninjamechanics Год назад

      yeah it is super expensive to get a shop to do it. most small shop won't even to axle bearing job. if you are willing, I've seen ppl just cut out the outer bearing housing with angle grinder all the way to inner race, and from there, you can do dremel to score the inner race and chisel it to crack it. and you are ready for a new bearing to be pressed. but , having the tool is the best. just easier. Indeed it's not like just popping a sealed bearing and replace with new. This bearing is actually PRESSED IN.

    You don't need to disconnect the brake line, just pull that clip then take a grinder and simply cut a notch so that the brake line can slip out of its holding bracket otherwise doing it the way ur doing it you will have to bleed the brakes and waste more time
