Vertical Jigging Fall Musky (Bondy Bait)
I started the day out casting until my fingers were too cold. Then I went and worked the edge of a drop off with a modified bondy bait to catch this awesome 44 inch musky! Thanks for watching!

Solo Musky (How Not To Net 101)
Просмотров 5522 года назад
Of all the years of musky fishing this is by far the worst net job I have ever done. The problem was that I didnt leave enough line out when attempting to net the fish. This fish inhaled the Spanky Double 10 and I could see that the hooks were not going to pop out. IG: last_cast_angling
Barely Hooked Musky Takes Giant Leap!
Просмотров 6822 года назад
In this video my grandpa and I went for a short afternoon troll that resulted in a very fat 39.5 inch musky. (I thought the bait hung up on some weeds at first. The pole wasn't doubled over and the drag wasn't releasing) IG: last_cast_angling
My Favorite Musky Rod (Chaos Tackle Shock & Awe)
Просмотров 2 тыс.2 года назад
This rod is quite impressive for being able to cast baits as small as a few ounces, up to well past a pound. It makes figure 8s extremely easy due to being 9'6". The only problem I have had with this rod is it wont collapse down. Leave a comment if you have questions, I wanted this to be a quick brief video. IG: last_cast_angling

Night Trolling Super Shad For Musky

Trolling muskies has been successful for me so far this summer. Specifically super shads from Rapala. If you have not trolled muskies and are struggling casting, I would give trolling a try! IG: last_cast_angling

Three Musky Day And Topwater Explosions!
I’ve been scrolling through RUclips all evening looking for musky how to videos to help me. I’m a big walleye guy over in St Clair but I want to try to get into musky fishing LSC; at least try it here and there. I can honestly say after watching dozens of videos, yours were the best for demonstration and explaining stuff. Point is, hope you keep making more videos this year.
I appreciate the comment! I plan to put some videos up this year and moving forward! Tight lines 🤙
You mentioned your leader snaps - Why did you recommend them? I been using the big VMC flouro leaders with the bigger clamp, but curious if there are better options.
nice fish ! cheers - looks like the lake ? ever jig on the st. clair river ?
I havnt, but I would like to. I did not get out musky fishing much at all this year
@@lastcastangling3598 i'm old , will musky fish at the drop of a hat lol. just started shore fishing the st. clair river ( 4 times ) lots of room, i love it ! been hearing great things about jigging the river with bondy baits ?
Oh heck yeah! Great job
Spot on about the holding the net. Most net handles will fit into most rod holders. I always have one located just for this purpose.
How about mono on the TDR?
Muskie took bait like perch do😂. You had bondy laying on bottom for 20-30 seconds and when you lifted. BAM 💥👊😁
I've heard that holding ice around the rod area just above the butt area for 15 mins will get it collapsed. Once it is collapsed, clean the rod and remove any dirt. A word of warning, I know of several instances of guys jamming the rod down trying to collapse it and the reel housing cracks. Many of today's reel housings are plastic to eliminate weight. Because of this, the housings break. Have a great 23 season!
I will have to retry this. I tried to ice where the 2 pieces meet. I will try lower on the rod then. Thank you!
@@lastcastangling3598it try heat to make the joint softer, you could also try some penetrating oil.
That is a great review! Thanks!! If that rod can cast a balsa Super Shad Rap and a massive rubber swimbait, that is awesome. Brilliant review.
Thanks! It's definitely a great rod
With my 2 piece fly rod I have that problem, I was able to get it undone by putting the rod behind my knees while standing then grabbing on both sides of the joint tightly, I put my hands on the outside of my knees and spread my knees apart. Maybe you could try that but with your hands between your knees and close your knees together.
I'll have to give that a try. Thanks for watching🤙🏼
nice video. how do you cast heavy lures without hurting shoulder ? please explain me your Method. thanks a lot
Heavy can be subjective, but to start, the rod really helps. If I'm casting heavy baits, more specifically husky Medusa, pounder bulldawg, monster swimmin dawg, monster Medusa or similar sized baits. I prefer to cast them on my Chaos Tackle 9'6 Shock and Awe XXH Assault Stick. This rod is forgiving and a beast for heavy baits like that. I cast straight over the top on my shoulders and lob them like a catapult basically. Definitely don't try to side arm or cast them like a bass bait or you'll trash your wrist or shoulder probably. I cast left handed since I reel on the right. Left hand goes on the reel, right hand goes on the bottom on the rod. Push with the left, pull with the right, leave like 3 feet of line out and you're golden🤙🏼
@@lastcastangling3598 thanks a lot. I Will try und Hope there is a video whitin I can learn
I can make a short video on it
@@lastcastangling3598 make It please. 🙏🙏🙏
@@lastcastangling3598 pleased dont forget It. Thanks 😊😊😊
Bravo! No easy task trying to net a Musky when your fishing solo.
Some days it goes great, other days it seems impossible🤣
sorry I didn't see you set the hook on the first musky I blinked. my fault!
Really weak hookset
Nice Muskie, down at Bluewater lake NM someone catches a 40 it’s more than likely dead unfortunately🦅
Thats unfortunate to hear
Caught a pike with a white bondi last year. Still looking for that ski to take it.
I started by getting pike on mine first as well. Keep jigging and you'll get a ski on it!
👍👍👍мужики
👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥
Nice fish I love the way you caught that messing around and Boom pretty darn cool. A tip to anyone reading this. When I'm cleaning up the boat to get ready to come in for the day I always throw a 4-inch swimbait over the side of the boat and let it drift. Not too long ago I was cleaning up getting ready to come in and I looked over my bass rod was doubled up ! looked at my graph I was in 30 feet pulled up a beautiful 44-in tiger muskie Always keep a line in the water and this is what may happen to you someday !
It's seems to be when we least expect the fish to bite. I've caught fish hanging a posiedon off the side like you do with your 4 inch swim bait. Thanks for the tip!
Vertical jigging is like watching paint dry but is very effective. Another but is the hits are awesome. Also sometimes done for eight hours of doldrums for three minutes of extasy.
Fishing alone it can be super boring. With someone else it isn't too bad, can get a good conversation going. Passes time quickly until the fish decide to eat
@@lastcastangling3598 Right on good fishing always sincerely Record 🎣
Nice job on the bondy. Don't see many guy's using them now day's p😁
More people should! Such a great bait
Awesome catch! I’ve been doing a lot of casting lately around LSC hoping to land a musky this Fall!
Dream of mine to fish that! That lake + Detroit river is why I started jigging in the first place. Best of luck this fall🤙🏼
@@lastcastangling3598 good luck to you as well I’ll be watching brother!
Epic Hot Tip" Pays Off! SWEET!
It's such a great strategy! Thanks for watching!
Nice vid man with a nice fish by vertical jigging! I will try that mod one day!
Works from day 1 of season to the last day of season
@@lastcastangling3598 good!!
Well done men !
Thanks!
Ridiculous monstrosities. Way too big stuff for me. I use small bulletproof reels like accurate boss valiant 300c and 50 lb braid on a St. Croix legend glass rod.. Entire combo weighs zero. It's insane and can handle monster musky and river stripers.
Great Fish dude!
Despite that, you got a nice fish man!
What do you think caused the red injury on the fish?
@@lastcastangling3598 looks like lamprey scar
That seems to be the answer from everyone I've asked. Never seen one in this lake, but there must be some here.
Hi, I'm interest at one of this Rod for adapted to Sea shore jigging with a casting reel. What model you think that can I use for 3 oz jig, for long distance?
Depending on what you're catching, if you're jigging 3oz, look at the rod models and see what covers that range the best. This rod would be good for jigging. Rated 4oz-24oz
I have the same rod, I don’t have the collapsing issue with my shock &awe, but I do have this issue with my st croix mojos. I usually have to give it a strong tap on the butt end while twisting the shaft to get it to collapse
I've been more than strong with trying to get it to collapse, tried ice on it as well. Gave up at this point
@@lastcastangling3598 That's too bad, sounds like you need to buy a nice big boat to haul your rods around now haha
@@kylevanderkooi7947 I think you're right! I'd love a ranger 618T
nice! what state are you guys in?
Wisconsin 🤙🏼
@@lastcastangling3598 thats what i thought.. def need to move north..:)
Definitely a lot of lakes to choose from here for musky fishing
Good net man!
He's got a perfect record netting muskies!
You chubby chaser you! :) Nice fish!
Gotta love a fat healthy musky in the boat!
That is a thicc musky! Nice vid man!
It definitely had some girth to it. I thought it was for sure low 40s at first just due to how fat it was.
Thanks for shopping with us. Good luck fishing this fall.
Good video, thanks! New subscriber.
Thanks for watching🤙🏼
So if you take a bag of ice and put it right on the spot where the rod goes in it will go back to telescopic! I messaged them and that was the tip they sent me and it worked. Great video with a lot of good options!
I will give it a try! Appreciate the info🤙🏼
You’re right about the moderate actions keeping fish pinned better. That slower action also gives the rod more “range” meaning a wider variety of lure weights. I throw mostly moderate tips except for bucktails where the faster tip powers the bait through the figure 8 better. Chaos, Elk River, musky Innovations Bull Dawg rods and Thorne Brothers custom rods all have that moderate action (even though some of them say fast action).
I would agree that the fast works better for bucktails in the 8. Before I bought the rod I was skeptical of the moderate action, but after using it for 2 years, I really do like it for casting a range of rubber baits and keeping hooks pinned is a noticeable difference.
Thank you for the info man!!
Congratulations Collin on that nice first musky!
Good job Collin!!
Twist to collapse that rod.
Good lord that thing is massive !!
I'm thinking a mid 30s fish would hit that in the fall
@@lastcastangling3598 no doubt
Thank you for the info, nice vid!!
I didn't expect these rods to hold up so well. Definitely would reccomend them if you're new to musky trolling
@@lastcastangling3598 for that price is nice!! I normally cast for musky due to not having a boat but I will get them to give a try when i have the opportunity!
I also use them for dragging suckers on quick strike or using bluegills as bait. They work great for that as well!
@@lastcastangling3598 nicee
congrats on your new PB ! 😎
Make sure everyone has a good headlamp for your protection and the fish’s protection when removing hooks. You don’t want to be hooked to a fish in the dark. Tape a flashlight to net handle so you can see what you are netting. Just some things to avoid injury and keep fish alive.
Lesson learned after that night! Brought more light along for the last time out👍
Super nice catch! I love it when the big ones dive down once they get close and you end up in a tug of war! It’s like they start off fighting like a tarpon then turn into a grouper when they get close! My first Musky was 52inch so I’m basically never going to get another PB
Nice fish dude! Hey dude I'm the future put your thumb in the notch under it's mouth there's a perfect slot for your thumb. When you put your thumb right next to its mouth like that unfortunately that's exactly how you end up hooked to the fish or with a giant cut from its teeth..... And I only say this because the first muskie I ever saw put a 5 inch slice into my uncle's thumb because he was doing exactly that
Nice vid!!
Thanks!
Nice vid dude!
