Understanding the Waste Management Sector in India I WILDPLASTIC®
India. 1.4 billion people. 28 states. 22 official languages.
In October 2023 two of our colleagues traveled to India to learn about the waste management sector and meet all the people without whom our work as WILDPLASTIC® would not be possible.
This film documents their trip to Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Momasar and Kerala and highlights various perspectives on waste management in India, always tackling the global discourse.
Primary plastic is still way too cheap while there are tons of plastic already produced waiting to be recycled. This needs to change globally!

You are absolutely right. It is really hard to see through the structures of waste management worldwide and it was my goal to make it more graspable and transparent and show perspectives that usually don't get enough attention.

Eine Frage: beispielsweise in Haiti wird der Plastikmüll ja vorsortiert. Da fällt dann wahrscheinlich auch viel Plastikmüll an der nicht verwertet/verschifft werden kann oder? Finde euren Ansatz super, vor allem da faktenbasierter als andere Unternehmungen. @wildplastic
It's easy to forget how labor-intensive and difficult these recycling and clean-up projects can be when you take away the serious money, equipment and automation. You're not alone. I'm following several small projects that are driven by enthusiasm. I wish one of the bigger youtube channels would showcase the projects and do a fundraiser, then support improvements in a meaningful and lasting way, like collecting money for tents or buildings to make progress here.

Hallo, ich finde euer Projekt unterstützendswert.... was mich nur stört an den neuen Plastiktüten ist, das sie nach der Benutzung im Restmüll landen und dort in der Regel verbrannt werden.
