It's crazy that you mention this but I know it's also God working again! He wants you to hear this, know, and internalize this verse like no other. And he wants you to know that i (amongst so many others) am watching you tell us this while looking absolutely beautiful--eyes aglow, skin oozing radiance--and see that God-gifted beauty more than anything!

어릴때부터 지겹도록 들어온 뚱뚱하다는 소리 정말 이겨내기 쉽지 않죠. 저도 서른이된 지금까지도 매일 거울 보며 사람들이 말한 그정도로 난 못나지 않아 다짐하고 억지로 힘을 얻곤 하지만 그만큼 매일 무너집니다. 저는 특히나 저를 예쁘다고 말해줘야할 가장 가까운 가족들에게 그런 소리를 너무나도 많이 듣고 자라왔어요. 그런 말들은 어찌나 영향력이 큰지 그렇게 내 자신을 채찍질해가며 운동 다니고 먹고 싶은 것들 참으며 대학시절을 보냈습니다. 그게 어느 순간 너무 지겹더군요. 지치는게 아니라 그냥 징그럽도록 짜증이 났어요. 왜 이 남자애한테 잘 보여야하지? 살 많이 빠졌다 인정받고 싶어서 오늘도 굶어야하지? 정말 지영님처럼 밖에 못나가는 순간도 있었고 서른이 될 때까지 나를 있는 그대로 사랑하는 사람을 못만난다면 살 가치가 없겠다까지 그런 못된 생각까지 했습니다. 그래서 그때부터 그냥 나를 아무도 모르는 곳, 아무 편견없이 나를 바라봐주는 환경이 너무 간절했습니다. 그렇게 다시 나를 처음 리셋시키듯 그렇게 남은 이십대 모두를 무작정 여러 도시 떠다니며 있는 그대로의 나를 예뻐해주고 사랑해주는 소중한 사람들을 많이 곁에 두게 되었습니다. 정말 거짓말처럼 현재 남편도 그와중에 만났지요. 물론 예쁜말만 하는 사람들만 만난건 아니었고 가족들도 여전히 (지금까지도) 똑같은 말을 하지만 이 몇년간의 깊은 성찰과 인정욕에서 벗어나고자 했던 하루하루들이 쌓여 지금의 저를 만든 것 같아요. 저는 크리스쳔은 아니지만 말씀 중 하셨던 성경구절에 많은 생각이 듭니다. 몇달 전 다시 한국에 돌아와 똑같은 시선과 말들에 좌절해온 저에게 이 구절이 한동안 큰 힘이 될 것 같아요. 우리에게 심어진 이런 통념에서 벗어날 수 있게 우리 더더욱 좋은 사람들과 긍정적인 일들 많이 바라며 살아요! 영상 속 친구분도 너무 좋으신 분 같아요. 기회가 된다면 같이 커피한잔 하며 이야기 나눠보고 싶다는 마음까지 드는 따뜻하고 진솔한 영상이었습니다. 너무 감사합니다. 지영님의 존재에 누군가는 힘을 얻는다는 사실 알아주셨으면 하는 마음에 긴 답글을 남깁니다.

Thank you for sharing. I relate completely. I'm uncomfortable being around people because I'm worried about the way I'd be perceived. I don't even really have any photos of myself because I'm so uncomfortable with the way I look. I'm now forcing myself to take one photo/ video of myself a day until I grow to like the person I see. But more important than that is the inner work. A lot of dismantling negative self-talk and comments from others. Also developing myself in ways outside of my looks, like learning new skills and welcoming new experiences. And hopefully, I'll grow to like the person I AM, and I wish the same for you 💜

I understand the struggle and of course it is saddening when important people in our lives decide to hyper-fixate on the way our bodies naturally look. You’re right when you said that these things are a reflection of themselves. Imagine you thinking of someone that you love in a different light because of their body… the thing is that you wouldn’t. Time to release and detach those ideas from yourself, as they don’t serve you. YOU on the other hand, are positively impacting so many lives and for that alone, you and your body are truly beautiful 💗

If it's not a relative and someone you like, just look at is as they're not for you. Someone who loves you will love everything about you. You looks great. It saddens me a little to hear that this has been your experience with the world. But, I’m here to tell you that you caught my attention, your face, your style, your curvy body, your confidence, the boldness, you’re art, I see it and the right people will see it as well. Your weight and size doesn’t matter when you have the ability to capture positive, genuine, and authentic attention. You literally just have that it factor with you… very intriguing. ITS SO hard especially in the fashion industry (and being a curve model) to not compare and put so much worth and weight on our self image. I’m proud of you for holding onto Gods words. Just finished the intro and let me tell you, you put perfectly into words what I’ve also been going through this year- that ongoing cycle of depression and anxiety! I feel God has been calling me continuously to give it all to Him, to stop carrying the weight of the world and all my sorrow on my shoulders.
