I haven't discovered yet all the fruits. Everyday I find more. I have never had a garden so this is really a bliss. My favorite fruit is the blackcurrant. Delicious sour and sweet. Wat een werk KeesJan! Je krijgt er wel spieren van. Ik dacht ook je kunt er iets tussen zetten en dan splijten, wat je aan het eind deed. Kun je nog een grotere kettingzaag lenen, misschien helpt dat ook. Je hebt nog een heel eind stam te gaan 😊. Wel gezond zo buiten en fantastisch goede beschermende kleding. Top hoor. Als je toch een nieuwe kachel gaat plaatsen& ws nieuwe pijp omhoog ,enz,enz, probeer een warmte wisselaar tussen de kachel en. Pijp te plaatsen dan kan je daar later water doorheen laten lopen , dus als je kachel stookt dan kan je meteen warm water maken voor je boiler(s) en daar weer warm water van hebben om te douchen of wat je maar wilt voor je huis . Hornets can sting! A friend got an anaphylactic shock because of a sting! She is now in a coma and will sadly die soon. She did not know she was allergic and had no Apie pen. So do be careful! Get someone to remove them! I had a huge nest last year in my attic removed by a professional. More then a meter in size! Make sure to get plenty of wood in, it might be very cold soon. Maybe some special arctic underwear. To stay warm. Wood needs to dry at least a year, before burning. For your drinking water. Get a Berkey filter, works great! The filter last at least 10 years. For a shower ask if you can shower where you paddel, or one of your new friends.

@@kjschuil you are most welcome, when I moved to Hungary I had no running water, no working toilet, no heating, there are also woodburners that can heat water for warm water in the house or for central heating. I learned that too late. I used bubble wrap on my windows, to keep the warmth in. Front door and my windows were not closing wel. So check where there is a draft going. For now I should focus on getting in enough wood in before the winter truly sets in.
If the hornets haven't caused any problems I'm glad that you left them. If for any reason that changes you can always do something about it, but I don't think that will be the case. Loved seeing you getting past them into the house, 😉 it was funny.

We hebben ze hier ook (midden Zweden), ze zitten in een vogelhuisje van de buren en ze zijn echt enorm! We hebben alle buitenverlichting uitgezet maar ze bombarderen de ramen op zoek naar het licht dat van binnen komt. (Ik ga er niet vanuit dat ze ongevaarlijk zijn hoor...) Blij dat we gaan verhuizen 🙂

Ha KeesJan, hier kan ik iets schrijven. Nou dat zag ik eerst niet hoor😂. Ko had een mega nest van de aziatische hoornaar in zijn tuin. Je maakt nog eens wat mee zo! 😊😘
Hoe heeft hij die weggekregen?
Hij heeft mensen laten komen die hierin gespecialiseerd zijn. Vooral niet zelf aan rommelen. Maar dat was een heel groot nest.
I haven’t seen hornets in my area but lots of bees and all kinds of wasps, and they often come inside the house. They even try to build nests inside the sofa or in the cupboards (sometimes successfully!). But I’ve never had problems with them and regard them as neighbours of sorts. And now, as it’s getting colder slowly they are looking to find a safe place to settle for winter, I think.
The do this at autumn and the are drawn to the light. They won’t harm you nor any interest in you. You can find some at your doorstep in the morning, as if they sleep there.
I learn so much about nature here, love it! 😊

Hi Kees-Jan, door je reactie op onze foto op Facebook kwam ik op jouw kanaal terecht. Ik heb je filmpje bekeken, wat leuk dat je vlogt! Heerlijk om via jou even de verbinding met Zweden te voelen. Mijn ouders hebben sinds 20 jaar een huisje in Värmland en Zweden voelt daardoor als mijn tweede thuis. Dit jaar ben ik er nog niet geweest en ik mis het tot in mijn kleinste cellen inmiddels. Wat een charmant plekje heb je daar, met zo'n authentiek Zweeds huisje <3. Enjoy!

Socializen gaat al heel goed zie ik, wij houden van de Zweden. Ze zijn zo hartelijk en behulpzaam maar ….wen maar aan de Zweedse burocratie…het is niet anders. Wij hadden Personnumber en bankrekening snel voor elkaar maar hebben nu een jaar later een huis gekocht en zo’n proces is ook weer een openbaring. We gaan vanaf morgen alles weer inpakken en 1 Oktober verhuizen (omgeving Svenlunga). Kunnen we daar weer opnieuw beginnen met onze socializing😅 Leuke vlogs, keep them coming !

@@kjschuil we zijn eerst naar een huurhuis verhuisd in Zweden en na een jaar alles geregeld te hebben (id, bank, persoonsnummer etc) weten we dat we willen blijven en waar en dus hebben we nu een huis gekocht waar we 1 Oktober heen gaan😊
Outside of The Nordic countries I think people from the Netherlands are the ones that looks the most like Swedes. Very similar in many ways. Although Dutch is not as close to Swedish as German, you will learn it quickly and probably with less heavy accent than Germans sometimes have.

The Badger/grävlig we have in Sweden is not aggresive or dangerous. But they can bite if you supprise them or try to corner them. They prefer to run away. Also when they have small kids they are protective of their youngs. If you hit them with your car dont go up to them call 112 and let a hunter come out and do there job. If you do not want Badgers around your house you can put out pices of cloth soaked in perfume, they do not like strong smells.

I have lived here for 10 years and I have tried to learn Swedish and speak it but English rules for most of foreigners here in Stockholm, if you are fluent in English then you are good, most of the time. That is great that you won the tournament! Just remember Winter is Coming....
You are so true about using English, but I really wanna learn Swedish. BUT as winter is coming I spend a lot of time with preparing for the cold, like the fireplace and wood. Right now I am gonna drive to Skövde for BankID AND to buy a protection pant and boots for my chainsaw that is delivered on Wednesday 🥳

I did! But hard to open the door back in Sweden and nowing that they are far away then......What helps for me then is reight away reach out to people here, Dutch or Swedes. But it takes so much time to build up the level of friendship....

@@kjschuil Still implies the smoke channel moght need cleaning, and/or you may need to add pipe to the top part of the smoke channel in order to improve draft to sufficient level.

Hey! Kleine tip vanuit Noorwegen; haal een elektrisch dekentje en/of een kruik voor 's avonds. Wij hebben in een huis gewoond waar het binnen net zo hard waaide als buiten met vorst op de dekens (het was een oud huis), en het was een blessing. :)

I paid 1,5% of the total property purchase price. I think this is annually. And insurance for the house is around €25 per month
