    You're killing me! 'Machine Head' is top 10 album of all-time for me. Those are my 2 fav J. Geils studio albums. Gamma - it's Ronnie Montrose on guitar, which makes it worth a listen. And then you drag Petty into the mix.....But, I get it. Can't expect you to have the same taste as me, we are all into what connects with us. Good luck with your purge, cheers!

      I like Machinehead. Gamma was pretty good, but I'm in a different place with music right now. And Petty like I said I do like the hits. It's not like I absolutely hate these bands, just not bands I'm wanting to listen to.

    Hi Todd!!! I didn't get a lot of new music during the 2000's, don't know why?? but i do remember how big Amy Lee & Evanescence got during that era..... that was a fine Anthrax release trying to deal with the numetal and groove sound too, i do think Bush is great singer, the songs were not as strong as their classic material. cheers and be well

    • @ToddGuyTheThrashingZombie
      @ToddGuyTheThrashingZombie 7 дней назад

      True. We've Come for You All wasn't as good as the earlier albums. Still pretty good though. The 2000's was full of numetal and groove metal. Not the greatest few years.

    It happens man, we like music for different reasons on different phases of our lives, but our tastes may change as years goes by. Sometimes we end up giving another chance to things we don't listen anymore and it clicks again. A garage/yard sale sounds a good idea, make some money and buy some new record from a fresh new band. Ps: I wouldn't mind having those DP albums, although I already have them on cd's.

    • @ToddGuyTheThrashingZombie
      @ToddGuyTheThrashingZombie 16 дней назад

      Very true. I used to love Crue. Now I just find them very cringe. I can't deny what they did for MTV and music at the time. Along with all those early bands. You live in South America don't you? I would be willing to send them to you, but I've never sent anything outside the U.S. I would have to find out how much shipping would be. Plus if I had to do anything with customs and whatnot.

      @GustavoScafuro I'm still gonna have a yard sale, but if somebody from the VC wants some of my records I'd be willing to do that. At least that way I know they will be listened to and not flipped. I would be willing to sell them $25 for all except the beat up Machinehead which I was planning on keeping. Feel free to send me an email at thethrashingzombie@gmail.com if you're interested. Most of them aren't in the greatest condition. They are listenable (no skips), but they have surface noise.

    Hi Todd!!! I can understand when you tried some albums/bands but they're not for you...... for me it was a big shock discovering J Geils Band had a big discography in the 70's!!!! because i also listen to them for the first time with "Freeze Frame", Autograph you can make a case of a one hit (hardrock) wonder. I know Gamma was the band Ronnie Montrose had after splitting that band, but never listen to them thou..... I like Deep Purple a lot, it took awhile, but know i really appreciate their influence in rock. Good luck with the purge, maybe you can trade some at a record store?? cheers and be well

    • @ToddGuyTheThrashingZombie
      @ToddGuyTheThrashingZombie 16 дней назад

      So true. I've done the record store selling. It's not worth it. They pay shit. It's like 50¢ on the dollar or something. I had a Beach Boys "Pet Sounds" I bought at a store for $25.99. I don't like it and brought it back with some other albums to sell. They gave me $5 for the Beach Boys. Went in the next week and they had it priced again at $25.99. So not worth it for me if I wanted to make as much as I can from them.

    Well, I'm a huge and lifelong fan of Deep Purple (first heard some of their classic albums before I was even ten years old - one of my cousins had both their albums and several by Led Zeppelin, a band I didn't really discover until several years later, but Purple was an instant hit with me. :) Fabulous musicianship, great songwriting and an astonishing live band...I know I'm not alone in dubbing "Made in Japan" (1972) one of the greatest live albums of all time, and "In Concert 1970/72" (two shows recorded for the BBC in London and released nearly a decade later) is almost on a par. But yeah, I already have the Purple albums I want... :) As an aside, this story relates to a solo album by Paul Stanley, and it's from the Swedish jazz/rock drummer Måns Block answering a similar question: "Tell us about an album you regret buying" - he was probably really young when it happened: "My aunt gifted me the money to buy an LP album for my birthday. What an extreme luxury, I thought, I can have any album I WANT! I set off for the record shop where they had "The Elder" by Paul Stanley with a cool iron door on the front cover. A must-have. - It turned out to be a soundtrack, and I still can't grasp that Paul is such a wimpy singer. My heart was broken." 😍😄

    • @ToddGuyTheThrashingZombie
      @ToddGuyTheThrashingZombie 21 день назад

      Nice. I'm not saying Deep Purple is a bad band, but just not where my taste lies at the moment. In the last ten years I've gravitated toward more extreme metal. I don't change the station if a Deep Purple song comes on, I also don't think I want to listen to Deep Purple today. If I can sell them to somebody else who will enjoy them more than me that makes me happy. Kiss is another band I've lost interest in. I used to love them as a kid.

      I just wish I was able to find a nice cheap original copy of The New Order. Was probably never gonna happen though. I'm not sure I've heard anything by Witch Vomit. I may have checked them out on Bandcamp, but can't remember. Looks cool but the cover.

      @ToddGuyTheThrashingZombie Ahh yeah I get that, nothing like the original. But the remaster is still cool. That's fair enough, I hadn't listened to them either. But everyone was talking about the new Witch Vomit I really wanna check it out. Yeah, the artwork is awesome, looks like something from Lord of the rings! 😁🤘🏻

      At this time I was getting more into the heavier stuff, but still liking some of the sleaze metal.
