The Caravelle and the Comet are my favorite 1st gen jet airliners.

Excellent narration and very impressed with your English skills. Always my favorite jetliner and have fond memories of family trips on TWA and Pam Am in the 60's to/from Europe. Quite a project and admire your dedication to authenticity--where there's a will, there's a way! Look forward to seeing it completed.

My very first flight was 06.06.1966 by Finnair flight from Helsinki to Constanta, Romania, for 14 days holidays. By Super Caravelle, of course! Those were times!!😀😀😀

Why the se 210 caravelle got scrapped?

Just asking for a friend... what if the crew decided to do a stunt, don't care about the consequences for them and ignoring furious ATC and objecting fellow volunteers and try to take off, would the aircraft be able to make a short flight?

During the start up, I see an electrical ground power unit, but no air start. Wasn't an air start used? Otherwise, what got the engines spooling up? I presume the Caravelle III had no APU. Bottle? Electric starter?

My first flight ever was with Sterling Caravelle in 1967 Stockholm-Palma for a 14 days chartertrip

the DC-9 that came a little later was much more efficient and advanced. Turbofan engines, figure 8 fuselage instead of circular, giving very much more luggage and cargo space, less noisy.

I was expecting them to take off in it, not too operational after all.

what a beautiful aircraft. We flew on Lufthansa 707's in the 60's and into the 70's on a regular basis via the polar route, Tokyo, Anchorage, Frankfurt and back. I have many wonderful memories on the 707 with Lufthansa. Maybe we even flew on D-ABOD. We lived in Japan from 1960 until 1974.

I had flown so many times on this aircraft as a child when I was around 9 to 14. Those triangular shaped windows and boarding the aircraft from the rear end.
