I have dresser draws with metal slides that slide on wooden rails. The rails are falling apart. I would like to have draws without these rails. Any suggestions? BTW excellent video!

Just what I needed to know.

I have MDF wood that is raw with maybe a few grease spots that has soaked in, but most of it is all clean. I took off the vinyl coating from the MDF wood, and I easily just peeled it all off. Do I prime the MDF wood cabinet first and then apply the paint? I am using the Snow Owl color. Thank you.😊

Great video! I have a few questions. I painted my cabinets (I suppose they are laminate faux wood) years ago with Dixie Belle mineral paint, I loved the way they turned out, and they held up very well for the last five years as far as durability…however using their Gator Hide NON-yellowing top coat it actually has recently yellowed. So I’m looking for a way to repaint them, but I’m so worried about them turning yellow. It looks like with this wise owl one hour enamel it’s not necessary to use a topcoat. I just wanna make sure I’m clear on that? My next question is, how would you suggest painting over these preprinted cabinets? would I need to lightly sand them first or just a primer? The cabinets are a color called dropcloth which is off-white. I will probably be doing a similar color for the repaint. Ty!

Did you use a pre stain conditioner?

Can you distress this with sandpaper? When? After the coats of paint have completely dried? Do you do it right before the sealer?

What is the thickness of the wood, I went to Lowe’s & they sold me the 1/4” which is to thick.

Newbie here...What do you do about the darker areas where you wiped off then overlapped in your next application area? I recently had the same problem using a glaze over a painted piece. How can you do the top of a piece such as this and get an even color without having darker overlap marks?

Hey Kate! I’m in AZ as well and have a hutch to stain. I started by using a sandpaper to take off the existing finish but when I go to wipe, it literally wipes almost everything off. What roughness of sandpaper is ideal? Are you by chance for hire? I’d prefer to have someone who knows what they’re doing 😊

It says do not wax but I’ve seen people wax over it, is it fine to be waxed After a seal coat?

What is the difference between a mallet and a hammer (besides you can use one end to remove nails on a hammer)? I think I have an orange mallet instead of a hammer. I purchased it over a hammer because I liked the color and it is soft and wrapped inside of like silicone material. I definitely thought it looked better than a wood hammer.

Great video! I’m trying to learn how to spray the Wise Owl primer. Do you use a 1.8mm or a 2.0mm nozzle when you use a sprayer? Do you thin it?

I am about to do a hexagon end table in Java Gel stain. It's the old orangey oak colour with storage inside the doors. And the only top coat from GF that my store had was Gel Topcoat Satin (I live in BC Canada and in my whole area, there was only 1 store that carried only a small amount of products of the GF brand). So the It was this topcoat or I went with another brand. My question to you is... can you use a foam brush or would I need to buy a stain applicator? Or would shop cloth work? And you only did the 1 coat of the Java gel stain, correct? I am thinking I prefer the staining method (wipe off) rather than using it as a paint. TY!
