The reactions of this young lady are similar to the reactions of we "Oldies" when we heard and saw these two consummate artists of comedy way back in the 1950s. Genuine amusement coming from just a play on words. I am so ,pleased that maybe now more of the younger generation will get to see and enjoy what we laughed at when we were young.

I remember that day clearly... I was feeling crappy and called in to work saying I'd be maybe an hour late... Was just about finished getting dressed (after coffee & a late shower) with the news when they broke in with the first plane hitting, I watched a few more minutes and was just about to leave when the 2nd hit, immediately called my coworker and told her to turn on the TV in the break room. (She almost didn't believe me). By the time I got I to the office literally everyone was in our break room or in the cafeteria watching the big TV there. You're talking a building with 800+ employees, and I'd say little got done for a few hours.

what it didn't show, was the videos of people jumping to avoid burning to death. There were videos of firefighters crying in the lobby as they heard bodies hit the ground and awnings. Absolutely horrific day.

I remember that day. I was only 11 but they turned the news on in my advisory class and learned about what happened. I was in 6th grade. What a devastating day.... 9-11 never forget. To the thousands of people who lost loved ones, im so sorry for any people affected by that horrible terrible day

I was in Midtown Manhattan at work that day. I have tears streaming down my face even though I've seen these clips many times over the years. It's just as heartbreaking as if it happened today.

We watched for 3 hours and I was shaking for the rest of the day❗️

My dad called me after the 1st tower was struck. He told me to turn on a TV. I started watching, then the 2nd plane flew into the 2nd tower. I could not pull myself away from watching all day long. My husband was working out of town & he didn't know that these attacks had taken place until he got home. We still know where we were and what we were doing when that evil event happened on our shores. We are still reminded to pray for those families affected by this day's events. I still say and pray "GOD Bless The USA" and "USA, Bless GOD".

To think our government could of played a part of this sickens me to my soul and I pray it not be true but the depth of evil in this world never ceases to shock my to my being. Forgive us Jesus.

I will never forget the woman who jumped to her death holding down her skirt for modesty. All those people, I can cry now. It's like God removed his protection from the United States and it hasn't been the same since. We need to turn back to God before worse comes to this country.

My oldest son was just over 2 years old, a week later when the airports opened up and resumed flights, I was driving him to a doctors appointment when we saw a jet flying over. He said very quietly to me...."is it going to crash into a building, daddy?"....I still want to cry when I think about it.

I was 10 when this happened. I have a daughter that age now and I hope she doesn't have to witness anything this horrific. They let us watch in class before we were sent home and I can still hear the screams of people running and jumping from the building. This attack stole the innocence of so many millenial children and older. Seeing the footage reopened a wound i thought had healed. September 12 2001 we were united and America was angry.

As an American,it still breaks my heart to watch this.I was at home that day and the stunned horror I felt has never left.It lies buried within me but will remain with me for my lifetime.It's still so vivid.

I always will remember the story I heard about the workers on some floor that said "lets go to the roof" and of course a lot of debate and fear -- but it turned out they had no option, so they went up to the roof - out of options --- and these co-workers or whover was up there, they stood around and held hands in a circle, maybe thinking they'd be saved in a miracle, but kind of knowing they were doomed. They held hands and got swallowed up in the conflagration. We nly know this because of someone on that roof who told us the story. I don't know why. Maybe they had the latest technology and could say to their family "I'm up on the roof holding hands" who knows.

My dad worked in this building and survived only because as a man of over 50 decided to go to Uni to get a degree and had to go to class that day. I myself was in Uni and had so many calls from friends asking is your dad okay but did not understand why. He lost a lost of friends that dad, was mentally affected by it and so sorry to all who lost family and friends. My dad who is not my biological father but still calls me his first child today is over 70 and had his first grandchild my nephew born on 14th September 2001 that is 3 days later and he is the most loveliest person ever and turned 23 this year. We are most grateful to all the fire fighters, first responders, and everyone who worked hard to get people out and continue till today to work with victims and families of this act. Only God knows why they did it and will be their judge regardless of who they think it was.

It's always so hard to watch this... I was 11 at that time, it was afternoon in Germany, we were all sitting in front of the TV the whole afternoon and evening. I think it was the second day of the school year. The next day at school we held a minute of silence. It was though very irresponsible of teachers to talk about it with the kids from primary school. My sister just entered first grade and said she and the kids were scared and crying. My family only returned about a week before from vacations, with a stop in Miami. I'm glad we didn't get caught in that but I feel so sad for all those lives lost, the many injured people and those who lost their loved ones. So tragic. 😢💔 I remember going to the movies in 2006 with my class watching the WTC movie... I was sobbing during the whole time watching the movie.

Also, the second question was very insightful, but I think that I understand the reason for the blank stares from these 2 lovely young ladies is because they don’t really have a point of reference. For those of us who were already adults, we did not grow up with social media & 24 hours news coverage. From that point on we became a global community obsessively devouring 9/11 content and then came the advent of social media. I try to imagine the perspective of young people who have never known a different way of life and it strikes me that the rise in mental health crises and the rise of social media/24 hour news channels are inherently linked. I remember turning off the television after about 2 weeks of non stop coverage & thinking WOW! I really need to give my brain a break for a bit. I don’t quite know how to drive this point home for young people today… but constant consumption is destructive and not good for mental health. Chasing “likes & subscribes” are not worth your own beautiful minds. ❤

To this day… it was the horror of the second plane that still raises goosebumps & invokes tears. I was 27 yrs old watching it unfold on the news and had just dropped my son off at daycare. The first plane was just pure confusion … the second plane drove home the thought “Omg we are under attack”. The fallout of the next few days was absolutely soul crushing. I’m 51 yrs now and this footage brings me right back to the horror & confusion of that terrible day. We survived that and united as a country. We should be able to survive anything … as long as we are united. Division will destroy us all 😢

This isn’t a racist comedy. It is a comedy that pokes fun at racism. It’s shows racism for what it is, just plain stupid. I would recommend another TV show called Love Thy Neighbour. It is another TV series that poke fun at the absurdity of racism. Yet today would be considered by some to be a racist show.

The way it looks now is not the magic behind it. When you watch them, the first thing that hits you is how the "white" normally men were with their words. If you stick with it, what normally happens is the man comes off as bad, and those jokes you laughed at make you then start doing the "Do I sound like that?" It's hard to explain, but for people who grew up with these shows (there were a lot), the idea was to make you laugh and make you see that you do not want to be like that person. Clever stuff.
