    Most front doors now are UPVC doors but if I could put a 5 lever lock on one I would because a UPVC are easy to pick where a 5 lever lock is so much harder to pick or drill out the lock. PS IT'S TERIBLE NOW HOW EASY THESE NEW DOORS ARE EASY TO OPEN, UNDER 1 MINUTE

      Yep, pin tumbler locks wont apply here but can be picked. Just make sure to get a good high security lock, anti snap, anti drill, might say anti pick but all can be although pin tumblers full of security pins or pin in pin (dimple locks) would likely put anyone off (a good lock woukd take a locksmith a good whioe to pick) let alone your average thief 👍

    What size pipe do you use for this to happen? As a family member tends to leave the key in the door and the carers can not enter to give care. I have had to get locks smiths out to do it. The family member often falls, the last time the person fell we had to get emergency services. They was going to break the door down but luckily the back window was open.

      You can buy ready made tools- or make your own. The one in this video is almost definitely home made- you can use several types of thick stiff wire, they tend to be made(and I _think_ this one is made) from piano wire and wire from other musical instruments.(some thick guitar strings etc) Get creative and always share your results! ☺

    Most oppertunists don't have these, arguably the locks could be picked as well. Homeowners often have extra locks such as nightlatches and bolts to accomplain the mortise.

      People are creatures of habit,if an opportunist noticed a key in a lock but didn't have means to exploit it, you can bet your arse that next week or next month the key will still be in the lock.

    • @RobbieHatley
      @RobbieHatley 6 лет назад

      Sheet of paper, thread, scotch tape, and a nail should work, no? Tape thread to paper, slide paper under door, push key through with nail, and when you hear the key go "clank" on the ground, pull thread. (Must have a gap under door at least as tall as key is thick for this to work.)

    Thank you for the informative video. The lock does look very similar to the MT5. And I am in the market for a high security deadbolt. I wonder, your bump key has the exact pathway of your original key. So it basically took those 7pins out of the equation. Is there anyway to bump the pathway (given that "if" they are unique for each key)?
