I am trying to show the connection between movement of knees and elbows.
Просмотров 188Год назад
I made this a long time ago. I was trying to illustrate how the movement of the knees and the elbows connected to each other. The movement doesn't start with the elbows and knees, but when done properly there is definitely a connection.

I can't remember how long ago I made this... 10 or 11 years.

Magui Bagua Practice: November 2011 - Beijing China
Thanks for sharing, Shane.
You need to try low step position to understand the step in bagua
Appreciate you posting this.
Hello
Hi this is Abhijot from sjr you were our sub today

That's a great video! Did you manually edit in the lines or use some computer vision program?
I used an app about 10 years ago It was a lightsaber app that required you to add the lines every frame. I am sure there are better ways to do it now.
@@swatsoninchina What a labor of love!
Thank you. Hope you are still training. Practice kung-fu for life. All the best. Laoshr #60 Ching Yi Kung Fu Association
How to train Neigong?
Inner martial arts must cultivate Qi… or else it’s just… movements…
How to define qi? 气 is the simplified character for qi but it is not complete. It only represents part of the story. This character is typically used for a word pertaining to a "gas" The traditional character for qi 気 (I think this is still somewhat simplified) tells a more complete story. That qi can be defined as something that exists between two polar opposites: for example something as light and ethereal as gas and something as hard and dense as a solid (like rice). Everything we do either consumes qi or produces it. All movement does this. Some movements will do this more efficiently: Traditional martial arts and qigong to be more specific. What are your thoughts?
@@swatsoninchina ok 👌. I don’t know how to answer u.
Did you read that in a book somewhere?
@@BeachBoi1000 Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open ones mouth and remove all doubt.
@@stefanschleps8758 I practice Traditional Chinese Medicine so yes a book somewhere ;-)
Could you, please continue The exercise?
Nice 👍🏾
Excellent training module I like the unique footwork and the triangular spinning techniques with various piercing palms Uussshhh 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you.,
nice
Nice one. How do you train, now?
I train a little differently. I'll post something soon!
I train similarly.
Nice one!
바닥에 백묵으로 그린것은 나중에 잘지우거라..쯧.
Did you study with Li Baohua?
yes.
@@swatsoninchina Awesome. We are brothers in the same system. I hope your practice is going well.
Those hand and arm movements are kind of like Tan Sau in Wing Chun. It has something to do with the joint structure of your arm. Tan Sau is the best for blocking or diverting your opponent's straight punches if you know how to do it, that is. LOL But real kung fu masters had figured that out hundreds and thousands of years ago. LOL
Nice Shane.
Sounds like Eric Johnson's
Thank you Master for sharing your Bagua Skills 👍 🍵 🍵

I like the end how you adding all the books together? Are these all the books you have read?
Your Magui is very well done. Very clear and solid foundations and solid. Whish I could see more the footwork examples are almost identical to my teacher 'Andrea Falk. I only get two 4 hour lessons every 6 months. It's hard to do properly. I'm dyslexic so most people remember what is verbally in the classes but Im lost 90 percent of the time but I eventually get close. Your drawing circles on the paving stone's is brilliant. Thank you for posting. Andrea published a book on the 38 and 48 tradiotional songs. you can check it out on tgi books. I hope you still do magui baguazaung.
Thanks for your kind words. I studied with Andrea! Any time practicing with her is time well spent!
bueno. I practice cheng style of Liu bin lineage, very very similar. well shot as well.
Cool science experiments 😁👍
Love your work Shane. Your commitment to inquiry learning and student agency are really helpful as we raise a generation of creative thinkers and problem solvers.
Awesome. Love it.
thanks! a great demo of a the basic technique! standing meditation walking with awareness!
I have seen this whole set. it looks very similar to Cheng bagua earth palms.
Really well done. I agree with Justin that it looks well connected. I like the single palm change.
Three step walking? A lot going on here.
Nice. Interesting.
Not bad. Thanks for posting.
The first couple minutes is circle walking (or an attempt at circle walking). Some palm changes included as well.
he cut a section of the video out. otherwise you would have seen the guy on the bike in the background in the red shirt (at 0:14) come from the far left side of the screen (to the left of the tree behind the white pole) instead of appearing only on one side. unless he was chilling behind that tree the whole time :)
Thank you for sharing this. I just finished a weekend seminar with Li Laoshi and your focus on single palm change is just what I needed to consolidate my understanding.
