I remember my great grandma had this on vhs I loved watching it with her ❤❤❤❤ when she passed away in 2014 I kept the vhs

Maybe if I hadn't seen the original Riverdance i would have a different opinion, but with the Michael Flatley version as a benchmark, this version falls far short for me. The original had such a more light / joyful feel to it and Michael Flatley was always smiling. This version i feel like all of the dancers always look so serious (almost angry at times!) or concentrating so hard without that same effortless and joyful feeling the original had. And sorry but i had to skip past that death metal blue fiddle part... that's a solid no for me.

I remember seeing this in school back in late 2009-early 2010 but forgot about this for many years. I asked on Reddit if anyone knew what the story was called, based on my hazy memories and this one pretty matched it (I could still remember the seafaring town and the parade in the end credits, but not the title).

I AM 1/4 IRISH AND MY MOTHER AND I SAW RIVERDANCE WHEN THEY WERE IN CONNECTICUT YEARS AGO!! IT WAS AND STILL IS FANTASTIC!! AND I LOVE THE MUSIC!! LESLEY FAY HANSON

All these dancers have long retired, with most of them being in their 60s. but their impact on the world of Irish dance is still being felt today at 2024.

Wow! I have never seen this show in it's entirety. And I've seen it probably a thousand times! Is it just me, or does it have more of the African American performances? They really should have left it the way it was originally done. It's just that much more amazing!❤️

I this performance on VHS tape as a kid but must have had the edited version? I watched that a million times but never saw Michael's flute solo or the jazz tap dancers and Maria's second performance. They were all edited out! It's interesting to have an entire performance memorized but then watch something like this on the internet and realize that you never saw the whole thing
