    Does it work good on leaves that sat over winter

    • @normscorner6047
      @normscorner6047 5 месяцев назад

      Hi Donna, Well it would depend. The suction is pretty strong, but if the leaves are soaked from, say, rain or snow. Then I wouldn't recommend using it as you will clog the blades. I know this for a fact as I went side by side with someone using an electric corded leave vacuum and we both had issues with the wet leafs getting our blades clogged. If they have dried out, then you should be good to use. Thank you for watching my video. Norman

      I have not done any treatment under the deck. I will take an old putty knife and clean it up once a month. But I've never had any clumps build up underneath. I have changed the blade once. I am still using this same mower from the video and the same battery. Thank you for watching my video

      They are easier to operate than a gas mower. Their lighter in weight making it easier to push and turn, and yet cut the same as a gas mower. Less maintenance and really you just need to make sure you charge your battery. The 2 video's I have on the Ryobi lawn mower will help get you started. The mowers have changed but only slightly and the concept is still very similar. The first video I made . I'm still using that same mower with the same battery. They last, and I have only had to change the blade and the ground flap on the back of the mower. Those wore out because I mow my lawn every week from spring to fall. Thanks for watching my video. If you do get one and have question just write to me and I'll try to answer any question you have. Norman

      Hi Carolyn, Did you charge up the battery. If you just pulled it from the box. It's best to charge the battery. If it is charged. Is it completely installed. It will snap in place. Next would be to check the red key. It has to be pushed into its slot. If it's loose or not going in correctly. You may have to return it. If the red key is engaged and still doesn't start. Then, the next thing would be to push the button at the handle and hold it and then pull the bar towards the handle. Them release the button and it should start. Let me know if you still need help Thanks Norman

    • @normscorner6047
      @normscorner6047 Год назад

      Hi Maureen, The smaller trimmers are one piece. This edger is 2 pieces that have to be connected in order to work. The only thing you could do is adjust the handle on the bar and see if you can find a sweet spot that will make it easier to control with your height. Thanks for watching my video Norman

    Cool video.. I just bought this model and used it successfully once, then the second time I tried using it the string kept getting tangled around itself. I thought it was because the string was too long so I kept trimming it but it still kept getting tangled after every minute! Any thoughts of what I could be doing wrong?😭

    • @normscorner6047
      @normscorner6047 Год назад

      First, thank you for watching my video. I'm going to ask you a series of questions that will lead to troubleshooting. Did you buy this item brand new right out of the box? If you did, that's good. In case what I share with you doesn't help, then my suggestion is to return it and get another one, and it may be defective. In my video, you will see me open up the cap that covers the string cartridge. That string on the cartridge is wrapped tight. It needs to stay that way. If you open yours and the string is loose, then that is why it's shooting out too much at a time. That cartridge could be defective, and thus I would recommend you replace it with a new one. There are 2 triggers on the handle. One on the top and bottom. You have to squeeze both of them to start, but you can release the top one as that one is the trigger to release more string. It's possible that if you hold that down, it may cause the issue you're having. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks Norman

    • @normscorner6047
      @normscorner6047 Год назад

      Hi William, There could be a number of things that could be causing this issue. Depending on the model you have. Is the handle fully pulled up and locked in place? Like on mine, there is a red sensor that will get pushed in when the handle swings up in position. Staying on red. Is the red key loose? If the key is not fully ingauged, this can prevent it from starting or stalling if it's loose. If you have a cable that runs along the handle. Make sure it's not pinched somewhere when you lock the handle in place. Have you changed out the blade? Make sure it's installed correctly and you have the right blade in there. If the blade gets caught on something, it might stall the mower. Lastly is the battery. Is the battery fully pressed and locked in place. You'll be surprised how much dust can build up in there. I always blow out the inside after I remove the battery. Do you have any other equipment or tools that use the same 40v battery? Just want to make sure it isn't a battery issue. I have yet to have a battery wear out on me. If by chance it is the battery or if you don't have another tool to check it. Take the battery to home depot and see if they could install it on one of their display models. If the same thing happens then it's the battery. If you replace the battery Make sure to get the same battery height. A lot of the new mowers now come with larger in height batteries. Like my mower in the video will not take the larger ones. I explain that in my other mower video. I hope this helps you. Thank you for watching my video. Norman

    Hey! Appreciate such an awesome review. Looking to buy one myself. There seem to be a ton of negative reviews out there for this unit. I'm sure you've seen them. Have you experienced any issues with the performance or its ergonomics and do you still think it's worth getting? There's also a newer version of this, do you think it's worth spending the extra?

    • @normscorner6047
      @normscorner6047 Год назад

      When the bag gets full, then it gets heavier to move around with. However the bottom of the bag has this smooth plastic surface that makes it slide along the ground. That would be the one issue people might have. The power and the mulching makes it worth it. This unit is just a vacuum and it's cheaper if you already have the batteries which was the case for me. To answer your question on the newer model. Would I pay $400 for it. No, because the bag is much smaller and the only difference really is you get to use it as a blower. Your spending double for 25 mph extra wind force. Maybe someone who doesn't have a blower and wants both. But you're going to have to change it out more often. Thanks for watching my video. Trying to get more out there, but been busy with work. Thanks Norman

    Mine was delivered today. Is easy to assemble. Worked fine. I didn't attach the wheels. I figured that was better so to get the nozzle right on the ground. Plus it allowed me to rake the ground with the nozzle to get leaves tangled in the grass. I already had a Ryobi mower so I didn't need to buy a battery. Normally after I mow I have two lights left on the battery. After doing my yard with the vac only had one light left on the battery. When I use it again I'll try to set the power as low as possible to see if that saves the battery.
