In 1981 I was aged grotty 12 years old, and how I would love to have been the age I became 7,8,9,10, 11,12 or even 13 years later 19,20,21,22, 23, 24 or even older 26 or even 30 or 30 plus.

This aired on December 21st 1981 at 7.20pm so the ending would have been about 8.10.Happy Christmas week kids,love from the BBC! ( I was 10 !)

I remember watching this as a kid, and being stunned, it still hits hard. I plan on rewatching the series again , its a classic. So dark.

3:15 the most chilling part in this scene. The way the camera pans around the room as more soldiers appear is just haunting.

The original effects are better.

I could see this as an alternate version of the 20th, with Davison's Dr uncovering him, and him being a Dr who predates Hartnell

I remember seeing this series broadcast in America the same time that Star Trek TNG was airing . . . and thinking that BLAKE'S 7 was the better TV show, despite its next-to-nothing shoestring budget. Imagine what a big-budget Remastered version of this show could be like, as they did with Star Trek TOS! Maybe some BLAKE'S 7 fans who are talented at CGI could do, with a little time on their hands . . .

Makes you really wish we had the UNIT series we needed back in the 70s.... Very well done!

This almost happened for the 30th anniversary where the 7th Doctor would’ve died and degenerated(?) into an older 4th Doctor. Another 30th anniversary idea that was rejected involved The Toymaker. It only took 30 more years for both of these ideas to become reality.
