I have purchased your M4L device and am following along. The Pacer is seen by Ableton but not by the Nektar Pacer Editor. I have google the issue with no luck. (Edit - when in doubt, unplug, and plug back in....all good)

are you able to send the metronome display to an external display?

Thinking to get this, just wanna make sure that the converted note can then be mapped to trigger clips. I was using fcb1010 to send midi notes that I would midi map to trigger clips. Now using tone master pro and it only sends program change and cc not notes currently so wanna use this to convert cc to notes that then I can use to map onto launching those clips like the old days.

11:13 I think that this happens because the samples need to be converted into a certain format and mono before it works on these pads. Maybe thats why samples don't play correct if you import them directly, i guess.

Thank you so much for your thorough tutorials and devices. I'm curious how the one button looper is set to record starting on the next downbeat (8:04)? When I try replicating this the one button looper doesn't reference the project tempo at all.

I have a Roland Octapad with external triggers, my external triggers are Millenium and they work perfectly, I decided to buy a NonaPad so I thought I could have it as an expansion (electronic percussions, effects, extra cymbals, cowbells, extra snare, extra toms) But now I'm planning to sell this useless piece of sht, sound is really crappy and toy-ish, I bought samples from McRockling which I had to diminish half the quality (I forgot how to call such technical specifications) and at the end I never use this nonapad. It's a pain in the ass to hook it up to external triggers exactly as the reasons mentioned on this video at 20:05, extremely limited and a double zone mesh snare seems not to work. Ok, it's a cheap thing, so don't make same mistake I did. This thing might be good for 10 years old kids without serious intentions of learning drums.

How does the automate track selection work when recording in session view? Does it wait for next track selecting till playback is hit (so not while recording?)

Hi, ich hab grad versucht, zum ersten Mal Ableton Lite und das Boppad zu verwenden: keine Chance. Wie bekommst Du das Fenster unten links hin? Braucht man da dieses Max for Live devices, geht das mit Lite? Vl hat meins auch ne Macke, da kamen erst komische Space-Töne besonders wenn ich am Stecker gwackelt hab, dann hat ein Feld eine Schwachstelle und ansonsten hab ich keinen Plan. Optisch reagiert die LED, aber ich weiss nicht weiter.

Is there a way to make it work without it being on the screen, because I want to make it work while I'm editing some synth.

I know cables are better but if using Bluetooth midi, is this automatically detected on e.g. Mac? That was the main issue I had with Ampero Control - every time I switched it on I had to manually enter the coupling mode of Ampero Control and go to MacOS midi setup to enable the connection. Finally I use the Ampero Control + Widi Master as this works without any issues. Thanks in advance

Big fan - thanks for all you do. Question that I can’t seem to find an answer to. I would love to have ableton trigger a pad on the Roland. For example, I have a sound loaded on the Roland spd sx pro. Instead of hitting the pad myself, I would love to have ableton make it play using midi. Any ideas?

How does this work with MIDI mapping in Ableton? Would MIDI mapping apply after the MID message has been converted? Ideally I'm looking to use a MIDI foot controller that only outputs MIDI CC messages to MIDI map as toggle controls. In order to do so, Ableton's guidence is that the MIDI message needs to be a MIDI note, not a MIDI CC message.

Hi, vielen Dank! Warum sieht das keiner? Ich brauche, ich WILL son Teil, zwei! Ich habe hier son Avatar, NonaPad, und das würde als erstens rausfliegen. Diese Änderung der Segmentanzahl ist genial. Top wäre es wenn diese Presets via MIDI Programm Change Message gewählt werden könnten, dann kann ich mein FCB1010 oder irgendwas anderes benutzen. Dieses kleinen Knöpfchen hinten sind nicht so toll. Aber ansonsten, sehr, sehr cooles Teil!

a question, because it's driving me crazy. I did some live improvisations using the looper device, several in fact in different tracks. And pressed record in the arrangement in ableton so that later I could do a bounce of the live improvisation and have a recording, but I can't get looper to export properly the way it sounded during the improv. It usually won't stop playing the loops or if it does, they fall out of sinc or other weirdness. How can I export a live looping session?

Hello, just curious - I'm watching all your videos trying to understand what all the different M4L devices are for and where they each differ - my question is - in regards to the LPD-8 which has both buttons and knobs and you have the Advanced MIDI Control for buttons and another for knobs/faders - since the LPD-8 has both is it necessary to have both devices or am i misunderstanding ?
