your holiday cactus is actually a Thanksgiving cactus....it has the poity tips on its segments, where as the Christmas cactus has longer segments wither rounded tips like the easter cactus....a true Christmas cactus is a rare thing to find.

Are you still teaching with VIPKID? I m a mother of a student who is looking for a good teacher. I searched your name from the lesson list. Ive tried many different teachers for my kid but it is not easy to find a good teacher... many of them.. they just want to finish the lesson and not putting much effort on it.. which is very disappointing...

You can freeze the oil in there as well if you want. I freeze ice cubes trays with olive oil and fresh herbs before they can spoil

You are soo nice and kind. I big thumb up for your commitment to the platform. BUT, once a brand gets really big and famous, they start to do ugly things, sometimes illegally, and those that are nice and committed have to suffer the most. Yes, they did provide that trip but I think they knew what was coming and how people will be impacted. Sometimes, thinking about yourself more than others is a sign of a high self-esteem, not selfishness. I'd have dumped them straight away.

I'm a former teacher with VK. I went off to work with other platforms but I'm considering to start VK again to fill in gaps. Our facebook group as been very quiet so I was curious to know how things were. I think I found the equivalent to VK with a Korean based company. I'm happy. I'm happy you won that trip. When you teach your old student, are you paid under the low Global pay scale or under your former VIPKID pay scale from The Good Old Days? Is there any possible VIPKID teaching that pays the same as The Good Old Days (teaching adults, etc.)? Thanks and greetings from Taipei, Taiwan

I found your video while researching the best head phones for teaching online. I currently use old school wired apple earphones. the sound for the students is good, but I do not like being attached to my computer. I was thinking of buying apple's airpods and your video confirmed this will be a good choice. Thanks for sharing.

I still teach 1 kid with VIPKID 3x per week. We are riding out his contact then we are both leaving vipkid. I've also been with them since November 2017. Vipkid saved my life at that time. Like you, though, I can no longer recommend them. It makes me so sad to feel that way. The one kid that I teach at VIPKID, the parent had to demand that they hook me up with him as his teacher on the global platform. They kept telling her they couldn't do it and she just pushed and pushed until they did. It took about 3 weeks.

Ty for this update. I was curious how things were going with VIPKID and I'm happy to hear a good report. I saw a Snapchat memory pop up today (29 October) of my very last day I taught, I miss my students so much. I'm so sad that I didn't get closure as I didn't feel that I should or could even speak of it coming to an end. I was never able to get Wechat going because getting verified is a pain. I also live in CA so that leaves me out of participating in Global VIPKID. I'm with ya though and don't blame you one bit because, if I could still teach I would most certainly open class even if it was just one student.

I'd like to know how you like teaching for Native Camp. Like you, I was fast tracked- haven't started yet. It seems super simple.

I really dislike their happiness policy. They seem to be only looking out for the student not the teacher. For example, I created a condensed flex course. I had the parent ask me to upload more than the norm (weeks ahead) and then they ask for a refund. So they basically took 4 weeks of curriculum. Outschool still allowed it. Also, for other teachers reading this. Outschool is self employment and if you teach a flex course then they pay you upfront. This means if a parent wants a refund you have to pay Outschool from your Paypal, which is weird but true. So you have to keep up with all of that for your taxes.

I was on there years ago, maybe in 2017 then got rehired later. I had to stop in fall 2021 as I became a FT teacher in 2020, and it was getting too much for me but kept signing contracts. I have looked into jobs with schools elsewhere like Japan and Korea, but $9/hr?! I believe they are targetting English speakers elsewhere with a lower cost of living...I can't justify that when I could work nights / weekends in a local shop for more.

On the UA, submitted through Google form, what is the format for the last question "content"? I don't understand how to submit the student's score.

I also let my contract expire last year. I just resigned since they sent me several emails but I don't see anywhere on the classroom tab to open my or set my schedule. Should that feature still be there?

I rememer following your China trip!! Amazing! I too have suffered a huge loss. Trying to get back to it now, had to stop during the summer. I have a new global contract but I only have two certications on the "International Tab". Did I miss a recertification email? I was certified for all the major courses and Supplemental Courses.

Before working for VIPKID I subbed for all the reasons you said. It was flexible and you can pick your own schedule. I stopped subbing as much when I found VIPKID. I definitely had good days and bad days. I worked ALL over the county. So I worked for schools where the other teachers were SUPER kind and helpful and ones where they don’t even say hi or acknowledge you. I had classes where I said I would NEVER go back. I accidentally let my sub license lapse during 2020. Now, I work PT at a private school. I occasionally sub for other teachers when out, on top of my PT job. It’s much easier because the class sizes are under 10 kids. I still have kids who try to take advantage of the sub, but it’s still more manageable with less kids.

i hope VipKid will flourish again back to its former glory, this company is amazing!

I haven’t taught since August of 2020. I got an email to renew my contract so I did. But I feel so rusty. I have a classroom background since I homeschool but do I still need props?

I have taught a few classes on global, and it was interesting. I had kids from Hong Kong mainly. I stopped doing it because Outschool does pay more. But Outschool is also not the best because the bookings are not super consistent. I think I will sub too! Just curious, are you able to teach full-time in public school? I had a certificate but I let it expire and I haven't been back for 9 years.

Good to hear from you. I tried to open a few slots last fall and got no bookings. I teach one of my VIPKID students independently. I also work at other companies that make much more money. I’m going to keep signing the contracts since there’s no minimum hours. You never know when you’ll need it for a rainy day.
