i have 300 hours in banished and have never heard this or don't remember hearing it??

This song takes me back to the wonder, amazement, and confusion of when I first started learning the game. I loved zooming in on the villagers while my population was still tiny and just watching them work.

Such a cool intro. If you guys like the entirety of the song, you should check out the Equilinox soundtrack as well. That one is more whimsical, but they’re very similar.

This is my favorite track from Banished. I shared it with my mom, and although she was impressed, she apparently disconcerted by the throat singing.

This is classic The calm before a forest fire

With this one I always felt like someone or some animal wanders through the snowy forests, happens upon the town where the people are celebrating that they made it halfway through the winter. You, or a Fox or whatever else stalks around the village unnoticed, curious, but not willing to reveal yourself. People dance in the townsquare, drums beat and people sing, while also mourning those they lost in the previous year. Finally you turn away, returning to your own journey and leaving this strange village behind.

I love this, it's haunting. It's the voices that get me. How do they hold their breath for so long.

our situation is dire

A writing tutor gave me a cracked copy of this game a long time ago and while I remember being terrible at the game, I have even stronger memories of this song in particular. Just watching the game on fast forwards as rain begins and ends, the seasons change, crops grow and then get harvested, forests are slowly cleared, and your entire population dying of old age because there weren't enough houses for new couples to get busy in. Joking aside, this song makes me think of the unpreventable passage of time, and fits perfectly with the game.

This song playing as my settlement slowly grows. As the winter makes comes and the trees lose their leaves. Amazing.

the song has parts that seem to tell a story first half: your town is growing, prospering, but you feel as if something in wrong. as if all is TOO right, too quiet... second part: disaster strikes! plagues, tornadoes, starvation! the end seems to be nearing every season...
