San Clemente Pier is a popular landmark located in San Clemente, California, right along the Pacific coast. It’s known for its beautiful views of the ocean, the sandy beaches, and the iconic orange and pink hues of the sunsets. The pier extends out into the ocean, making it a great spot for fishing, strolling, or just enjoying the coastal breeze.
The area around the pier has a relaxed, beach-town vibe with a variety of restaurants and shops. It’s also a good spot for watching surfers and sometimes even spotting...

Fishing at Shelter Island again. Unfortunately, I did not capture it on camera, but my fishing pole almost went over the railing twice! In the video, I ask for tips and tricks to catch fish. What setup do you use when fishing at the pier or in the ocean?
Fishing at PB (pacific beach) and going back to shelter island

Went fishing at Crystal Pier in PB, but no luck - it was closed. Tried to fish from the side, but it was a pain. Ended up just heading back to Shelter Island. Still had a blast fishing, though!

Had an awesome day out on a charter boat, reeling in some fish like a pro! It was seriously the best way to spend a day - the sun, the sea breeze, and the thrill of the catch! I didn’t exactly land Moby Dick or anything, but I did manage to hook a few decent ones. Nothing crazy huge, but hey, they put up a good fight! It’s all about the experience, right? Very nice place to even go for a walk, lots of boats passing by and jet ski!!! Go check it out! Fishing at Santee Lakes, Ca The address is 9310 Fanita Pkwy, Santee, Ca 9207. This is a really nice place to spend the day. They offer a lot to do. The park has 7 lakes total, which the first 5 are for the public, The other two are for the campgrounds. They have cabins and a general store. They have play areas and bathrooms for use. Crystal pier is also closed. Only u can cast from the closed gate. Room for like 4 people max.

It is a great pier. Try fishing in San Diego. You might get a lot more fish in San Diego's ocean waters. The surf fishing in San Diego can produce a lot more fish. Tight Lines.

Sweet! What time of the day did you go? I always have a tough time trying to get a catfish there. Only ever caught about 2 or 3
@@fattsy1018 I went in the morning! I don’t recall time but want to say I caught it between 9am to 10am. After that didn’t catch anything else haha. Try to go when they stock and see what baits work best. I was using chicken and mixed it with some things haha. I’ve heard hotdogs are good also but haven’t tried it.

Hey dude this looks like a nice place to fish. If I were you I try to Masir this location and see what you get out of it. Especially und of the pier that is a cross from your left. You should try throwing over there. It is good luck. Enjoy fishing. I will be enjoying it soon.Ha ha ha ha ha

Dude, that's a Spotted Bay Bass 14inches is a legal size to keep. Cool video. I kayak fish shelter island ,it's good for halibut.

Live sardine is the best bait around shelter island. But the only way to get Live bait is at the bait barge. By kayak or boat.

That pier has a pipeline or some cable lines running Parallel on the front side of it. You will always get snagged if you cast or drift too far and let it drift down. It's so stupid because the tangled mass of line , lures and other terminal tackle keeps just piling up. Why would they have that structure right in front of fishing pier.

Just FYI overhead casting in NOT permitted there. I once saw a guy getting ticketed for it, and it wasn't cheap.

@@MrBttq I’ve only fished this place a few times and never seen anyone be ticketed. Honestly out of all the years I’ve fished I’ve never been asked for my fishing license or questioned 🤣
How big of a hook do you use? Sometimes they swallow the hook if its too small 😢
@@fattsy1018 I normally use a size 6 or 8 I try to be careful and not let the fish take the hook for too long long because that’s when it swallow it.

If you'd like to go pier fishing, best place to go would be Oceanside Pier.

@@mikecalfishing .. The restaurant at the end of the pier is closed because of fire not the pier
@@kennethrodriguez9589 oh really! I thought the pier was closed. I will have to check it out. I really wanted to go but I thought they closed the whole pier unless they just had it closed in the beginning.
@@mikecalfishing .. yeah the pier opened in May of this year. Matter of fact I'm going to Saturday. Going to fish for some crockers by the little store on the pier.

Just a little advice, don't take the little ones(shrimp) or ones with eggs,. Best place to get them is dog beach
@@santeelocal I know! I caught a few with eggs and released them. I didn’t realize this one had some until i was about to hook it :/

should hit up the shore lines ...harbor island, the rocks near the Bali Hai, Spanish Landing etc. Piers suck when they're crowded.

watermelon colored soft plastics with a shakey head or drop shot it. cast into shallow/shaded/ areas off the bank. best way i’ve found to catch bass.

Nice bro! I was there this week and caught 2 12-13 inch bass at lake 3. Some kid caught a 15 lb bass a couple weeks ago.

FWIW there's catfish and dinky bass. You just need a chunk of nightcrawler on a small hook
