T100 is getting a huge influx of Olympians. Elder and more seasoned athletes will choose ironman pro series. They won't be able to compete with olympians anyway in shorter distances. But they have a better chance in longer distances.

At this growth rate, only 45 years left until athletes race every day of the year 🙃

I think that Lena Meißner might be another dark horse nobody mentions possibly

It's probably a common occurrence, but it feels like everyone overestimates the short course athletes who really haven't done any big 70.3 and just converts the performance 1:1 without attributing for the completely different bike

I think it's a pretty accurate prediction. My original podium predictions was the same but Geens instead of Bergere for second however I can easily see this result play out too.

I'm from taupō and I am from Tri Sport Taupo club. I got the amazing experience to talk to Hayden Wilde and Kyle smith about the upcoming race. They both said their confident to race a great race and have a crack at winning.

I did IM Tallinn and we supposed to swim in rhe Lake. But the level of algae was elevated so swim was moved to the Baltic sea. And it's just very very shallow 😅 even where we were swimming we could stand at any point as it was a neck deep. It was better than not swimming for sure. But it was quite funky. Especially loosing time walking back to the shore ( we jumped from the platform, pro had to run both ways). I met Kat there and she was really nice to us, squilling.

Hope it's a Great race no matter what ! Getting away from crazy (and dangerous) Heat & Humidity will give everyone a clear shot to perform at their best, if their plan comes together. Many can win this race, the field is huge & packed with lots of Talented & Competitive Women.🍿😎

I think, this time around, Gentle may be a little more close to Knibb than at the last few T100s, maybe ahead of Derron, but not sure. Would also love to see Laura Madsen breaking into the Top10. 1) Knibb 2) Derron 3) Gentle 4) Matthews 5) Findlay

I don't know... I love Hayden and would like him to win, but I kinda feel like this is another KB situation like how everyone picked him for the win, and then Lange surprised the majority of people. My top: 1) Jelle Geens 2) Hayden Wilde 3) Kyle Smith Dont think Bergere will be nearly as good as everyone is hoping for him to be.

Hard to pick the difference between Kyle and Hayden... both in great form and both from Taupo. The bike course and road chip could be telling, but the home town advantage will be make either hard to pick from.

Worth noting that neither Wilde nor Bergére have raced with Race Ranger before.

Top knoch analysis, as always, Sam. I do think that Rico Bogen will pay the price for a great season and will return to his inconsistency with a not so good performance. Other than that, agree with your Top 4, so for me would be: 1) Wilde; 2) Bergére; 3) Smith; 4) Geens; 5) Stornes

Don't underestimate the home advantage, reckon some of the lower ranked kiwi's could push for a top 10, the knowledge on how to ride the chip and the effort to push especially later in the ride will come in handy. For Kyle especially I see that home crowd giving him extra wings - Like trying to beat the All Blacks at home :)

Is there any difference in points/scoring for the Olympic athletes? They were only required to race 3 times (2 after one race was removed) and the grand final. They didn’t have the same opportunity for points as the rest of the field. This was removed for Taylor Knibb and Martin van Riel who both raced in San Francisco before the Olympics.

Please do an update after the race. Your analysis is valuable.

Kate is my dark horse to sneak up into the top 5, assuming the bike course is too technical to break things up much. She seems really well rounded and confident, even with the extremely short notice going into Ibiza and Vegas. Hopefully the extra lead time going into Dubai allows her to plan and prep better for the specifics of the course.

Very good analysis for the T100 men in Vegas. I think you nailed it.

The main factor that all of this analysis misses is the heat. It will not be an ounce of a factor. That desert heat wouldn't matter if it was 40c, that air doesn't hold the humidity.

My opinion is that Dubrick will be highly motivated. My opinion is he thought he was slighted in not being allowed to defend his title in San Francisco.
