More Brent Campbell
Добавлен 24 авг 2016
I've had my primary RUclips channel - called "Brent Campbell" (ruclips.net/user/brentdcampbell) - since 2009. Over time, I began adding dozens and dozens of videos I'd made mostly about my BMW E46 M3 and E60 M5, and some car enthusiasts have since subscribed - expecting to see car videos when I add new ones.
To enable me to add videos publicly about other topics, I've decided to create this channel for videos NOT about cars.
I also have a RUclips channel focused on sharing Health and Wellness insights here, where I'm putting most of my energy: ruclips.net/channel/UCjPFofLgf2WTmuP7F_3k-Hg.

Tulsa's New Pedestrian Bridge - Williams Crossing
Last Friday night - Aug. 30th, '24 - standing along the path just a few feet above the Arkansas River and just under the pedestrian bridge stretching above, observing kids splashing in delight over the new water feature, I reminisced over the view from the same spot some 30-40 years ago. If you'd have told me this would all be here now, I wouldn't have believed you. No way.
For one, this new version dazzles and amazes in ways visitors to the old Riverparks and simple Pedestrian Bridge (long ago converted from a railroad bridge www.tulsapeople.com/city-desk/beloved-bridge/article_d45536e0-0270-11eb-8edf-dfd3f3fe3b6a.html) could only dream about, let alone engineer and build. Tulsa's Transformed Waterfront Bridges the Arkansas River
Просмотров 119Месяц назад
Tulsa has transformed its riverfront with the creation of Zink Lake, the construction of a new pedestrian bridge called Williams Crossing, and the development of the Tulsa Wave Park. The hope is to turn the Arkansas River into a focal point of recreation and community gathering. With the 4-day "Big Dam Party" this weekend, the planners pulled out all the stops to get the community out to see it...

Introduced at a party in Manhattan last fall, NYU tech and tourism professor Richie Karaburun and I immediately hit it off. Given our many mutual interests - Tulsa, New York City, economics, history, and how America and the world have evolved the way they have, to name a few - we have a lot to talk about. Seeing Tulsa as an undiscovered gem, he oversaw a study about Tulsa as a destination. I fo...
Flying Over and Around Pittsburgh and Saint Louis's Gateway Arch

Heading west in the M5, it was a two-day journey, and I had 2.5 days to do it, so I figured why not make some pitstops and have a look around? Pittsburgh has become one of my favorite cities. The geography of it - essentially an island bordered by rivers accessed from the east through tunnels blasted through the rock of Mount Washington. To say the least, the entrance is dramatic. The architect...

Finding Famous Tulsa Oilman Josh Cosden's Resting Place
That backing-track immediately makes me smile. Some daring drone-flying going on there I must say, speaking from a position of complete ignorance you understand. A few very desirable riverfront properties too, not to mention the sweet infrastructure... The E46 is looking majestic! The years are rollin' by...
I'm glad you watched, enjoyed, and are also a sucker for infrastructure like you are cars. They go hand in hand, after all! About two-thirds in to the video, I paused over my childhood home long enough to show just how close all of this is to it -- long before much of this was a possibility. It's been fun to watch.
That's one mightily refreshing stream from where I'm sitting. I am now thirsty as hell! Some wonderfully unspoilt country as far as the drone can see!
Glad you enjoyed it….and that you’ve followed me over here. The M5 will eat tarmac for days! Gravel roads… not so much. The drone comes in handy there. ;)
Looks awesome. I keep waiting for narration like one of those documentaries I watch!
That's great you watched this, Dave. I add a detailed description for each. Here's this one's: "This is Southampton, New York's Road D Beach - 100 miles east of Manhattan and one of my favorite places on Earth - on April 16th, 2024. The music is from the soundtrack from the 1997 film, The Saint. I saw Southampton's Beach the first time in the spring of 2005 when my boss - and brilliant adman who taught me so much - Orson Munn III, showed it to me on a "beach drive." A generations-long Southampton resident, this place is deeply special to him and his family, and upon seeing it I immediately understood why. Orson had graciously invited me out to his family's weekend home so he could give me pointers on his vintage BMW motorcycle, helping me prepare for my week-long tour of Arizona on Harleys with my best friend going back to 8th grade - Jim Webster (the video Jim made about that trip is here: • Arizona Harley-Davidson roadtrip ) Orson might've taken me out in his Mustang and let that glorious V8 stretch its legs a bit, too. ;) Over the last 10-15 years, Southampton's Road D Beach has become a must-stop on my annual "Day of Brent" trip out to the Hamptons. Standing on that beach and taking in the sea breeze feels like all the world's problems don't much matter, the way the rich air seems to nurture my lungs when I breathe it in, flowing in from the seemingly-boundless Atlantic Ocean. In recent trips to the Hamptons friend, photographer, and film director Owen Elliott has joined me. He shares my astonishment with the place. It's been fun showing him around and seeing his eyes light up the way mine always do when heading "Out East." Anyway, this short drone clip I captured should give you a taste of this special place that has long felt like home to me.. far, far, far away from home."
Quite a social, no make that a _very_ social event. Looked a lot of fun. Great choice of music too. I haven't heard that in a while!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah - it's a sight to see. When I was walking up there, I found myself relating to a particular scene from the movie "Dazed & Confused" when newbie Mitch is taking in the party scene over by the Moon Tower. Dr. John was playing on the soundtrack. Had to use it! I'll see if I can find the scene..

Awesome. Thank you
Great video. Thank you
cool...really cool.....
Thank you!
Why are you using the score from The Social Network? Distracting.
Good catch! It felt right to me.
So what we have is a bunch of rich white celebrities soothing their white guilt as they make millions on the Osage tribe once again. The Osage get brutalized again and the white guys get to prance around the red carpet patting each other on the back for their PC wokeness.
❤ loved this film. The cinematography, cast. Superb.
I have no interest in a movie about Native Americans made by old white guys. And I refuse to look at Leo make all those goon expressions for 3.5 hours. Masterpiece or not- Hard 👎
This story relates to everyone, every community in everywhere.
Sad but true. Saw it yesterday, and it did not disappoint. Much as I walked out shaking my head at humanity.
Those roads were made for the M5. Beautiful scenery.
Also checkout the Australian Pink Floyd Show next time they’re in your city if you haven’t already. Saw them last year and they put on a great show.

That M2 CS really is an outrageously good looking car. Def my dream car. M5 is a classic and what a noise.

@@brentdcampbell what are your thoughts (and your brothers) on the new M2? I'm still undecided. Thanks for the link. Been a follower of the other channel for a long time! Love both your cars and admire how well you look after them.
@@charliecooper7655 I'm glad to hear, Charlie. As for the new M2, well, it's fast and ugly. :) For the longer answer, we'll definitely be making a video about just that in the coming weeks. Ha!
Fun! Love watching you learn to use your new toy! Have you crashed it into a tree (or a car) yet? I want to see a blooper reel!
Ha! Yes - I crashed it almost immediately - into a twig! Thankfully tape and super glue fixed it well enough.
@brentdcampbell mine has been surprisingly durable through multiple crashes. Mine even got blown away one day when I was flying it in Woodward park and it was too windy. Luckily I was able to U Use the "find my drone" feature. It was hovering near Swan Lake waiting for me!
@@TulsaTaurus That's good to know. Yeah, I'll be using the "Return to home" feature at some point. It was so humbling to crash, but I figure since I got lucky I'll take the lesson and do my best not to forget it!
@brentdcampbell i haven't used that feature much. I'm always afraid it will guide itself into a tree. Also RTH feature doesn't work if it blows out of range. 😊
@@TulsaTaurus Yeah - I gather that to get one that truly keeps itself out of trouble, you've gotta pay through the nose. Guess we're white-knuckling it!
Great video, and great points made! I was excited when Tulsa King shot here, thinking that it might help to get the message out that Tulsa is a real city with all the real city amenities. Imagine my disappointment when they show a random horse running around downtown and everyone acts like it's normal, he is offered a spangled cowboy suit as "a real Tulsa suit" and it is indicated that the Mayo is the only nice hotel in town. Still...it's nice to see recognizable Tulsa landmarks identified as such. Maybe it will grow from here.
Hey Erin - That's cool you saw this. I may have one more edit to make before it's ready for prime time, yet I am quite determined to help get the word out about wonderful city. I plan to subscribe to Paramount+ starting next month mostly so I can see "Tulsa King." Though I'm curious about the "Yellowstone" spinoffs, too. Sadly, TV shows and movies are rarely created to show off the place where they're shot; rather, the location is there to serve as a backdrop for the story. Do you think how I put it in the video is fair, though? People will be fascinated by Tulsa, but they still won't understand why the place is so special. My hunch is that - like I did with Montana when I started watching "Yellowstone" - people will see the shows and movies and be intrigued to look deeper to understand the place...and hopefully want to come visit and more.
@brentdcampbell yes, I thought you put it well. The things I've seen- especially TK- unabashedly show Tulsa landmarks as what they are. Not trying to pass for another place. I think you're right, that it might spark an interest, get the name in people's mind so that when they see something else they'll stop to consider it. I wish Tulsa could become a bastion to the arts like Austin or Savanah or Santa Fe. We need an established Arts school like SCAD or some of the others I can't think of now.
@@TulsaTaurus It's cool that they're showing the place as it is and for what makes it unique. So many cities - especially the farther outside the city center you get - tend to look pretty much the same. Interesting what you say about an arts school. I worked on a study for the School of Visual Arts in NYC this year. That's certainly a helluva way to attract creative people to a community.
Thanks for sharing this! It really makes me excited for my own upcoming trip to Hawaii. 🌈
