I also have a Mako 18 Lts. Just as you said. The versatility of being able to fish fresh and salt. I got a new 2017 with a 115merc. Great boat for the most part. Has a few things they can improve I’d say. But still a super good boat ..

Also, whats your top speed?

Im thinking about purchasing one new with the 115 pro xs. Would you recommend it?

I had a 2010 Mako 18 LTS and loved it. HOWEVER... It did have its issues. The center console was poorly attached to the deck, it came loose and could rock left to right. The rear holds would fill with 3-4 inches of water while floating still but would empty out when moving. There was also a spot on the bow deck that the fiber glass construction was extremely thin and actually was punctured by a dropped fishing rod. It is very well designed and laid out, but it seems cost cutting shortcuts were taken during construction. I no longer own the boat, as I had to move to Germany and could not take it with me. Come to find out I was not the only one to have these issues, hopefully Mako has addressed these issues and are putting out better quality, if so I would certainly buy another.

Had a brand new one for about a year.what junk mako has become..looks good from 10 foot away but take a closer look and you'll find endless flaws. Built the cheapest way possible..half the screws were stripped or in sideways thing was a joke... theres no way it would have stayed solid for more then a few years..look under the sidewalls and you'll see what i mean. There's a reason why theses boats are cheaper then the rest..do yourself a favor stay away from mako boats....what good is a so called lifetime warranty on junk...

ive been looking at these. Would you be confortable running out in the Gulf a ways or around inlets on the Atlantic in it? I want somthing big enough to do that but small enough to go freshwater when i want.

I have one I bought earlier this year and I love it! Mine was just boat motor and jack plate so I added trolling motor and power poles. Its a great little boat!
