This video is a follow up to the first ZP6 and K6 battle. In the first video someone pointed out that the ZP6 and the K6 share a lot of physical attributes like the catch cup and the way you change the grind size and more so I did the physical comparison of the two. And as a continuation we are doing the flavor comparison now and I was really surprised with the results.

how often do you clean you manual grinder?
@@rattle899 before i used to clean them weekly. But since i have different grinders now i would clean then only when i see that they need the cleaning. Or when im calibrating a new coffee that i need to clear out contents of the inside. I would do like the detailed cleaning with oil and steel brush once a month.
@@darylbuenocoffee do you normaly grind different kind of origin bean without cleaning in the same grinder just for regular drinking not when making content?
@@rattle899 yes, i dont particularly clean them whenever i change beans - i would only do so if i am making contents that would test grind sizes or tasting new coffees. Otherwise, if the content is about a recipe or a dripper or for my everyday consumption i would leave it be. Maybe do some light dusting on the bottom but that's it.
@@darylbuenocoffee appriciate it for sharing knowledge and experience on this. am relatively new venturing in to this new hobby of mine haha. again Thank you.
So I think I calibrated it. When I’m at zero I feel resistance when I try to grind. When I move up or down I feel it can grind regularly is this then calibrated on zero or not? Thanks in advance
@@icedchief when you calibrate to zero, it should be the end of the setting you will not be able to move further than zero. If you do this It should start moving at around 3/4 clicks. That is my calibration though. The factory calibration recommends you to put your 1 click at the first time the axle will move. This normally gives you -3 to -4 clicks beyond zero. My calibration on the otherhand will not let you go past zero
@@darylbuenocoffee when I do anti clockwise I can go 3 past 0. Is this ok and calibrated to zero like factory ?

I haven't released the chart for ZP6 yet. Im still in the process of preparing them for easier viewing.
Do You use an app to see de grind size or clicks in the grinders? Like to compare? Thanks
@@samuelalejandrocamargosaav297 i actually did my own tests and measurements using various apps. So i use 3 different tools to create my charts - the difluid particle analyzer, the gagne tool and the kruve sifter and brewler tandem.
I just got a K6 after I tried sifting my Baratza Encore. The results are a lot more uniform. I am also grinding at an angle so it supposedly feeds in slower. I wonder if it would pick up on a test like this if you compared the two methods (holding the grinder straight vs at an angle).
@@surrealchemist hi! I have the exact video you're looking for :) just go to my playlists under slowfeed test folder :)

@@RossTwentyOne sorry i dont own a c2 - the one that i used in old videos i only borrowed them. I havent got a comparison of the two.
Just wondering, have you tried the “mode 2” aka flower configuration of the suiren? It’s that by placing ribs front and back (i hope i’m making sense). Hoping you can share your thoughts on it and probably experience.
@@LCBran yes actually that's the first thing i did when i got my suiren. Sadly i havent gone in depth to the effects of that mode. Hopefully i get more time in the future so i can get that experiment started.
Great idea to share it. :D
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey ,longish time fan here but i wanted to point out that theres an inherent flaw in this test ,namely that you brewerd using 2 different grind sizes . While the c3 is at 600 microns the p2 is at around 422 , 18 would have been much closer to 20 clicks on the c40 [600 microns]. Hope that maybe you can do a retest while correcting theese errors.
@@terminatedtag930 hi the test is based on my conversion chart that i made using the difluid particle analyzer and gagne particle analyzer. Im not saying that my conversion is absolutely the right one but i trust in it more.

This a great video. Been considering P2 since your first video on it. With this, it seems like it’s close with C3. So now, i’m less tempted to buy one cos I already got c3 at home. Thank you making contents like this. Out of curiosity, what happens during a bar takeover?
@@LCBran wow i appreciate that. Bar takeovers normally you have a different brewer/barista takeover your shop/booth. If it happens in a cafe setting - it depends on the cafe if the drinks are going to be free or paid - its just that the brewer with special skills will be brewing your coffee. Sometimes they showcase special beans too. If the takeover happens in an expo setting - usually the coffees are free and they showcase special beans brewed by someone who they trust will make their coffee really good. just a food for thought, I think recipes are better classified by the coffee's dominant taste notes, instead of classifying them by their processing. For example, I have a recipe that works well for floral coffees, another recipe that works with citrusy/juicy, another for chocolatey, etc...
@@meursault.1984 i agree but dont discount recipes change depending on process to, for example you dont always want to use high temp recipes for anaerobic natural processed coffees bec they would likely highlight the fermenty and bright features of the coffee - so you want to offset it lower the temp lengthen contact time to get sweeter than bright cup.

What? You are just using it wrong? There's no timer, it automatically turns off after 20 seconds. The power icon in the middle is a but confusing though but I think they mean it will turn on when you put stuff on it. The tare just tares the weight to 0 if you put a measurement cup on it. I use mine all the time if I can afford some marges on the weights :D. It's not as bad as the video makes it look like.
What I am trying to say is that it really depends on your use case if it is a usable scale for you :). And coffee beans don't seem one of the use cases this is a good scale for, I do agree there.
@@melvincornelissen9292 sorry sorry, yes that was wrong of me. I should've mentioned that if you intend using it for brewing your coffee then its not the right scale.
