Micro Feather Game Changer Tutorial
A "MFGC" or Micro Feather Game Changer tutorial, a pattern developed by Blane Chocklett. This version is scaled down to about 3" overall opening up opportunities to throw this fantastic pattern in smaller water or to picky fish.
There are a ton of variations to this platform, these can be made with all synthetic materials, Arctic Fox, and really any materials to suit your fishery.
Materials Needed:
Hen Saddle
Flymen Micro Spines
Marabou for tailing
Flashabou or Krystal Flash
Heavy wire, wide gape hook in size 4 or 6
Articulation wire - Intruder wire or beadalon
Tab eyes or JC eyes
This is my first video ever, comments are welcome to help improve my video content in the future.
Thanks for watching ...

    Great tie. Would be a nice dirty murky water contrast pattern with the black head and tail.

    Thanks for **demonstrating** so many things while executing this (somewhat) complex pattern! Your handling of the chenille and feathers will help me a lot as I do more and more GCs! And BTW, you are so Zen, a fly-tying Buddha and great to listen to as well as watch your technique! Tight lines!

    On the 6 mm shanks do you continue to progress your taper or do you use feathers the same width, then get wider with the 8 mm

    If your not using a brush on the head do you just use more feathers?

    • @channelislandsflies8429
      @channelislandsflies8429 4 года назад

      Jace Ross Yep! Just use more feathers and Palmer chenille, just like the back of the hook, it usually takes one or two more stacks of feather and chenille to make it all the way to the head.

      @@channelislandsflies8429 Thanks for the well explained video. Can you use a dubbling loop with EP fibers cut to length instead of the brush?

    • @channelislandsflies8429
      @channelislandsflies8429 3 года назад

      @@billgouckenour2146 Sure can! I just use a brush or chenille because it's convenient but you can definitely spin up dubbing loops.

      @@channelislandsflies8429 Thanks. Just thought that the head would look great with some EP finers. But there are a lot of fibers out there and i do have some EP brushes as well. Thanks and stay safe!
