Musical 3d Printer Bambu A1 Sea Shanty
I am using an Ulti maker 2+ Connect the past 8 years, wanna switch to Bambu Should i go for X1E or X1C, If we put aside the network Upgrade
My A1 detects when a build plate isn't in place. It's not exclusive to X1C
The A1 didn't exist when this video was made. Also, the X1 is capable of detecting if you have the correct buildplate loaded. Thanks for the comment
Throw them in the ultrasonic cleanerand you will have very clean and good tools.
My A1 started printing garbage. Turns out the little clips that hold the nozzle in were not clipped all the way. So the nozzle was moving around.
@@boboscurse4130 yep...that would do it 😅

Mine arrives tomorrow. Thanks for the tips.
Corrupt gcode
Same exact thing just happened on my A1
🎉🎉
spooky💀
@@TheBlazerader definitely weird to say the least

@@peshvadefinite1008 lol
corrupt or damaged gcode maybe?
That would be my guess. I've had a similar issue that was solved by re-slicing and using a different memory card.
@@Viper-zk9mv yes that is my best guess...i have seen weird stuff like this before and it has always been either bad gcode or a dying sd card...we will see
great share🎉 thank u
Simple and straight to the things that matter. Thank you.
Straight to the point, thank you!
How about the noise? Is P1S much louder?
@@JohnNeo i dont notice any difference between the two so if there is it is minor.
Yeah let's not talk about how the p1s has less out of the box material support.
@TheGamersRace well this video was only going over things that i hadn't heard other people talking about. Multiple people had covered this already so i didn't bring it up.
@@How2Texan I rarely hear anyone talk about it. The X1C has pathetic material support out of the box, and the p1s is even worse. For $1500 I should be able to print at least the basic "exotic" materials, such as PPS-CF.
@TheGamersRace consider the target audience. I personally can't Name another printer that is less money, just as easy to use, doesn't require hours or even days of careful assembly, consistently produces high quality prints, and can print exotic materials. If you know of one let me know so i can buy one 😀
@@How2Texan This is why I'm waiting for their new printer to come out. Two years ago I'd agree with you, and in some aspects they still dominate, such as quality control, but in the list you just provided there are better options now. One recent example being the qidi plus 4. It has just a hair more features than the Bambu, but those features give it so much more versatility. What it lacks in some of your comparisons, it makes up for in the extra features and lower price. Actively heated chamber, 370c hotend, bigger volume, ceramic heat break, etc. other companies are catching on, and Bambu is slipping hard with their mediocre specs that no longer push the boundaries, relying on gimmicky AI and lidar bs that while people do enjoy, is not as enjoyable as a versatile yet reliable printing experience. They've got the reliable, they need to get the versatile down now or people are going to look elsewhere.
@TheGamersRace specs are not everything. I have used qidi printers. Even for the price, i was disappointed, and their customer service was, in my experience, worse than bambu. I honestly had an easier time and better prints with an ender 3 than with the qidi. I have also seen reviews for a few of the qidi released sense bambu hit the market. While none of those reviews were terrible, they also weren't glowing endorsements. Bambus new machine should be launched by next quarter. I am not sure it will entirely close the gap spec wise because again, bambu has a target audience, but i suspect it will be a new game changer in its own right. I'm very excited about it.
Hey, I just got that same exact build plate (the diamond and "carbon fiber" pattern) for my A1 but im having a ton of trouble with it. Are your prints good with it? For me, adhesion was a problem, but I bumped the bed temp to 95c and its good. But I cant get the pattern to transfer good. There's always visible lines and imperfections. Any suggestions and/or what you did with yours?
@reflexgaming342 95c? What filament are you printing? It sounds like you may be using ABS. The CF side of the buildplate is PEO, and PEO is only really good for PLA, TPU, and PETG. Good news, though, PEO should be able to withstand 120c temps so your buildplate was not damaged by the 95c temps. That said, there are normally only two reasons why a filament is not recommended for a buildplate. The first reason is that a material does not stick or does not stick well. The second reason is that the material sticks too good and can damage the plate when removing parts. I do not know which ABS falls into for PEO. Buildplates can be a tricky subject. You need the right buildplate for the job you are doing, and sometimes, even though a buildplate is recommended for a particular material, it will not be the best choice for the model you are printing. Hope this helps, please let me know if you need more help.
@How2Texan I am using PETG. I usually use 80c on the stock A1 plate and it works good with a bit of glue stick for adhesion. But I didn't want to use an adherent for this plate, so I put it to 95c. And what about the pattern? Are you getting smooth, consistent pattern transfer without visible lines and imperfections? I'm also going to be selling some prints, so I need the bottom pattern to be almost flawless.
@reflexgaming342 message me on printables and send me a pic of what your part looks like. I will tell you if it looks the same as what i get from mine. You may have a faulty plate but i will try to help you diagnose
@@How2TexanOk, just messaged you
Holy shit man, I'm absolutely blown away, just got my a1 today and during my setup calibrations it was doing the vibration test and the servos were so loud. I legit had the thought that it sort of sounded like a sick baseline. I thought to myself this could be music but i had no idea if you could control the servos independently. But you went and made it reality( with one of my favorite games and their best song too!) You are awesome man, completely made my day!
@Radman560 thanks so much. But i can't take all the credit. Bambu setup the software for producing the gcode from midi and someone else produced the midi for sea shanty. All i did was pair it down so that could be played on 3 servos. And it is a great game and it is their best song :)
How do you get the first layers perfect
@bigboldspiders8321 the machine does it automatically. If you are having issues with your bambu then there are a few things to check. Make sure your bed is sitting flat and nothing is under it. If you are still having issues you may need manually tram your bed. Bambu has a good guide on this. If you still have problems you may need to open a support ticket. Hope this helps
@@How2Texan thanks for the help
@bigboldspiders8321 no problem. Happy to help
Thank you for your video helped me a lot… I also have a question is OK to go in Ludacris speed all the time or is it bad? I know it reduces print quality, but will it also break the a1? Thank you ❤
@PRD_Productions thank you forntlyour compliment. That is a good question. I do not know anyone who does ludicrous speed all time. That said i think we can make a few assumptions. First i do not think it will break the machine otherwise bambu would not have included it as an option. If they thought it would break the machine then including it would have set them up for allot of warranty problems. The second thing we can assume is that like any tool or machine using it at its maximum capability will cause it to wear down exponentially faster. This means you may have to do maintenance more often and replace parts much sooner. You may even wear out motors much more rapidly. I personally only increase the speed once in a while when i am on a time crunch. Hope this answer is helpful. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already

@dmoimenta lol...its hard to find good free royalty free music. Plus everyone has their own idea of whst good music is. Thanks for the input 👍
Nice, I love it!!!!
That ball bounces like it’s deflated
@itzhammer1432 It's been a long time since i messed with a real basketball. Even so, i did have the feeling it wasn't bouncing quite as well as the real thing. That said, it was bouncing pretty good, and perhaps more importantly, it was not breaking apart.
Undoable. HDMI cables are machine made, they are nearly impossible to hand-make with good result.
@perm.jensen7722 but i did it 😀 see the follow up short
if you fix something for long enough, you will inevitably break it!
@aboliveazbolive i like that... i might need to start using that phrase.
I’m not an electrician but this seems like meth is involved
@AydenDonley no meth...but a whole lot of ego that has recently been humbled
When I was in the service, one of the regular repair jobs was soldering amphenol connectors onto the end of 25 pair 20 gauge cable. For the longest time I wanted a kit that ran a ground lead for each conductor, with a bulb on each end, set up so that the only way that the bulbs would come on was if the correct wire was soldered to the correct pin. The only problem was that all too often you were replacing both ends. Soldiers in the field had a propensity for yanking both ends enough that just under half of the wires broke on both ends, and the stress was enough that it was likely that one broke in the middle too. And those cables, connected multiplexing vans to phone switching vans. The less difficult repairs were the BNC cable end replacements that connected the multiplexing vans to the radio vans. Those were almost always coax, not bi-ax. But there was some of that too.
@RNMSC wow...that makes my repair seem like a walk in the park lol
I recall getting half a DB25 serial cable backwards
Someone who understands my pain 😄
ouch!!
Pointless and unnecessary just buy shorter cable 🤦🏽♂️
@lehrbl_1 this wasn't just an hdmi cable. This was one of those desk grommets with mulitple cables built into it. They only come so small for obvious reasons. It was still pointless though because it was working just fine with the long cable bundle. I did not give up though.
I also was about to solder a cable like that so I could have it as my databus/power for my raspberry pi or esp32 but I thought okay not worth the time writing an driver and especially the soldering. And the power transfer I don’t want to build a base station for it 😅
@felixg2062 smart. I should have stopped when i wad ahead lol
Do you think it is worth to buy Bambu X1C Combo Today? I never had a Bambu before. I have only Prusa printers but they're MK3S+. I want to try Bambu but I also want it to be fully featured. I don't think I need the X1E version but X1C is appealing to me. So would it be a good choice or would you suggest me to check maybe Prusa MK4+ or anything else?
@kaanaslan_tr so i have had printers from many brands. Some that are new some old and some that dont exist anymore. Bambu is the new kid on the block while prusa is the OG of reliabilty. I don't own an mk3 or mk4 but i do have a prusa xl 5 tool head machine. This was an expensive machine as i am sure you are aware. So far, i am not exactly loving my prusa xl. Dont get me wrong, every printwr has problems now and again. Every brand also produces a lemon once and a whole so maybe i have a lemon. But my experience to date says that bambu is the way to go. If i were in your shoes, i wouldn't even think twice about it. My bambu printers have been the fastest, easiest, and most reliable printers i have ever used. Even the bambu studio slicer is in my opinion so much easier and more intuitive than prusa slicer which is weired because bambu studio was forked from prusa slicer. Also, other than the prusa xl, prusa has failed to make a reliable multi color system. I have never used prusa's mmu but if i look at reviews online most people are not happy with it. If you are really nervous about switch brands then buy an bambu a1 mini just to test the water. I think once you see the mini in action you will know whether the x1c right for you.
That looks intense. Can't wait to see something made with this!
@@DiegoAtravesar same :)

I got a 2nd build plate so I can just take the fresh print off and set it aside to cool and start printing again. Less tempted to pre-maturely detach and ruin your fresh print that way.
@MrMcbear so true...i do the same
Why are you doing that if I may ask?
That spool of filament is bad. It has blobs and debris that have ruined 4 attempts to print. So i decided to turn it into pellets that i will try to melt into something else later.
@@How2Texan sounds smart! I didn't know you could get bad spools. I usually buy from sunlu and it's been awesome. I used to buy Bambu but the replaceble spools sometimes dont hold the spool very straight and I dont think its good for the ams so I just buy sunlu now. Awesome idea to make it into pallets and re use the not usable spool! :)
@AA-xm7rt yeh...it doesn't happen very often...i have used over hundreds of spools from more than 50 brands and i have only had a few problems...this is the only spool i have gotten with bulges in the filament so bad that they wouldn't even go through the bowden tube. The peletizer was designed by teaching tech and the models are available. I built it to grind up small chunks of filament at the end of spools. I am going to try using them for casting or maybe injection molding
@@How2Texan sounds like a plan! I still very new to 3d Printing so first I have to get started designing things myself. I've spend a few months printing with different Materials and building a huge grid and honeycomb wall but anyways good to hear that it was only this 1 roll out many! Maybe sometime in the future this would be a cool project for me to. i"ll sub to you :)
@AA-xm7rt thanks...i appreciate the sub and glad youblike the content. Please feel free to reach out if you have 3d printing questions
What settings are you using ?
@normalgamer2420 just the stock default .2 layer settings...no ajustment. Are you having problems?
@@How2Texan I have problems sir
@@KemalDegirmencioglu what problems?
My a1 mini has the bed leveling off and I did the bed leveling a few times
@Pilotbro11 if your sure it is a bed Leveling problem and the automatic Leveling is not fixing it then you need to look up how to "manually tram" your a1 mini bed. Bambu has a good guide. Essentially your bed may be to far out of alignment to be corrected with auto bed Leveling. Tramming your bed should fix this. Before you tram double check that your buildplate is sitting correctly and there isn't anything under the build plate.
Thanks!

maybe a brim?
@JasonEdelman66 its hard to see, but the support did have a brim. Thanks for the suggestion
"Over 9000! That's got to be some kind of mistake, it's a malfunction!"

What is that?
Filament clips. All 10,000 are backed with 2 sided take so that they can be stuck to the inside of a spool and hold the end of the filament to prevent tangling
