It's a clever, elegant system. I like it quite a bit. I have several other games vying for my attention at the moment, but I will get to it in time. It strikes me as a great game for teaching new players. I know some people will think the focus on the Maze and little else to be a positive, but I personally like to explore the other parts of my character's life.

I still don't get this after watching three videos on it.

This is great! I just played this, first time trying a solo RPG, and it helps to see someone else play. I ended up writing a day by day journal from the first person narrative of a character with other characters and a boss I was reporting back to. I struggled to figure out how much context to add to each card draw and ended up taking WAY longer than the book's suggested play time, but I really enjoyed the experience. Your reading makes me want to leave an audio journal instead of pencil and paper next time! Seems quicker and your dramatic reading seems fun to emulate! Thank you!

Your expressive reading actually made listening to a journaling game interesting. I'm still looking for a way to solo actual horror in a way that horrifies me as I play.

I like that Fabula Ultima is basically Latin for Final Fantasy (with a little creative translation--it literally translates to "last story").

If you learn Mazes you know the resolution for all 9th Level Games. So KAMB, Business Wizards, The Dark Tower, Pidgeons 11, Rebel Scum...

So no pre-made adventure module(s) necessary? The book has everything the players need to create a campaign?

Like the video. Mazes is great, I would also suggest Kobolds Ate my Baby, Business Wizards, Pigeons 11 and Rebel Scum. They all run on the same engine.

It is a system that has its charm and I played it thouroghly with my group. But at its core it is a kind of a flawed system if you not heavily homebrew on your own. Especially regarding the usage of Stars.

This seems like it could be used as a supplement for Dolmenwood, or even Pendragon, by Chaosium. You could take a number of these ideas and insert them into another game system, then have the Princess be a character class.

I’ve actually been looking for this exact kind of content without really going to look for it. Sometimes the algorithm works. I’ve recently been able to experience a Call of Cthulhu and a Vaessen game, when previously I’ve been playing D&D or Pathfinder. I like that you briefly described what you liked about each without droning on like some people might. Thanks!
