But what I find most astonishing… is how much we can despise our family yet give them more rights than our friends; how much we scrutinize our wrong choices yet change nothing; how much we look for the stillness of the night, yet never feel as hopeful as we do in the mornings.
Interesting , All of Mani kaul's work were adaptations ! .
Lot more realistic acting in Achyut kanya ruclips.net/video/HpXvkt9XX0g/видео.html
More boring than ashadh ka ek din !! its just same weird camera angels , moving in and out of focus , people talking in weird monotones ! Wish someone could tell kaul at that time he sucked !
This is just unwatchable ! In the craze of parallel cinema in 70s , lot of crap was shoved down our throat in the name of "Art" !
Extraordinary. Toxic.
So good to hear Shaw's words come to life. This is brilliant.
They are enunciating like classic Sharkespeare... too sharp and quick
I just now found this. Thank you so much for posting such a riveting play with outstanding actors. A Master Class on stage.
You did it Ms Badu!!! 🤙💯
Yes, the greatest of this century.
NY Undercover
They are unbelievable talents both of them! Amazing actors, wow😮!!!
An excelent documentary (by Andrey Nekrasov, I believe), thanks for uploading.
And, by the way, wonderful channel!
The episode with "Peter Semyonich the Seducer" sparkled. Fun to watch! Ahh ... human nature. Hasn't changed much in thousands of years😯😉.
I totally understand Milton (Moses Gunn). Yes, he flies off the handle sometimes. Yes, he can't always see the point of view of the youngsters. Yes, he has to make compromises. But ... he's got major (!!) responsibilities and associated anxieties. The others have to walk in his shoes to understand what that really means--to their OWN livelihood, no less. (Why is it that those who carry the most burdens get the least understanding, let alone sympathy??) Terrific play! (Thanks for this.)
Good Lord. What a lot of distinctive voices in one play! I can close my eyes and just listen. Fab-u-lous. (Your collection of plays is first rate.)
Holy mackerel! Very 70s ... with some great scenes, esp between Tyson and Wyatt. (In today's PC, censored, woken world, this play would not even get past the "idea scribbled on a cocktail napkin" stage!)
He's good in this role ...but she's stunning, a real natural! Not a false move.
Holy Toledo! What a lot of universal truths in this family drama! Sometimes tough to watch as it hits home and Mary Alice's Alberta is quiet desperation itself. (Everyone loves to pull out the "honor your mother and father" scripture. But ... does anybody ever remember the admonishment that follows: "And parents, do not provoke your children"? No. Not ever 😯🤷🏻♀️.) Thanks for a drama I won't soon forget.
Joseph cotton and Paul Schofield going head to head! Masterclass!

Lee remick is a revelation, god bless her.
I have watched this production 4 times and Claire’s monologue always gets to me.
I loved watching these Broadway Theatre Archive programs. Do you have "Monkey Monkey Bottle of Beer" too. That's a great one
No, but I’ll keep my eye out for it. Thanks! ❤
Thank you! I recently saw the movie, "The Tiger Makes Out" with Eli Wallach and Ann Jackson, and their chemistry, energy and humor on screen is nothing short of fabulous! There are similar motifs in both works which makes it super enjoyable to watch, and Murray Schisgal's insight into the human condition is all too typical to ignore. Many decades later, although many people work remotely, people are met with the same life challenges. Until humanity evolves to the point where individuals have more self awareness, this piece will be as perennial as the stars. Great work!
This a very demeaning stereotypical movie...Black people calling each other niggers, judging each other, angry fighting and oppressed not knowing if ever they will come out of the struggle and oppression..... teach your children to respect and not judge their elders...it was much harder for single black women and men in 1920s 1930s ect.... please teach your children not to devalue each other by calling each other niggers....lift each other up there is strength in numbers a house divided is a weak confused foolish fear ridden home.....God is not a God of hate anger or confusion and know the attacks of the devil ...instead of screaming at each talk listen have compassion love patience and tolerence....this an old negro coon ass, foolish movie... "OH what we gonna do" movie I did not find it entertaining it was sad and insulting to people of color
I think this is just the first act or maybe they cut scenes for filming? Things like this are a great resource. It’s so rarely done anymore.
Shaw's excellent play brilliantly performed.
It was some shitttttt! You must not betray your people!❤❤❤
Brilliant.
I would love to see the original with Eric Porter and Maggie smith, though not sure if the BBC preserved it for posterity.
Amazing acting ,what what is this about ? Too many words ……..
I saw this when it came out. Nice to see it on stage, having grown up with the radio production. Fiennes's physicality is electric. Though the actress playing Annie made some strange acting choices, randomly shouting 10% of her lines to Jack somewhat detracted from an otherwise charming performance.
Which Movie is this?
"Long Day's Journey Into Night' (1962, Sidney Lumet) based on the play by Eugene O'Neill
Love that
Mmmmm. 75 & Have loved Shaw since high school & have never seen M&S. INDIRA as Ann !?!? <3
So Brilliant !
Way ahead of his time
Dang! Granny was passing the booty around like it was bible tracks .
The truth told in so many words meaning something I forget but feel is just the way it is if the truth be told
Lee Remick! Damn!
THIS is an American experience that should be taught and admired.
Prayer works
LOU MEYERS.... It's so good to see you in earlier roles. My first time seeing this. I pray that you're resting well and in peace sir.
I think Lou may have played a little bit for the other team.....
@@jeanettesdaughter He's clearly gay. What straight man throws up after kissing a woman?
Spectacular indeed 🎉 Love it from start to finish 👏 ❤
I never seen young prokofiev before
I couldn't hold back the tears any longer. Our eyes are open now to the real truth. In reality this helped me get over what was beaten into our ancestors bodies. The great awakening was an easy transition. I now know my creator lives and abide in me. Now I'm really free indeed.❤😂❤😂❤😂❤😂❤
