It wasn't bad in S6 & S7 under Alfonso Mereno. It went bad with John Tinker in S8 & S9 That's why demo numbers were bad in S9 & Hallmark had to fix it. They hired showrunner Lindsay & brought back Alfonso as Consultant in S10 & S11. LS +AM did well fixing the show, WCTH in S10 & S11.

I agree with everything but having Lucas leave Hope Valley. We would miss his interaction with everyone on the show.

​@@lindajanke6194There would still be visits. Lucas to HV. Nathan & Elizabeth + maybe their kids with them to CC. Also, with a redemption storyline for Lucas even if Nathan & Elizabeth marry and Nathan becomes Jack Jr.'s adoptive "dad" Lucas can remain a "buddy" to Jack Jr. Lucas did still call Jack Jr. "buddy" in the Easter episode when Jack was going to join the other kids in the easter egg hunt. I think two shows with a connection can happen respectfully for both TN and TL.

​​​@@lindajanke6194I did read and listen to an interview that Lindsay is building a Capital City set. Why would they bother if they were just going to have Lucas come back to HV? So, I think Lucas will be working & living in CC a lot in S12 of WCTH. So who knows they might do a WCTH spin off in CC might not. BB and Alfonso are bringing back their 1st spin off show from When Calls the Heart ❤ called "When Hope Calls." So a Capital City spin off is not impossible.

Then Rosemary work for the newspaper in CC. Also, I'm sure Bill will end up in Capital City sometimes too.

Lucas wasn't more suitable if he was hiding his past from Elizabeth a woman he was engaged to & he kept his shady past hidden from her. If he has changed he should have told Elizabeth all about his past, but it looks like Lucas would have married her without coming clean if Elizabeth hadn't broken up with him in S10 because she wanted to stay in HV and was in love with Nathan. I actually thought Lucas mysterious past he was hiding would catch up to him. Alfonso did create Lucas this way. Both Lucas and Nathan were created by Alfonso. So, Lindsay did not come up with Lucas having a shady past on her own. 😂 Alfonso created Lucas that way. I knew those #MountieInstincts would come back to be right about Lucas. This show is about mounties & their work all S1-S11. 😂 😊 I like both Kevin as Constable Nathan Grant & Chris as Lucas as the mysterious shady man that came to town a gambler, player, and competitor. Now Lucas is a former saloon owner/businessman and now governor. I can't wait to see what else Rosemary and Randall find out about Lucas past. This makes Chris' character Lucas Bouchard more interesting to me! I think Lucas will get a redemption story! Lucas will be a successful governor. Eventually Lucas will get a new girlfriend in CC. Lucas is still the third main character. Henry had a redemption story for his past. We all love Henry now. Same thing will happen with Lucas too. So, then hearties will love Lucas after his redemption story too. Henry will end up being Lucas' best friend because of similar people who can relate to each other both having bad pasts & getting redemption storylines. Just like Nathan's best friend is Bill because of their similar background Bill being a retired mountie & Nathan the current Constable of HV working for the mounties. ❤ I actually really like Chris McNally as Lucas Bouchard. I just never thought Lucas was made for Elizabeth in the long term. I knew that relationship wouldn't last. I knew Nathan was made for Elizabeth.

Plus S6-S11 was about Elizabeth and Nathan's relationship a mountie/teacher relationship it went from acquaintances to friendship to a spark & connection to love. Nathan telling her he was in love with her in S8. Elizabeth being in love with Nathan too but afraid to be with him another great love. Elizabeth let fear get in the way. So, in S8 Elizabeth rejected Nathan romantically because she was to afraid & settled for a safe relationship later a safe love to protect herself. Even S9 & S10 was about the mountie/teacher relationship Nathan & Elizabeth's solid, strong friendship & connection + love they were building. Then Elizabeth broke up with Lucas at end of S10. Then the relationship between Nathan & Elizabeth transitioned from a solid, strong friendship & connection + love to a solid, strong romance and deep true love. ❤ S1-S11 was always about a mountie/teacher relationship. First Jack & Elizabeth's relationship in S1-S5 & then Nathan & Elizabeth's relationship in S6-S11 going from acquaintances to friendship to being in love, but Elizabeth rejected it being afraid. To friendship in S9 & S10. To friendship transitioning to romance & a deep true love in S11. ❤ Again I love both Chris McNally as Lucas Bouchard and Kevin McGarry as Constable Nathan Grant. I can't wait to see more about both men & their futures. Nathan with Elizabeth + their kids. Lucas eventually with a new girlfriend who I hope becomes his great, true love in CC. A beautiful, sassy city woman who will challenge Lucas in a good way & knows all about Lucas' past. Lucas keeps no more secrets about a shady past from a new love interest like he did to Elizabeth.

Lucas after he gets a redemption story & he is forgiven for his past can eventually be friends with Elizabeth & Nathan after some healing. Then Lucas can remain Jack Jr's "buddy" another male figure in Jack Jr's life even if I'm going to stand in faith and say when Nathan & Elizabeth marry & Nathan adopted Jack Jr. becoming Jack Jr's adoptive "dad" 😊❤ I believe Lucas will marry a new woman too and get a family of his own one day! 😊❤

Why did you say Lucas was more suitable because he was rich & came across as sophisticated 😂 Elizabeth left that wealthy Hamilton lifestyle behind. Elizabeth rejected her wealthy lifestyle for a higher purpose. Elizabeth finished college & came to Coal Valley to teach. Elizabeth is a county woman now working in a one room school house. Also Nathan is very intelligent too. Mounties do go through a lot of training as lawmen. Nathan is interested in books too! Lucas didn't have a monolopy on that! 😂 Nathan asked Elizabeth about her original book in S6 before Lucss asked Elizabeth about books. The book Elizabeth wrote as Elizabeth Thatcher. That was when we got the line, "What's in your heart?" Nathan said that to Elizabeth after they were discussing the book. We also saw Nathan in the library plenty. We saw Nathan reading at Elizabeth's house when he stayed with Allie after her babysitting situation losing Jack Jr & Nathan finding himself staying to comfort his daughter and she fell asleep on the couch next to him. So, Nathan stayed in case Jack Jr would wake up since Allie fell asleep. To be there for him too until Elizabeth got home. So Nathan reads plenty of books. Lucas definitely doesn't have a monolopy on intelligence. I mean whose idea do you think it was to be there when Elizabeth talked to Higgins? I'm sure that was Nathan not letting Elizabeth confront Higgins alone. He was going to be there as the lawman! I'm sure it was Nathan's idea to let his "boss" Lucas know what's going on too. So Higgins couldn't try to twist things. I mean investigations & criminal cases can be complicated sometimes. Lawmen have to be intelligent. It's not all just muscle being strong 💪 to take down bad guys physically, but lawmen, mounties do that sometimes too! I know first hand the intelligence of many cops. My dad's childhood best friend became a cop & later a detective. I know the intelligence lawmen have to have working criminal cases that can be very complicated. It's not just a physical job being strong 💪 taking down the bad guys. Constable Grant is a very intelligent man. I mean look at retired mountie Bill he is now judge these lawmen work cases and know the law inside out. So, that is why it was an easy transition for Bill to go from retired mountie to a Judge because of his intelligence especially with the laws written in 1920 in the fictional place of HV, Canada.

Plus we saw Nathan compliment Elizabeth on her work her new book she was working on in both S8 & S9. So, what Elizabeth does matters to Nathan. But Nathan knows teaching in HV to her students was more important to Elizabeth. That's why Nathan as a friend confronted Elizabeth at the church/school house asking Elizabeth, "What do you want?" In his heart Nathan knew what mattered to Elizabeth most was raising Jack Jr in HV as just the night before Elizabeth told Nathan just that and teaching her students in HV. 📚
