Good 👍😊 old t i😂
So good! So, so good.
Album is now 45 years old and New Aus Truckie track is still a gem .I’m sorry didn’t get to see Bluey .He never toured to far southern Victoria
Nowadays he'd get "cancelled" by the unwashed mob.
Old 6701 ❤️👍🏼
Stan Wood was a very under rated Country Singer back in the 80's, a Butcher in Casino NSW, I bought one of his records at a Concert after hearing him at Lismore. He and his band had a great sound and sang about the region in which he lived. Songs like the Mallanganee Rodeo and Follow on down the River which was about the Bullock Teams that used to bring timber down from the Casino and Lismore region down to the Clarence River at Lawrence that was an early shipping port. I have the record somewhere in a box, he had some great songs in that album.
Thanks for the additional information, and yes a singer who never gained the recognition he deserved.
Sweet music...
RIP Champion old man/ Elder
RIP champion Elder
Please more of Kevin, legend
I'll post some more later, thanks.
As Beautiful as ever.

I have this 45 record, bought it in the late 60's, I play guitar same pick strum style, I will have to learn to play and sing it.I could sing it once but the years have got away . Australia 🇦🇺
And yes the years get away from us!
Lyrics Now friends, just listen to a story for you, When I left my home one day, I longed for the bright lights and faces, But I wasn't content to stay. The evening breeze brought back memories to me, Of the place I left behind, Of the city of trees where I long to be, Forever on my mind. I've lived a roaming life that's free, I've been most everywhere, Of all the towns I've ever seen, Grafton beyond compare. I long for Grafton the city of trees, Where the Clarence River flows, Where the palm trees sway in the cool evening breeze, And the jacarandas grow. Now, pal, if you're feeling all run down, Just pack up your worries, it's a thing to do, And visit this lovely town. I've lived a roaming life that's free, I've been most everywhere, Of all the towns I've ever seen, Grafton beyond compare.
One of the best! Australia 🇦🇺
Any chance you have Sunday Morning Coming Down by Lee Kernaghan?
This was a great era in Australian Country Music and I still possess lots if Australian CM records.
Yes it sure was.
Great version of a great song!
Very powerful song. Not Tex's best recording but one of his greatest songs that he wrote. The symbolism that these young men are still their mums' babies in their Mums' hearts and that they are loved ones. I love how while Tex is opposed to war he honours the soldiers out of respect. Shows a very intelligent and broad minded man.
What a beautiful voice! 😍
I only saw her perform live once, she was just as good singing live as on her records. Sadly was was killed years ago in a car crash.
@@outbackhighways4596 😔 oh no. Was definitely a talented woman artist. Thanks for sharing.
Lyrics How the times do fly and the years roll by, Since we sailed from our loved ones and home, On a great troop ship, up to fight the nips, Now our flag flies where once flew their own. How I've often thought of the battles fought, And my mates buried there all alone, Of the words my mate said, before a jap shot him dead: "Take me back to the blue hills of home." Ah, the blue hills of home. Oh, the horrors of war make my heart feel sore, It was hard on the old folks, you know. We can thank my man dad for such brave Aussie lads Who defended the blue hills of home. What a price to pay for the japs cruel ways, It's no wonder our hearts turned to stone. They say to forget, but I can’t forget yet, How we fought for the blue hills of home.

It was not written by Buddy (who BTW was a family friend); it was written by Keith Baldwin, who lived in Inverell & wrote many beautiful. songs, none of which were recorded, except this one, by Buddy, who changed its title & wording from "Christmas time in TINGHA (just outside Inverell) to Christmas time in TAMWORTH, as it was not an obscure a place as Tingha. It should be recognised as one of the great Australian Christmas carols -- maybe it awaits the right voice for re-recording!
Thanks for the update, the description has been changed. My mother was born in Bingara, her side of the family had a lot of relatives in the Warialda district.

Shermin Marshal wrote a great song and the legend Gordon Parsons sings it the best. Oops did I make a mistake I thought Shermin Marshal wrote this tune but the banner says Jim Kiley wrote it. My appologies to Jim Kiley.
Brian was a family friend.
