do you have a Midi cable m-audio like mine?

@@igorecord no i have a similar cable by DoReMidi (most common one fron ebay). It works fine for external control with keyboard and webmidi apps. Is there a setting under "Utility>MIDI" that I need to change for dumping data?

I had a similar problem with some old projects that I saved using the qu data filer. But when I found out about the way to save to my smartphone, I save and upload all new projects without any problems. Have you tried to make and save a new project on your smartphone?

@@igorecord I'm thinking that the cable might be the problem. The semi-random file sizes dumping from the same pattern seems to indicate possible transmission problem. I'm ordering one like yours to test with. Hopefully that fixes. I'm also going to test with 'amidi' in linux and see if I can get a clean dump on my linux workstation. As soon as I know more I'll post an update in case others run into this issue.

@@illiterate467 One smart person told me that M- audio usb-midi cable is the best for transmitting data to Yamaha QY. I hope you succeed.

@igorecord which is the better gadget? I remember these boxes in the music shop but I turned my nose up at them as they seemed like little GM modules. I had a sampler and an atari at that time.

Thank you! I have a question for you, if you wanted to publish tracks written on QY70/100 , how would you record them? Should you record each track separately and then mix, or is it enough to record the mix as one, through a minijack?

@@igorecord That's a great question. I love the sound of these tracks on your channel, which I'm assuming is just you recording the single output of the QY70? I also tend to just record a single mix, even with something like the Digitakt which would allow me to capture the tracks individually. I will generally do some EQ once the audio is in my daw though. iZotope has a great auto-mastering plugin that might be worth looking into? But again, I think these already sound amazing.

If you ever rented that "Top Gun" VHS after 50 people watched it before you, you'll understand that detuned synth strings were quite ubiquitous in the 80s ;-) It's an ironic reference, just like so-called "synthwave videos" often feature a striped sun because artists born after the 80s fail to understand that windows blinds were considered _the_ thing to have in the 80s, so artists drew the sun behind window blinds, hence, stripey.

People will endlessly try to justify it by mentioning faulty tape decks or in the previous case bad vhs tapes, but they fail to realize that my comment says nothing about faulty gear or worn copies. My comment speaks to the mainsteam of music where that was considered weird. People avoided this effect because it made consumers think their equipment was busted.

Some buttons did not respond well to pressing, I restored them with a regular soft pencil. The point is that graphite conducts electricity. it is necessary to apply graphite to the contact pad of the button. And the case is of course necessary for this device!
