Magic ring. R1. Ch 2 for 1st dch. 8 Dch in ring. Total 9 dch round 1. Slst to join. R2. Ch 2 + dch1 into same st. 2 dch in each of the stitches around. Total 18 sts in round 2. Slst to join R3. Ch2, + dch1 into same st, *1 dch in next st. 2 dch in next st. * rep *-*around . 1 dch in last st. Total 27 sts in round 3. Slst to join. R4. Ch1 . Pull up a loop in 1st, 2nd and 3rd sts. Then pull yarn through all 4 loops on hook. Ch1. Pull up a loop in 3rd, 4th and 5th sts. Then pull yarn through all 4 loops on hook. Repeating the process, You will advance along this round by two sts each time. Making 13 "trinities" altogether for round 4. , sl st to join. Repeat round 4 to the length you need for your foot. Then follow the video to make the opening and heel.

The pattern doesn’t work. It decreases the stitches with each row….. I’m fairly new to crochet and can’t work out how to correct it , very frustrating.

I like no distracting talk. They are showing you exactly what to do.

According to your notes, the 2nd row finished with 16 dc. So how dose, as the few notes you offer say, the 3rd row finish with 27dc when the pattern for the 3rd row is, including the chain 3 as a double crochet, (don't know why it's a chain 3 rather than a chain 2 for double crochet) but the pattern is a repeat of 2dc in the first space and 1dc in the following space? That's only 24dc in 16 spaces aavailable from the 2nd row to finish the 3rd row.

I used the same yarn and the same hook size , but after those 11 rounds with the pattern i have 12 cm , not 16 cm like you .
