Would you recommend UF to future pre meds?? I keep seeing posts on reddit about how insanely competitive it is and how the classes there are made to be a lot harder than other universities in Florida? I know there’s a lot of prestige and research opportunity at UF but do you feel like going there has sacrificed your mental or physical health at all? Thanks so much!! And best of luck to you :)
Hi, thank you for watching and asking your question. I know people who didn’t do well in a class at UF, and had an easier time understanding the course material at a different institution. I’ve also struggled in some of my classes, and the difficulty can affect your mental health. I advise you to use all the resources you can to help you do well in your courses. Make study groups, stay on top of assignments and lessons, and have accountability partners so that you stay on track. Don’t try to do it all by yourself. It’s an unnecessary burden that you don’t have to carry. When you do understand the material, it helps to prepare you for future classes and exams needed for medical school. I hope this helps. God bless. And thank you for your encouragement :)
This is really cool, I dream of going there one day. Any tips?
Hi! Here are some tips: Review the deadlines and pace yourself so that your application is not late. Keep track of all the materials needed for your application. I know people who got denied because they forgot to submit their official test scores or something else. Take challenging courses that your school offers (and do well) Do activities that are meaningful to you and adds value to your life. Journal your experience throughout the years. It will make it easier to write about them in your college application. Do your research on the university and ask yourself, why “UF.” (Write it down). I hope this helps. God bless :)

I just found your channel! It’s awesome! You have been blessed by God, I’m so glad you’re using your gifts for Him. Also, UF is where I was thinking about going! Are there good opportunities for Christians? I’ve been concerned about the secular nature of that school.
Hi Kayla! Thank you so much for your encouraging words and supporting my channel. There are many Christian organizations and opportunities to serve God here in Gainesville. Some orgs are Chi Alpha (Christ Ambassadors), CRU, and Greenhouse College. I’m involved with Greenhouse College, and we host services on Sunday nights on UF’s campus. There are other organizations/churches that also meet on campus or near, by such as Salt and Baptist Collegiate ministries.
@@vanessawilfrose of course! That is really great to know!!! If you’re willing, I do have another question: how bad is the enforcement of big bang/Darwinism on the biology/general science classes? Biology is going to be my major! So in just curious what to expect! I appreciate your answers!
@@kaylaa.6861So I took Bio 1 and 2 in 2019, so things may potentially change. The Big Bang theory wasn’t really a topic discussed in biology from what I recall, and Darwinism is taught, but it’s the same ideas taught in public grade school. To get a better idea of what is taught, you can search up BSC2010 uf syllabus to see potential topics being taught currently. I hope this helps :)

Hey, quick question: is the bedroom only just two beds right next to each other and how many people did you have to share a bathroom with? Is this the same for the boys dorms or it is different?
Hi, There are two beds per room, and you can rearrange them or bunk the beds as well. Also, you will share the bathroom with three other people. If you so happen to be placed in the RA unit, then you will share the bathroom with two other people. Beaty Towers is a Co-Ed dorm, so the layout is the same for men and women units within Beaty Towers. Hope this helps and good luck in college!
So true
My question is how long do I have to wait school starts in like 2 weeks
Your financial aid department should have an estimate on when you should receive your refund check
What was your secret for getting into Keys initially? Was there a minimum amount of credits you needed, or, did you just get on the housing site as soon as possible to check? If you could give me any tips to get in I'd love that, thanks! (For context, I am a sophomore now but I am applying for the dorm as an incoming Junior)
Hi, The housing system works on a credit system, so upperclassmen by credit get to choose first, then underclassmen. When it comes to incoming freshmen, housing is a first come basis based on when you apply for on-campus housing.
The earlier you log in to the housing website when it’s time to choose, the better

hi! can i ask how you were able to get this opportunity? ive been having trouble shadowing physicians in general because they decline due to not having insurance to have students shadow them. super cool video by the way!
Hi! Thank you for watching! I got this opportunity through a friend I met at church. She is a part of the UF chapter of Global Medical Missions Alliance. She connected me to her mentor, a CT surgeon and he offered me the opportunity to shadow Him, teaching me how he combines his faith with medicine. I give God all the credit for this opportunity. Try to see if there is a GMMA chapter at your school, or near by. GMMA also has a website, so check it out. I also recommend to ask God to open a door for you, I can pray for you too. I hope this helps :)
I just wanna say hang in there XD vascular surgeons have it tough

I didn’t even know you’re gonna be a surgeon, lol, that’s amazing, I gotta show my law school stuff
Thank you! I am currently shadowing a CT surgeon as a pre-med student. I wasn't seriously considering surgery until now. It's life-changing. Please, share your law school stuff! It will inspire many people. Good luck with it!
“16 For God so LOVED the WORLD that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to SAVE the WORLD through Him.” John 3:16-17 NIV How does this scripture apply to patient-care? It’s simple really: View and treat patients the way God loves and values them. The price of our sins are so costly (Psalm 49:7-9), that the only one who can pay it in full, and who has paid it, is Jesus (Mark 10:45). See, we have all sinned, and it is sin that separates us from God. It’s impossible for us to pay that debt, so God, who loves and values every person reading this right now, sent Jesus, His son, to earth to suffer and die for our sake. Through His sacrifice, God made a way for sin to no longer keep us from having an eternal relationship with Him. The way is called Jesus Christ. Every single person is loved and valued in God’s eyes, because while we STILL sinned, Christ CHOSE to die for us (Romans 5: 6-11). It is through those same lens we should value and love each patient, allowing us to treat them with the utmost care. This translates into all aspects of life: lawyers with clients, teachers with students, human to human. Takeaway: Love and value yourself and others the way that God loves and values you and every human being. Prayer: “Heavenly Father, help me to see ______ through your lens, so that I can love, value, and care for them the way you have called me to. In Jesus name, Amen.” How will you apply this scripture into your life? More readings: Ephesians 2
I'm so proud of you ❤️

Hello, Thank you so much for this video! I was just wondering if there anyone ever had an issue between roommates about who gets which desk? I really would hate having the desk in the common area, but I am worried that would cause a problem. I was just curious if this was ever an issue.
Hi, so typically, whoever moves in to the room first, chooses first which desk they want to designate as theirs. Then the roommate who comes after, is defaulted to the common desk area. You could also reach out to your roommate and say that you prefer the desk in the room.
Hey! How difficult would you say it has been to find research, volunteering, and internship opportunities there at UF outside of school? I really want to go to UF, but am leaning towards USF only because there are most hospitals and stuff since it’s in Tampa instead of Gainsville lol. What has your experience been?
Hi Alex, Thanks for watching! I answered your questions in my other video’s comment section.
Hey! How hard has it been to find research, volunteering, and internship opportunities outside of school at UF? I really want to go there for pre-med, but the competitiveness and lack of hospitals near the campus is pushing me to maybe pick another school. What has your experience been like?
Hi Alex, Because Gainesville is a college town/city, there are a lot of opportunities here at UF. I’ve been able to do research at two different labs through either my professor, or the Center of Undergraduate Research, a resource for students to guide and help find research in Gainesville/UF. There are many professors looking for students they can train, and freshmen are great because you can stay longer to work on the project. You can also start your own research project, join research programs, and even present at semesterly research showcases. There are 3 hospitals near UF: Shands, Veterans Hospital, & North Regional Hospital. There are also clinics, and many pre-med/ health programs for UF Students that will help you prepare for med school, as well as connect you with physicians/health care providers.
Some programs you can look into is Medi-Gators, Alpha Epsilon Delta, Footprint, university scholars program, streetlight, and mobile clinic. There is also a minor here called Health Disparities. I had completed this minor, and within this program, you have to do an internship/practicum where you work for a health program in Gainesville, or even outside of Gainesville with permission from the professor, for at least a semester. It is a wonderful opportunity. I got to do a 7 month internship at Gainesville Fire Rescue Community Resource Paramedic Program.

Is it hard to get into this building as a freshman?
Yes, but possible. Choosing dorms is based on how many credits you have, so upperclassmen choose first, then lowerclassmen, then admitted students.
i’ve visited campus multiple times and i still feel like i’ve only seen a fraction of it😭
And they are constantly expanding it 😅
Wow do you ever get lost? Also have u been everywhere?
When I first moved to Campus, yes. Eventually, you get to know the campus by heart. I’ve been almost everywhere on campus, and UF has other locations outside the main campus

2022 - Year of blessings, removal & renewal. In the darkness, through the pain & isolation, God was always there. I now know that the hardships I went through this year was for my character development. Without the pain I’ve experienced, I wouldn’t be who I am today. I am not the same person that entered the year of 2022, for I have found my true identity within Christ. He has turned my pain into strength, and blessed me in so many ways. From graduating from a top 5 public university, traveling internationally for the first time & experiencing different cultures, thriving in my fitness & nutrition journey, providing me with purpose and energy, making unforgettable memories & meaningful friendships, and so much more, he has blessed me with the things I’ve dreamed of. He has removed me from situations and relationships that did not serve him, so that I may walk in his will and not mine. So that I may lean on his understanding, and not on man’s. I’m still learning, growing, & healing, for life is about seeking progress, not perfection. There’s so much more that I can say, and I have the time to share with y’all the wisdom God has instilled in me. I’m so ready to see how God will continue to transform me and my life in 2023. God bless 🫶🏽
