Our filmmaking team embodies a diverse, global viewpoint shaped by veterans who have served in various corners of the world and civilians who provide valuable additional context. Together, we strive to deliver nuanced stories of real people, highlighting their unique experiences and perspectives. Our expertise spans documentaries, short films, and profiles, brought to life by our accomplished team of directors, cinematographers, editors, animators, and sound designers. Through our work, we spotlight individuals who have left indelible marks on the world, often without the recognition they deserved. Our films invite audiences to look at the veteran experience from the individual viewpoints of those who lived them and sometimes via the impacts of those left behind to mourn their loss. These films by the Veteran Documentary Corps (VDC) are at the heart of our mission.

Aldo Giannini: Pacific Theater
El Dorado Films, in partnership with Veteran Documentary Corps, presents Aldo Giannini: Pacific Theater, directed by John Giannini.
Like many other young men of his generation, after Pearl Harbor was attacked, Aldo Giannini joined the Marines with little idea of what lay ahead. After training, he was quickly deployed overseas and fought in the bloody Battle of Tarawa, surviving with a shrapnel injury and the haunting memory of witnessing the loss of 3,250 U.S. lives. He went on to fight in other battles and returned home after 3 intense years of service. Nearly eight decades later, he still questions if winning the island was worth the price.

Thank you for your extraordinary service! Wonderful documentary! Bless you and may you reach 100!
Yeesh. So much information in this program is WRONG. 1) Bletchley Park is credited with shortening the war by 2 years (Winston Churchill.) Not Turing. There were many geniuses at Bletchley Park. Turing was just 1. 2) There wasn't an "ULTRA program." Ultra was THE product of ALL collected information. It wasn't exclusively from Enigma decripts. It was collected from every source of intel. Captured prisoners, seaborne observations from aircraft and Allied subs. Once collected, it ALL told the story. But there simply wasn't an Ultra Program. 3) The first programmable computer was Colossus. Alan Turing had very little to do with the creation of or the operation of Colossus. Tommy Flowers and Max Neuman are known to be the creators of Colossus. The "drum" machine used to find the initial settings of the Enigma cypher was a "bombe." Turing DID revamp the Polish "bomba" machine to break Enigma settings. The Turing "bombe" didn't use tape to get data. The Heath Robinson and then Colossus used tape to harvest data. Colossus was built to find the initial settings for the highly complex Lowrence teletype cypher. Again. Turing had little to do with Colossus. Turing was working on the far simpler Enigma cypher.
Wonderful story. God bless Jean and her family.
Thank you so much. We are very proud of this film and appreciate this comment. Please share the link to it. Jean's story is historical.
A wonderful story! My father was a ASTRP (US Army Specialized Training Reserve Program) kid till 1944, when at the age of 18 he was switched to the Infantry. He ended up in Germany for the Battle of the Bulge, MIA for 4 days, and later a guard at the Rhine River camps for German disarmed combatants (they were not classified POWs since their country had ceased to exist with Hitler's defeat). He was not sworn to secrecy, but never said a word about his service. When asked directly he had a couple amusing stories, but went to his grave never sharing anything but the bare bones of his life in the Army.
The very last fort attack on the Lakota sioux indian territory! The fort Burford of ND, a surprise attack of December 1868! Three us soldiers were very brutal killed by a large party of hunkpapa Lakota sioux indian warriors! Nearly breaking the Wyoming fort Laramie treaty of 1868. Known as Sittingbull's forgotten war on the northern forts from 1866 to the Lakota sioux indian warriors the continued harassment parties of the early 1870's! My great inspiring message is out again! Have a very impressive beautiful day.😀😊
Thank you for this bit of history. We appreciate it.
He was an f-86 pilot in the Korean War
Beautiful ! A patriot!!
Thank you.
So romantic. Great.zar
Both my mom and dad are here
A good friend was a Montford Point Marine. He has passed on but taught me a lot about life.
Henry is my first cousin, his mother and my father were siblings. He stayed at our home in Los Angeles a few days while he was in the Marines and I was a teen.I was so impressed and still remember him. He was, like my other cousins ,l not well known but admired by me. Morrow family is proud. Dion G Morrow.
Great guy... one of my most favorite interviews. I also enjoyed directing and editing, as that's when you really get to the know the heart of a subject. Amazing Marine, architect and dad.
This lady took no junk off anyone at all. She favores one of my former professors at NCCU and they were similar.
We agree... impressive folk doing good in the world despite the uglieness in the world they lived. Thank you for your comment.
Huge mistake
I just watch this on RT today. Got emotional. From India.
Thank you for the kindness from the staff, the VFW riflemen and chaplain, the Marines in attendance, and of course - the Cape Canaveral Ladies. We just laid our dad, L/Cpl Daniel Tirado, USMC (Ret) to rest there on June 4th. It was a beautiful ceremony and it truly gave home the honors and send off that he deserved. Thank you!
We were particularly moved working with these amazing people at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery. Amazing, dedicated, thoughtful team. Appreciate, too, your comment. Thank you.
Used to care for him. He was a great man. He had many lovely stories.
We very much enjoyed working on these Field Notes. Thank you for replying. We'll be releasing the entire film on Ralph very soon. Please subscribe to the channel (it's free and we don't send marketing stuff). You'll get updates when now videos are uploaded.
Lived just down the block on Sherman Drive. Very interesting. Good luck
Amazing documentary! Thank you for making this and for honoring CPT Jennifer Moreno. She was an amazing person with a kind soul. Her laugh and smile is something you’ll never forget. Jenny, I am honored to have been your friend, fellow SDHS cadet classmate and even serving in the Army together, as I was a Sergeant and Jenny a Lieutenant. She truly was a spectacular, selfless, smart human. Gone but never forgotten, we love and miss you Jenny. 🫡❤️
Many preserved government secrets for decades. I recall my former WWII fighter-pilot and test-pilot dad (RIP, 2016-2015) at an airshow in Palm Springs circa 2000 being approached by a guy who wanted to know if he was the Colonel XXXX who had signed a certain USAF intel document regarding the MiG21 back in 1968. My dad refused to answer the guy -- until the guy produced a copy of the document with a dated "declassified stamp" on it... as well as dad's signature. Turns out the guy was a flight historian who happened to hear my dad was at a reunion there at that time. Dad was having a great time as a one-day docent who knew more -- from hands-on & contemporaneous experience -- about most of what was in the air museum in Palm Springs than did the actual docents. Indeed, the docents were thrilled to learn from him... and it was clear that they had learned a lot of what they knew from guys like my dad who had visited the museum over the years. Not taking anything away from Jean, but those who experience genuine and immediate existential threats (not ethereal ones like Biden's "climate crisis" which is debatable using extant data, its medial quality and the lack thereof) like WWII (and the Cold War) take matters like secrecy seriously. Not all of them, but many. I hope that is still the case. Jean's is yet another engaging story of the "greatest generation".
Lol. Global warming deniers can't prove their lies.
Thank you! Great story, well told.
You are welcome. :)
Thanks for sharing, an interesting, well done video.
You're welcome. Appreciate your comment. We have many more NCA profiles. Check them out. Check out our films, too. Many of the veterans we focus on are at rest in one of these cemeteries.
These people get way too much over representation in society.
The overwhelming majority of normal people are sick of your treason. The reckoning is coming 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thank you. Share it with all. We want her story heard.
They fail to recognize that there were also Latino women in that unit. I consider that to be racist. www.nps.gov/articles/000/6888th.htm#:~:text=The%206888th%20Central%20Postal%20Directory%20Battalion%20was%20a%20mostly%20African,(WAAC).

This is so beautiful! I want to watch the whole film. So glad that little clip of me and Ruiz was included (@ 00:12 seconds in). These precious memories mean everything.
We are releasing the film soon. Please let us know what you think and share it with all.
I can't wait...
Alhamdulillah for I am a rational animal, a human being on this innocent earth to see the beautiful nature and thus anything of this beautiful nature strongly reminds me of the omnipotent and Sovereign Unique merciful Creator behind the wonderful planning of the creation of the whole universe and what not.
I was new to the Nurse Corps in the early 70’s, when RADM Duerk was Director. I heard her speak more than once, and as a baby Ensign, I was in awe of her rank and accomplishments. Highly respected. Beautifully created film. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Please share and encourage folk to subscribe. There's no cost, of course, and we're uploading more films!
I know these people, this is very awesome!
As the author of the beautiful A Love Letter To A Soldier I cannot wait to present the surviving women veterans and the heirs of those decreased my Tribute plaque to all 855 women. Thank you for your service.
RADM Duerk was the head of the Navy Nurse Corps when I was an Ensign. I had the good fortune to meet her after we both retired through the Florida Chapter of Navy Nurse Corps Association. She was a humble and engaging woman who left a legacy in many endeavors. Wonderful film. Thank you.
Thank you.
😊😊😊😊
Turns out Robin and I share a common friend. My mom was also in the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRNS) at Bletchley Park and married a yank.
Probably the first and last time she had ever been kissed.Too bad.She was such a fox, especially in her younger days.I think she once had a bad experience with a man and never again,A real shame
Thank you for your comment. We are going to release this film very soon... stay in contact with this channel. It'll be free for all.
