It adds salt to an open wound when Bojack found out that Angela was bluffing the entire time. Making his decision all the more hurtful. He could've walked out of the show with Herb and still kept his career, but he chose his career over his friend. I'm even willing to believe Herb knew she was bluffing and thought better of Bojack.

My best friend and I had our disagreements years ago which were leading to silent years. No visible anger was there, just awkward silence. He tried to rebuild the friendship. He got in touch and wanted to meet. Acted as if everything was the same as before. I met with him three times and rejected all his further attempts. I didn't really do it directly; I dodged his attempts. Said I didn't have time or had to work. At some point he stopped contacting me. And I was relieved back then. After two years I found out that he killed himself. And when I look at this Scene I think he would tell me the same thing. it hurts so bad

My mother never liked my girlfriend. She wanted me to find a better one but not because of my sake... Because of her sake. I choose my girlfriend and my mother and dad said: "Then leave our house!" I left. This happened 2 years ago and I am the happiest man alive because of my wife. Still I can't forgive my parents because what they did to us.

I feel like his friendship with herb was the only thing that kept him relatively grounded. Once he abandoned him, it all went downhill for bojack

My gf of 6 weeks cheated on me with my "best friend" of 3 years & tried hiding it by gaslighting me so effectively i tried ending it all. When they broke up 6 weeks later, i affluent the night at "bestie's" house to protect her from our ex. After protecting her, that's when "bestie" tells me about the cheating. She then tells me i have no right to be mad at her because i "don't understand how hard it was for her to see me get everything she wants in a partner", that i have a right to be mad but i better be nice to her about this or she's gone, and that I'm just as guilty because I've allegedly hurt her feelings countless times & she's "just too non-confrontational" to ever speak up about it, she literally didn't give a single example. I went no contact with both of them, and i don't unblock people. I recently found out that since the breakup, my ex fell down a flight of stairs & broke both ankles (she never sleeps more than 2 hours a night), and "bestie's" teeth are so messed up that she needs to have every tooth pulled & get dentures, and she isn't even 40 yet. Karma is vicious n_n

People dont forget things when there is vacuum, if you are horrible to a person be close to them when you want them to forgive you. When you abandon them they remember their last encounter with you, but if you are close to them the horrible thing becomes a joke because in reality you are a good person. I am writing this to tell you, dont get a divorce if you have a wife and kids. You might think it gets easier overtime being alone, but it does not. It ruins your kids they'll grow in separate homes, and both you and your wife will suffer. You'll compete for who is the happiest and who has moved on smoothly which I promise you none of you will win. You are the happiest with your family, the joy of getting shit done for your wife and kids will not be trumped by a night out or anything. Hang on to your family they are worth your life and more.

“It’s not my fault you got fired” is really haunting to hear after watching the final season knowing Bojack’s reluctance to stand up for Herb is why he was fired. He had the power to save his career and he just didn’t know it.

People saying "all bojack needed to say was-" aren't getting the point. You're trying to figure out in your mind out to finesse forgiveness out of herb too, instead of accepting that he has every right to not forgive him, no matter how bojack words it.

i think this was the moment that started it all. like in case you thought this was gonna be a retread of other adult cartoon sitcoms with a misanthropic main character... this was the moment where it became clear it was gonna be different.

Even tho bojack didnt really apologize. Herb didnt need an apology. What herb really needed was for Bojack to admit that he did wrong and his actions were wrong. And thats slightly different from an apology. An apology makes both parties feel better. Admitting wrong is a true selfless act bc throughout that whole thing Bojack still thinks he did the right thing. It isnt untill the later seasons (when he confronts that tv exec) that Bojack realizes he was truly wrong

Had a moment like this last week, and For once it was a moment where I related to a character more than Bojack in this show. Being abandoned by people you thought you were friends with is an incredibly shitty feeling, and it’s surreal having that “wow, you haven’t changed” moment of clarity when trying to rekindle an estranged friendship.

This kind of falls into that similar category, of why you shouldn’t piss off old people… Be you old, terminally ill, have nothing to lose, or everything to lose the less anything becomes a deterrent… Not prison, not death, not one’s reputation, or even legacy matters at a certain point.

What if Bojack Says this After Herb Said "I don't Forgive you" "(Sighs) I understand. After Everything That's happened Especially Abandoning you and got you Fired...... I don't Blame you for Not Forgiving me. I was a Shitty Friend and You Deserve Better. I wish you the Best Herb." At least Herb Would Appreciates That Bojack Understood and Accepted that if that happens.

I watch this scene whenever people try to make me feel bad for not forgiving my abusive step-mother. Herb makes me feel so vindicated. I’ve had many half-assed “apologies” from her for abusing me over the years, only for her to do the same shit over and over again. No, I will never forgive her.

I sent this to my grandfathe's a p****By the way, so you know my father was beaten by him. Ruthlessly, and my dad beat me a little bit too. Not as bad as him. But he definitely beat me. And I got diagnosed with bipolar and wound up in the hospital. And my dad turned into a drug addict and the whole family turned their back on him, and he came to live with me after he beat me and abandoned me for years he I took himinute when they would and I sent this and said. I don't forgive you. I don't forgive you for moving to a completely different country and not being there when I needed you all the most. And I'm not good. You're not getting that closure When me and my dad needed our family the most. They weren't there and I don't want to build a relationship. I wanted to for twenty years and you were never there And now they're all trying to get hold of me because I blocked them on every piece of social media and I'm not talking to them and you know what? Maybe you should have cared more 20 f****** years ago. Because I waited long enough for you to be a part of my life. And I'm not waiting anymore I don't forgive them. And I will never forgive them through the hardest parts of my life through the most terrible parts of my life. I needed them more than anybody else and they weren't there. They abandoned me. And I can never forgive them for that as much as I want to as much as I want them to accept me and be. A part of my life. I can't forgive them and I never will I refuse to give them that pleasure They chose not to be a part of my life. I'm under no obligation to allow them in now after 20 years of them f****** off And letting my dad overdose and letting me go into the hospital without even getting a call on my birthdays like I'm not obligated to forgive any of them for that. And I'm not going to and if that makes someone comfortable and they go to their death bed. We're greeting the way they treated me and wishing that I was there well. Guess what I'm not gonna be boohoo cry about it, not my problem.

I have manic episodes where I'll stay app for days and time. My mind is leaving me. I don't get a choice in thi'm not getting better and I never will. I'm gonna get worse. And when I needed you all the most. You weren't There, and now you wanna be well? I don't need you anymore. I built a family for myself and it's not you

I remember watching this episode, and at this time i was super critical about everything. I said "oh just watch, he will say he's sorry, Herb will accept it and everyone will move on in the next episode, like always". But then this scene happened. This episode made me love this show. I always kept telling myself "no they wouldn't do that", and yet they did it time and time again. I really love this show.

All bojack had to say was, "I'm sorry, Betraying you was the worst decision I ever made in my entire life, I know I don't deserve your forgiveness and i'm not looking for it. But you were the best thing that ever happened to me, and I need you to know that a day hasn't gone by where I didn't regret my decision." If he had really apologized and just accepted the fact that herb would never forgive him, Herb might have viewed for Bojack differently.

Watched a video once where someone made a theory (or maybe it was an actual fact?) that the word “Fuck” is only said in this show when someone’s really, _truly_ done with Bojack (as in: point of no return). This scene hits even harder when you think of that.

I understand everyone's opinion but I have a question: why didn’t Herb reach out for Bojack if he was in need of emotional support? Abandoning a friend is a bad feeling and Bojack was wrong in that. However, it seems Herb didn't even try to reach him out. I believe the context is omitting more information on the aftermath that is immediately depicting Bojack as the bad guy.

This hits close (of course not having cancer) I had a very toxic group that I delt with for too long. I was pregnant and excited to be a mom but with their needs and wants and problems they always put on me. With the stress and frequent panic attack killed my only chance. I had a miscarriage within my 2nd month of pregnancy. When I lost my child they abandoned me and left me in the dirt. 4 or 5 months past by and they try to get back in contact with me and "apologized". But like Herb here I didn't forgive them and stood my ground. I'm getting through the lost of a child but it will be like this. What's the lesson here? Know who's real and who's fake
