Wild Palms - House of the Rising Sun

Shootout liberating Chickie from the Fathers in Episode 3. The background music is the unforgettable House of the Rising Sun, by The Animals. Unbelievably cool choice of music in a miniseries that did all the right things with the soundtrack. nuclearbuddha.blogspot.com
One Missed Call Curse Ringtone
Просмотров 78 тыс.17 лет назад
This is the curse ringtone from the J-horror film One Missed Call. Since the question keeps coming up, the text on the cell phone screen is: "Your life: 56 seconds left" (then counts down).
the year of this comment is now 2024 and there's almost a civil wawr about to happen b/c someone tried to take out the leading presidential candidate who is donald trump. they tried using a fake v94shn in response to an overhyped vur40s in order to po982in the entire population of the world. 2007, when this clip was posted, seems like 1957 by comparison. love to you all.
One of the better scenes in the series.
For some reason, even all these years later, this sequence with it's use of this song, is very clear in my mind.

rateyourmusic.com/artist/delerium. Noted nine minute ambient track "Symbolism" was tacked onto the 1997 reissue of Delerium's least loved album, Morpheus, on Cleopatra's Hypnotic sublabel. rateyourmusic.com/release/album/delerium/morpheus/
I think Eli Levitt was laughing because Chickie's last words, "I hear a symphony", belong in the same universe and time period of old 60's tunes. Diana Ross sang "I hear a symphony" with her fellow Detroit "motown" musicians known as "The Supremes" in 1966. Considering how the characters in Wild Palms seem to relish and idolize the American pop-culture 1960's with their cars and choices of music (except for Tony Kreutzer, whose tastes go back in time a bit), I think Eli Levitt was laughing at Chickie's choice of last words reflecting lyrics by The Supremes. In a way, the words "I hear a symphony" are considered significant by many fans of Diana Ross for a special reason: Diana Ross suffered from some mental difficulties for a period of her life, that some might call schizophrenia, and it has been noted that sometimes schizophrenics hear symphonic music "coming from heaven". Also notice how Chickie asks, "is this real?" also leading into the same kind of mind-state: that Chickie himself was suffering something similar to schizophrenia due to the mimezine and torture. So I think Eli Levitt was laughing because it was such a brilliant, genius thing for Chickie to come up with to say as his last words, almost like a culturally cognizant joke despite being so incognizant. He was laughing because Chickie was such a genius even as he was dying.
picture looks like scene from oldboy
I would listen to my Delerium at night through my BOSE wave radio. I could never catch the name off or track. Finally found the Album at Goodwill. Oh my next to Flowers become screens. My top likes of music by Delerium.
Cut to Robert Morse singing a Shatner-esque rendition of "All Along the Watchtower."
Did you guys know what this ringtone came its like a cartoon show ringtone please told me what cartoon show that is please reply
this ringtone is from the movie itself, there is no cartoon with this ringtone.
It was labeled as "science fiction" as far as I can remember.
I watched this miniseries when it came out and I'd forgotten almost everything about it except for this scene, until I watched it again.
Huh, I want to see the original Japanese version. The basic idea behind the calls seem different.
I've been looking for this song forever! Thanks for uploading it.
Remember that line in the show when the reporter says to Grace's mother, "There are pictures of you committing the crime!" And she simply says sacarcastically, "Please." That was pretty amazing prediction back then, as pictures couldn't be so easily faked. Now you have people who can fake all kinds of things in their basement using cheap programs. Anyone know when Church Windows is on?
You have no idea, man. No idea.
Thanks for uploading!! The best song ever produced by Delerium!!! I wish they would make more music like this and their earlier albums.
This series deals a lot with scientology. As for the soundtrack, compare the Wild Palms-theme with the composition Clouds (Nuages) by french composer Claude Debussy. You´ll be astonished...
Amazing discovery. It inspired R. Sakamoto but sounds very close though.
one of my favorite songs of all times....so spooky....
@KakunoBuddha We ordered it off of Ebay awhile back. Nice professional 2 disc copy, still in the wrapper. :-D Great film. Back from before Oliver Stone sold out. (Assuming of course he wasn't always sold out.)
The phone LCD Displays: "You will die in 56 Seconds"
@Flipdup "your life will end in 59.58.57... ect ect seconds"
Unforgettable. Thanks for uploading this clip.
I agree totally, this song is why i remembered the movie all these years and have been searching for it ever since. thanks to the guy who posted this clip!!!!
i think ya mean if i think it is, "1 min.", then had countdown and is when it got to 56, then 55. thats how much she has to live, from start of text, and when it said all on when she dies.
ah yeah, for thos eof you wondering. the text on the cell phone says " you will die in 56 seconds"
Exactly. It's a mix of sci-fi and soap opera.
YouWantSalsa its obvious that its saying something about her dying in 56 seconds -.-'' circles and stick figures ...wtf..
i hate the japanese version the American is so much better
DX I feel so bad for the lady..
Totally agree. "House of the Rising Sun" has been used in a number of movies and TV shows, but I always remember the anguished cry of "Chickie!" whenever I hear this song.
