Starry Night Stars
For years, these stars have been made using paper tubes. I wanted to create them using basket weaving materials.
This video comes from the effort to do just that.
We divided it into four parts:
Part 1 - Creating the Frame
Part 2 - Weaving/Wrapping the Frame
Part 3 - Creating a Backing for the Star
Part 4 - Weaving the Floral Frame Large Star.

Weaving A Cat Head Basket Single & Double Wall
Просмотров 4 тыс.2 года назад
This video is the product of roughly two years of research and experimentation as I tried to figure out how to explain the process of weaving a cat head basket. Before this, I had only woven one or two in my life. It’s my interpretation of how to weave a very simple cat head basket, as both a single wall and a double wall. We’ve divided it into two parts, Part 1 shows weaving the single walled ...

    Wow, what an easy to follow tutorial! Thank you, in particular for explaining what happens on the bottom, this helped me tremendously as my project was at a complete standstill after the warp being I was so confused about that separate strand. For days I searched videos/tutorials and you were the only one that mentioned it, very helpful, thanks again!

      Thank you! I am so glad it was helpful to you. When I learned how to make this style stool, I had the same problem with the look on the bottom of the seat. Fortunately, I had a teacher with me to explain it. So, when I made the video I figured if I had a problem understanding the underside, then others might have the same problem....so I made sure to mention it.

    Incredible instructions and demonstration. I know you put countless hours into your projects, then videoing them for us--not to mention creating & sharing your files. As a former basketweaver, your instructions were perfectly clear. Have you tried Bearly Art Glue? It holds everything I've ever tried to glue (but not double-sided glitter paper which I didn't know even existed) and sets up quickly. I broke my resolution to not subscribe to any more YT channels, but couldn't help myself.😀 I'm eager to start watching more of your videos after the holidays.

Not to worry, we only produce about 1 or 2 videos a year......you will not be inundated new video listings. I will definitely try that glue....I am always looking for the next best thing to add to my tool box!

    To make it as a handle for a basket what would you use instead of the paint stick?

    • @beverlyashtonvickers
      @beverlyashtonvickers 2 года назад

      A regular basket handle, either a D-handle, push in handle, or self made handle.......I make a samples of the wraps on paint sticks and hang them in my basket room. Then when I want to wrap a basket handle, I can chose the design I wish to make and use the paint stick sample as a guide while I am weaving my basket handle. I hope this answers your question........
