I'd install a roll in style cycle chock, instead of the strap style,,,,that's what I use and you can still add straps

That design has most of the bike and trailer ahead of the axle. It must have at least 500 pounds of tongue weight.

Was looking at several other drop deck trailers and some had winches but this is super simple. I will be building this over the winter to replace a rusty used one that has a bad axle placement for my longer chopper. Thanks for the video. As for all the comments about straps and the chalk etc. of course people can replace all that stuff to their liking. This is a demo of the trailer functionality not the video of best bike hauling practices lol. Also DAM those are the beefiest tires I ever saw on a trailer made to carry one motorcycle lol. looks good though and plenty of stability.

First. Reach down and put bike in neutral with your hand. Second, start bike. Third, slam bike back in to gear at high idle. Fourth, load bike partially in to wheel chock. Fifth, jump off bike leaving in precariously teetering in wheel chock. Sixth, pull up chaps. Seventh, hang a couple of $5 cam straps on the rubber mounted handlebars. Eighth, jump off and run around to front of bike before it falls over and pull down on $5 cam straps with the same pressure an 8 year old girl guide would exert. Ninth, pull up chaps. 10th, throw your arms in the air and proclaim “done” like a rodeo cowboy that just hogtied a calf. Eleventh. Pull up chaps. Twelfth, ignore rear tire down straps. They are gay as fuck, unlike your chaps and bandana. Sweet trailer though.

I've been wanting to build a trailerable pontoon house boat that has a pair of extra pontoons that jacknife onto the roof for travel, but pivot down on the water to give a 48 inch walkway on both sides of the cabin with outer pontoons under the walkway in lowered position for more stability in rougher water like one would see on the Mississippi around the barges and cargo boats. Think of it like an "L" in the lowered position with a pontoon on the bottom of the outiside of the "L". In the raised position the two extra pontoons would be over the centerline of the cabins roof. The top of the "L"'s tip would mount and pivot halfway up the outerwalls off of pillow blocks. The "L"'s could be attached at the corners of the reinforced cabin frame. An electric winch with some cables and pullys would make raising and lowering the pontoons fairly simple. Yea, crazy idea, and probably be a heavy sucker on the trailer.

A lot of cruisers have rubber mounted handlebars. Tie down should be on the forks not handlebars. I like the trailer design. Simple and easier loading.

Great idea - Strapping down bad though and would not work on all bikes (especially the ones with a batwing or similar faring)
