Hi guys! In this video I take you along with me on my first day of PY1. I hope you're all having a wonderful day and easing back into your (online) school/work routines!
If you don't mind me asking, what would you say is the grade pharm schools look for in Ochem? I am struggling a bit right now, and I've heard people say that ochem will show up a lot in pharm school, so it's better to keep my grades high in these classes. Thanks so much :)
I'm doing b pharmacy undergraduate after my high school... I'm comfused what are you doing? Bharm d or b pharmacy... Do you think b pharmacy is worth it?
This is a great video for someone who is attending pharmacy school 👍👍
Pharmacy sucks in the US
How are you liking Pharmacy Automation ? Do u like the reduced money people making now ? Well, maybe you can work part-time as an estatician to make up some money and less stress
What are pharmacy bechalor jobs and pharmacy master jobs
Give me more information pls
What does your name means?
You are me ....... i opted for pharmacy as 'pharmacy by chance ' even though i was bad in studying, hated needles and cutting and seeing blood and diseased pt, but from the 1st day of my college i loved it even though i am really bad in chemistry which is the major part of pharmacy but still i love it mostly p. Ceitics and p.Cognocy
Is there any job opportunities in canada in pharmacy
Hi Armitta..I am a Pharmacist too, I can completely relate your videos 👍
Hi
Pharmacy will be far easier and better work life balance but you will make far less money. Filling prescriptions at Walgreen's everyday is going to get boring quick !
Well pharmacy has easier life.
In summary you did not have the balls to go into medicine or dentristy.
Nothing for 2 years...have you graduated? What's been going on over the past two years Armitta? I'm considering pharmacy and was wondering how year 3 and year 4 went + job search or internships/fellowships.
I feel you.. exam week is like 😨
Your videos are amazing! I watched your video of why you picked pharmacy and it really helped me when I decided on pharmacy! im an incoming pharmD student this august!
Same same same!!!
Omg good luck yay to us im very excited!!! @@dunkqueen2359
Same to you!!!! <333
You may not see this but, my daughter enters Pharmacy school this fall. She needs a new computer or laptop. She's leaning towards an iPad Air but we'd love your opinion. Thanks!
This is the current information really I was looking for
Pharmacy has much more information about the drugs, mechanism of actions, adverse effects than medicine.
My sis left this field because of financial issues and off course the distance from university to home were 2 hours . She left and choose bs in dental hygienist 🦷. Now she’s fine. But regret it. To not getting that degree it hurts when i see her. I do pray that some day she’ll be fine soon. 🥲🌸
am really stressful still now i dont know what to do🥲 tired
right now i am in stage of choosing my career path and i dont know what career is best for me. besides like you i dont want to become a doctor because for the working schedule and the time they spend on the same place its kinda like a prison for me . but lately i am thinking about pharmacy and your video help me to know about this career
I am a U.S. pharmacist and I regret that I became a pharmacist. The pharmacist job market is really bad here in U.S. 70% of pharmacist (most are forced due to a lack of other options) work within traditional retail pharmacy practice settings with poor working conditions: standing 12 hours on feet (can't sit down), little respect from doctors/public (retail pharmacist is really viewed as a salesperson by other healthcare professionals and public), unrealistic work loads, full-time working as a pharmacy technician, little or no lunch breaks. Most importantly, as a retail pharmacist, you will be expected to work as a full time pharmacy technician. This is the biggest untold truth (by pharmacy schools) about working at a retail pharmacy in the United States. This directly puts you at a much higher risk of making a serious mistakes as a pharmacist! How many doctors have to work as full time nurses too? I am sure zero! I went to pharmacy school because I thought I could enter pharmaceutical industry field after graduation. However, unless you have strong connections with the right professionals, you need to forget about working in non-traditional pharmacy settings where work conditions are appropriate. The real lesson of life: don't choose a profession that you like, but the one with realistic work conditions. Moreover, finding a job as a hospital or clinic pharmacist will be extremely difficult because this is where most pharmacists want to work (due to much better work conditions, benefits, work-life balance etc). My advice: if you are already in pharmacy school, go directly into a residency program and become a clinical pharmacist. This was a significant oversight on my part because I was money-hungry, and I went to work for a retail pharmacy instead of getting more specialized-training. After I realized how much I hate working in a traditional retail pharmacy, it became too late/difficult to take another path in the profession. Second life lesson: it is not enough to determine what is the right thing for you to do, but doing it at the right time as well is crucial! I only hope that most traditional pharmacy settings will be converted to mail-order pharmacy where you verify prescriptions behind closed doors with acceptable work conditions!
@@IvanMesser-o5s I hear you! And that’s great advice/life lessons for us all. I went straight into a residency program (am currently completing it) so I can avoid community pharmacy for the reasons you mentioned. It’s not great in Canada either… I’m not sure about the US, but thankfully there is increase demand for pharmacists here and expanding clinical jobs. I wish you the best!
This has to be the realest "week in the life" video I've seen Yeah I find your week interesting!
❤ I like the video .can you told me the process to enter pharmacy university in Canada plz
Am a high school in Uganda I would feel great if ...u tried to help me out on wat to do😢

Thanks so much really needed this as a high school student
Straight away i knew you had middle eastern roots from your eyes and accent mashallah ❤
I love your video❤ Thanks for the advice
Since this was 2 years ago… Would you now recommend pharmacy in 2023??
Hi Armitta where are you from initially?
I’m Iranian ☺️
i wanted medicine but cuz i came from a private school and the university list of accepted polytechnics and schools didn’t have my school on there i guess i’m gonna have to drop it and i’ll just pursue pharmacy instead
Pharmacy is more like working at mcdonalds with infinite menu than in the healthcare.
Being a pharmacy student......I can relate to you at this point 12:10. I too am afraid of blood and needles. That was my reason as well for taking pharmacy over dentistry and medicine. My parents always wanted me to become an MBBS doctor but getting a lower percentage in college took me to this field. Not getting admission in MBBS and dentistry is really not the end of the life there are other great options as well in the medical field that one can think about. Love from Pakistan❤
From which uni r u studying pharmacy. I am also from 🇵🇰 pakistan
Me too 🇵🇰
Same here 🇵🇰
Seems like pharm d is good profession in Pakistan as compared to India 😂

Hi. Good luck to your coming exams! you may also inspire your viewers, specially like us who could connect with you about student life and or being a pharmacist. I remember my college from the University I had graduated. I oftentimes feel calm yet not relax with a number of books with our different subjects piled through my desk at home while studying.....sometimes I get over my nerve to really calm down soon as the minute came for me to go and take all of my exams within the day. That is the time I started to feel better when I was reading already my test papers with my pen on my bright hand and a lot of answers popped up into my mind again because I studied exactly with enough time. Setting aside some of my other hobbies to do instead, with my efforts and prayers, I passed my exams thanked God. I did balance my time for study and another time for my work in the pharmacy and mom said to me "you can continue to study even you stop working here in the pharmacy, your dad & me will continue spend for your college tuition fees, always focus your studies". I replied to my mom saying, "i can better focus my studies mom with having my own part time work experience on week ends and studying also on school days. It's a part time job experience only I had with my friend at the pharmacy on 1 summer after my freshman or first year in college. And I am so gratrful and thankful to my parents support and also to my friend for our enthusiastic encouragement together with our work together in the pharmacy. 🏪🙂 have a great day also!
Currently considering pharmacy. I'm super interested in psychiatry & neuroscience, so I'm thinking perhaps specializing for psychiatric pharmacology. HOWEVER, I've been seeing stuff around RUclips about "complex calculations" and I'm a bit scared of that.
As a pharmacist been practicing for 8 years. If you ever thought about medical school and settled for pharmacy. When you’re in my shoes, you will start thinking about going back to medical school. Just letting you know.
Why please? Tell me more
why?
Why?
Because you will feel limited to what you can do with your degree and your brain is always hungry for more knowledge and freedom in helping your patients. You can go the residency route and be a clinical pharmacist, but your hand will still be tied to what you can offer patients, because the doctor did not agree with you.@@nafistyles793
Why so what happened with you may I know?
This is such a good video!! Thank you for making it I feel so seen as this is so similar to my own trajectory, I’m going into my final year of undergrad at a Canadian uni as well, was really pre med at the beginning but then changed my mind, I’m really hoping I get into pharm school!!!
i am 4th year pharmacy student and i will be happy if you advice me regarding how to get scholarship.
Can u do a video on how to pass chemistry : ( I love chem but i struggle doing it. I want it to be fluent
Cool!
The idea of me being able to have a side job on the weekend if i want to as a telepharmacist where i can work at home is super cool too!
I hope you fail
Hey, I had a question. I'm an international student currently in grade 12th, will be applying to Canadian universities for the 2024 fall intake. Can we apply to the pharmacy program after high school itself or r we suppose to take a 2 year course in science with specific subject requirements and then apply for the pharmacy program? (I'm interested in hospital pharmacy where u get to interact with patients and stuff idk what it's called lol😹) and can u please make a video on your application process would be great ☺
20+ years in pharmacy here and love ever second of it! May not pay the greatest in my country (Australia), but it is definitely very rewarding. Passed on med (no rectal exams 😂😂😂😂) and pharmacy was really hard to get into, and I got a scholarship! So win win at the time for me! Do what makes you happy!
How is counting pills rewarding?
